  1. How would the manual help? I have two manuals for the game (#R and Slash), and they're both in Japanese. Not much help to a southern barbarian like me.
  2. That version is missing a lot of the later stuff from the wikipedia article. For example, my entry for "zoning". I saved a copy when I saw they were about to delete it. Some day I'll move it over to the wiki dictionary site.
  3. Baiken players who are looking to land counters are more defensive and waiting for you to make the first attack, so they're usually more vulnerable to being thrown.
  4. What's Millia's best dust combo?
  5. I just set the options to 1 round, 30 seconds, beginner difficulty. That way you can beat it with everyone really really quickly and not have to worry about unlocking #R stuff or artwork.
  6. More dumb questions!! What do you guys do for an anti-air 6P combo? On counterhit, I think you can do 6P, roll, 5P, 5P, air combo (I usually go for the air combo mentioned earlier in this post). Otherwise I don't know, looks like they can tech pretty early.
  7. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11535#post11535 Q) What is Jump Install? How can I do it? Jump install originated as a glitch, but has been accepted and is now a common technique. The basic idea is that you trick the game into thinking you have already jumped, but actually never leave the ground. The net result of this is that if you leave the ground under a condition that would normally not allow you to double jump or air dash, you will still be able to do these things. The way to actually do a Jump Install is by starting a jump motion, but before you leave the ground, input something that causes you to stay on the ground. For example, the basic Gattling method can be done like this with Sol: S 8 2D By hitting 8, you buffer a jump, but before you jump, you cancel into a 2D. This causes you to have "installed" a jump. That doesn't help you immediately, but now what if Sol does this: S 8 2D 236K(1-hit) RC ... Now Sol is in the air after RCing the first hit of the Bandit Revolver. Normally he can't jump during this, but because you jump installed, you can now jump or jump cancel, such as doing: S 8 2D 236K(1) RC > j.S > jc.D 623H Not a great example, but you can build on this basic technique to do some very nice stuff.
  8. You mean MAS. http://www.massystems.com/ProStick.html
  9. Alright more questions: What combo do you guys generally use after a counterhit 6H? Right now I'm practicing: 6H (counterhit), roll, walk in, S©, 2H, SJC, j.K, j.S, j.H, Silent Force, land, 6H (secret garden). It does great damage and knocks down, but I can't seem to get it to work entirely consistently. Sometimes they tech just before the 6H hits them. Any advice on that combo, or a better combo I should be using?
  10. The reason it wasn't working is because I was taping down a third. It works fine now.
  11. I bought a PS2 slimline tonight because my old one was broken. I don't want to have to wait for a flip top to arrive in the mail, so I tried to duct tape the sensors to fool the machine. I found two sensors, and taped them, but so far no luck (disk does not spin while top is open). Any advice? Is there anything else I'm missing? Edit: Just found a third sensor, will report back in a few minutes. Edit 2: Still no luck :-/ Edit 3: Working fine now. Awesome.
  12. Wow thanks for the compilation. I didn't see it in your folder, so just in case you don't know, RC has some other Slash data up: http://romancancel.com/Slash/may.html http://romancancel.com/Slash/aba.html http://romancancel.com/Slash/johnny.html http://romancancel.com/Slash/eddie.html http://romancancel.com/Slash/venom.html
  13. Romancancel.com needs to put up Millia slash frame data. I don't even know how safe/bu safe bad moon is on block. Oh well... I'll just do it to my friend 100 times in a row and see how many times I get punished.
  14. Well most of these aren't gameplay questions but whatever... The chances of Slash being released State-side are slim. So don't count on it. You can buy it at play-asia.com, yesasia.com, liksang.com, ncsx.com, etc... There's no one "best stick" for everyone; using a stick is like using anything else, people have opinions and like certain things that others might not. It's a good idea to go to a local gathering and ask people if they would let you try out their sticks for a couple minutes. That way you'll get a feel for what you like in a stick (Sanwa or Happ? Or Seimitsu? If Sanwa: square or octagonal gate? If Happ: Comp, P360, or Super? Hard or soft spring? Happ buttons or Sanwa buttons? etc). While a lot of people prefer Happ sticks, I think the majority of players prefer Sanwa. A solid stick that comes with a Sanwa already installed is the Hori Real Arcade Pro. If you google for it you'll find half a dozen sites that are selling. You can find Sol tips in his character-specific forum.
  15. I also have a modded HRAP. Which is actually my favorite to use. But it's not pretty like the others. Hmm I'm looking for the deviant art page of the guy who did the Dizzy artwork, but I can't find it. He lives in Malaysia and is quite talented.
  16. Stinkymonz: ever heard the phrase "ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer"? What I said was a joke. Also May can zone.
  17. May is the worst. Edit: Yeah in case anyone else besides Stinkymonz thought I was being serious: I wasn't.
  18. GREETINGS MORTALS Does anyone know the URL for the site that has/had some Sigihara vids, including one with a restive roller FRC > j.2H crossup against Axl?
  19. If I recall correctly, IIRC stands for "I'm initiating roman cancels!!" I usually scream it out really loudly right before I initiate a roman cancel. IANAL. YMMV.
  20. Thanks a lot, Teyah. The info on 6H is much appreciated, as well. 'Tis nice to use a character with good anti-airs for once.
  21. Okay well then here's another question (a two-parter!)... Millia seems to have a lot of really good anti-air options: 5P, 6P, 2H... 1) What other moves can she use as anti-air AND 2) how do I know which move to use in which situation? (Don't bother with the #R specific stuff.) Thanks
  22. Nah, forget about the #R guide. You're polishing the brass on the Titanic as Tyler would say! But aren't a lot of the strats the same? I mean her air combos have changed but I can just watch match vids for the combos. I am more interested in things like oki setups, general tactics, mixup ideas, etc... and frame data :-P Oh so here's a good question: Where can I find XX Slash Milla frame data, in English?
  23. When's the Millia guide going to be completed?
  24. This link might be useful. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fighting_game_terms
