Chrono Phantasma Speculations/Theories [rules updated 10/14]
harmless kitten replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
We see Nu's vulnerabilities in CT because we're privy to her thoughts and she's not condensed crazy in a can all the time, but we don't get that in CP. She ends up looking even worse as a result. But frankly, I think they've sloughed off Nu's softer aspects onto Lambda. Nu struck me as OTT violent and even more possessive of Ragna; maybe Nu's soul was actually split apart when Kokonoe used it to animate Lambda? Current Nu would then lack the affection, loneliness, desire to be free, etc that tempered her insanity. The way Nu wants to kill Ragna to which Lambda says that's wrong makes me think something like that is happening. -

May have been mentioned before release, but I don't recall. What's the timeframe of Bloodedge Experience? -

And then Jin and Saya weren't allowed to go shopping with Ragna ever again. lol at Saya just expecting Ragna to read the book to her because she can't read it. -

Was Sechs blond before he went kind of cuckoo? The hair beads and ahoge make me think that the man in the background is a younger Sechs. -

Rachel does have golden eyes when using Tsukuyomi. Maybe it relates to that? Or they could've changed the character design. -

Yes, it's something I'm very thankful for. I don't recall past versions doing that and doing it in CSE was pretty tedious to the extent that I never did fully finish, but I got everyone except Arakune (annoying text) and half of Rachel's. I compiled all of CSE's win quotes (sans Arakune). There's some interesting stuff in there. Never got around to CT, but 144 win quotes compared to 361 (Extend) and 676 (CP) isn't too bad. I also typed up all of CP and CSE's arcade modes. Now THAT was a lot of typing. All of my stuff is uploaded here if anybody wants to take a look. If someone doesn't like the format or the site, I could also throw up plain text uploads. I haven't proofread everything yet (especially CP arcade where there's a lot of typos), but I plan on doing it once I finish everything else first. -

I've actually been typing up all the quotes that play after you defeat a character in arcade mode, but I'm only about 1/3 of the way through. 676 quotes is a lot to get through. -
It makes people tense and on edge, and heightens bloodlust. Even people who were aware of it (such as Kagura) felt compelled to fight. I think Amaterasu doesn't want that kind of conflict in the first place. She doesn't like all the hatred. It seemed to me that she wanted a happy outcome for people, hence her (if Amaterasu is the girl in Rachel's story after all) rewriting the story again and again even though it's fruitless. There's not much information on why Amaterasu feels that way, but I suppose that's for another game.

Holy shit, I knew it was up to his collarbone but I didn't realize it had spread down his side too. It looks like a 5 to me, just a kind of squished 5. I think the mistake is the symbol as a whole being too large and in the wrong place. This picture has it pretty big compared to previous ones, and it's below his clavicle insead of being in the hollow of his throat. The shape is somewhat off as well. -

Noel doesn't even have an Azure Grimoire in the first place. She can tap into the power of the Azure itself, no grimoire necessary. THAT'S one of the things that made her so special. Ragna's grimoire is probably just a shitty prototype with no off switch and Terumi was able to further refine the Azure Grimoire after the catastrophic failure of the Black Beast. I think he says something about learning tons of shit from its failure in most CS arcade endings. -

I'd put him closer to 22, 24 at the absolutely oldest. It would make him 15 during the church's destruction which sounds about right to me. Ragna didn't look nor sound like a child in his flashback in CS. -

Terumi gets bday pictures in the form of Hazama, and Arakune's birthday is celebrated on April Fools. -

Yes, Kondou voices Saya/Noel/Nu/Lambda. Yukana voices Izanami. Originally it was Kondou who voiced Izanami, but this changed for Extend. I suppose to hammer in the fact that this isn't really Saya. It was just an attempt to get under Ragna's skin--and it worked, albeit not the way she wanted it to. -

I don't think it's really likely. Jubei says that this war won't last as long since humanity has ars magus, and I doubt that Hakumen sat on his ass while the Beast destroyed the world. Kagutsuchi, yes. The world, no. I think it's more likely that Ragna killed and devoured Jin, then went to town on the inhabitants of Kagutsuchi. I think Rachel was just talking about that specific possibility being eradicated because it wasn't a favorable shift. -

Touya isn't called a Black Beast, no? For Ragna, he's explicitly called a heartless beast by Hakumen. Heartless referring to no Murakumo Unit. They turn into humanoid "beasts," but they don't become the highly destructive eight-headed serpents we all know and love. -

The Black Beast spawned in the sidestory was teeny weeny, and may have been isolated to the Cauldron and its immediate vicinity. A full-fledged Black Beast is probably not able to be shrunken down by Infinite Gravity. Nine also pioneered said technique to make the Black Beast cores. Infinite Gravity may be limited to top tier mages like Nine and Kokonoe. -

Theory: It was just a convoluted plot to set up the possibility of forming a life-link with Noel. Terumi's shown to plan ahead, such as feeding all the of Kagutsuchi NOL soldiers to the Altar. He never wanted to create a Black Beast at all. That was just lip service for S7. Or it was an attempt at making a controllable Black Beast. Hazama's the one that takes Nu to Kagutsuchi in her short story, so he probably did set all of it up.
