  1. Drive =/= ars magus. Valkenhayn is a werewolf and existed long before the creation of ars magus. It just so happens most of the cast relies on an Armagus or other special power. However, Phase 0 Ragna is kind of sucky. I'm pretty sure the "scythe" of Blood-scythe is just the energy/seithr of the Azure Grimoire much like his other attacks. Of course if they really wanted to it really wouldn't be hard to make something up for him.
  2. When they tried to make Kusanagi (the first Murakumo Unit), not Mu-12. Mu-12 (in her fully tempered state) is just the fully realized Murakumo Unit, the one made with the true Azure and capable of locating Amaterasu. She's called the reincarnation of Kusanagi for that precise reason. The naming scheme comes from the sword's role in myth. The first Kusanagi kind of bombed. Noel probably isn't present in the Wheel of Fortune and other "early" timelines because she died at Ibukido. I'm not sure how Hierarchical Cities relate to all this. There are Hierarchical Cities because seithr is toxic in high doses, so it's probably more like there are Hierarchical Cities in every timeline that has a Black Beast (so all of them??).
  3. Actually, it might be the head. I just remembered that the corpse of the Black Beast that Ragna gets under the church was headless. Or it's just referring to the Beast Gene project described in the first Setting Material Collection.
  4. It's from the first Calamity Trigger novel. Define "remnants of the Black Beast" though. Ragna's already hefting around the Black Beast's body in his right arm, but that happened AFTER the church was destroyed.
  5. Kokonoe did it. Infinite Gravity compressed it into a teeny tiny ball which Relius took to use as Ignis's "soul"/core.
  6. Yes, or at least an entity extremely close to one. What made THE Black Beast so dangerous is probably the Azure Grimoire and the stock of souls it had already built up. It glutting itself on a good portion of Japan and then the rest of the world didn't help. By the time Nine came up with the techniques to create the Nox Nyctores, the Black Beast had likely long passed the point of being contained so easily.
  7. I can sort of understand with Jin and Hazama, and definitely understand with Amane, but Ragna, Haku, Valk, and Relius look like women? Did you grow up in a male bodybuilder enclave?
  8. I was going to say "wow, I like her character design" and then I looked at the voice actor... Eh, the ratio between pretty and buff men is pretty even.
  9. Hot damn, I'm really surprised by Tsubaki being number 1.
  10. I'm actually unsure whether Takamagahara was ever his observer. Hakumen describes himself and Rachel as "uncertain factors" (or external factors depending on the translation), beings that have fallen from Takamagahara's gaze and thus need another observer to maintain themselves. I can't remember if he mentions Terumi but Terumi fits the criteria. Well, Enchant Dragunov itself isn't of note. Ragna theorizes it might be an amplification crest, but Azrael tells him it's a limiter he willingly keeps on himself. Azrael doesn't release it because very few people can stand up to his Level 1 form, let alone Level 2 or (presumably) Level 3. I think it actually takes the form of his tattoos. I think his aura is just general powerup aura.
  11. He realized an alternate method of opening the Nemesis Horizon. It's what he's screaming about in Ragna's arcade ending. Nu is also potentially capable of killing Amaterasu once it's out of the Boundary.
  12. Amaterasu is stuck in the Boundary, so it was kind of impossible TO destroy it unless he wanted to use Mu. But then he opted for eliminating Takamagahara first (likely because they were planning on nabbing the Azure after Amaterasu was out of the way). There's only two options for destroying Amaterasu: Find someone else who can locate Amaterasu within the Boundary, or bring it out of the Boundary. Chronophantasma has a huge arrow pointing towards the latter. @Fenris: Red doesn't represent evil so much as it does rebellion and chaos. Blue is more like destiny and order.
  13. Destroying Amaterasu is his top priority. The Black Beast was, in his words, just a pain in the ass. It was a fantastic failure and it just screwed everything up. He wants a "world of despair." I'm not fond of the "lol driving people to despair is a survival tactic!" Hatred alone is not enough to sustain him, and at best it's just a temporary hold between observers. I don't think he gives much thought to that... He just enjoys hurting people.
  14. He's her father. She doesn't really have a mother. Unless you want to say Clavis is also her mother. Phantom not being Nine at this point would be really weird, no? It'd be such a huge red herring. It's possible (in the sense that near anything in this damn series is possible), but not probable.
  15. If you look really hard, you can see the vague outline of something kind of like her hat. Or at least the brim.
  16. By there, I meant requited. IDGAF about what Celica feels about him. Also, I'm almost certain that that dark figure in the PV is Nine now.
  17. The whole situation is weird, but I wouldn't call Celica a pedo. This Celica (young Celica) is not the same Celica (Sister Celica) that this Ragna knew, just as this Ragna is not the same Ragna (Phase 0 Ragna) that this Celica (young Celica) knew. If anything, it reflects bizarrely on Ragna. I have to admit that the moments between them weird me out. Are they going there? Really? Really?!
  18. But then he would be cheating on Noel. Well, maybe I will find her more interesting in the various story modes...
  19. I actually kind of thought this too. Her expression is pretty despairing, but the angle and the, ah, subject matter just completely ruin the mood of the picture. @BlackYakuzu94: It's been obvious since CT. Go look up Nu's Astral cut-in. There's a lot of Celica in those PV pictures. I'm hoping that the Six Heroes mode won't just be all Celica all the time. How popular is she anyway?
  20. Valkenhayn has had a longstanding feud with Relius and Rachel...idk, I remember Rachel taking a minor interest in Carl's development. Those four were probably thrown together haha. The second picture made me laugh. Was it really necessary to get such a closeup of Nu's butt? From the trailer--I had thought that the red eye in the darkness was something Black Beast-related, but now it sort of looks like...Nine? The way the hair flares out reminds me of her hair and there's a blob that COULD be her hat. It's definitely a woman though. There are some parts (like the leg and clothes) that remind me of Mu, but it's obviously not Mu.
  21. I think some of the information presented in her joke ends is correct, like the names of her siblings and where she grew up, it's just...dramatized. Greatly. Some of the joke ends aren't far off, like Noel being an awful cook or Ragna being frightened of ghosts.
  22. Seithr concentration increases the lower in elevation you go, and not even Makoto (who is exceptionally resistant, even for a beastkin) is totally immune. Maybe they're trying to forget about the Hierarchical Cities being confined to mountainous areas?
  23. I would ask why there would even be a beach episode due to the Hierarchical Cities being in highly mountainous regions, but Remix Heart had one and Makoto's joke end says she grew up by the sea. Manmade seas created by damming and ars magus? Hell if I know.
  24. He tackled it using the Grimoire. There's a pic showing that. He got eaten after a little bit so eh there prob wasn't much fighting going on. Phase 0 Ragna was a cripple without seithr. Ragna DID NOT fight it for a year; that's Jubei bullshitting or being metaphorical about how he was fighting it ~inside~ so it went into a coma.
  25. Me and a friend were just discussing that. Looks like Mori found a studio after all. Hope it's not DEEN.
