On defense, be careful with what moves you throw out. Haku's blockstrings have just enough gaps to make it seem like you can do something but are tight enough that your move will never make it out in time. The key is to figure out the various points where it would hurt you to try and attack.

This is also important: don't rely on command throws. First, work on just getting your fundamentals up. Figure out how you can combo from pretty much any random poke and what moves you can use with what spacing to beat Hakumen's moves. For instance, doing 5C right after a throw break will beat Hakumen doing 4C clean. If you can do this, you won't always be going for throws, so they won't be as expected and thus scarier. You also need pressure up close that keeps Hakumen pinned down and stops him from jumping out, or catches jump outs. If he tries to jump out you get a combo, if he starts staying still you can go for throws. You have to "train" the other player first before you can go for your more advanced techniques. Backdash is good if the Haku gets aggressive. IB helps a lot.

Yeah, I don't think it's smart to challenge Hakumen air to air. You'll get beat almost every time. You're better off slowly making your way in on the ground and jumping in through the air while blocking, to push Hakumen back. Don't fire Spark Bolt as soon as you get hit; hold it so the Hakumen has to be more careful and that will let you get in easier. If he does something dumb you can nail him with Spark Bolt.

GF mixup is my one holy grail of fun. And no insights yet. You always just jump around all the time with your incredible spacing and I can't break green throws for dicks or even IB properly. I also can't break your j.c and 4c wall of pain. Tick throws don't exist vs. you, and neither does AA because its Tager. Haku beats Tager out of every single aerial attack, and I can't seem to beat 3c with anything - probably because 3c is 9f startup. So no, I've nothing. I mean it wasn't just me playing bad since I pretty much leveled Shervin 11 out of 13 games.

GGs dawg. You endured it. :P Your gadget finger mixup is getting scary. I'm guessing wrong half the time. x_x Usually I'm like "lol, gadget finger" but it's turning into an annoyance against you. Any thoughts on the matchup? You seemed to be going through several phases of trying different things.
