Well this was discussed in the matchup forums but thought this is good info for some of the newer players to see. Akihiko has different properties on his leveled attacks, especially shown in Corkscrew attacks. However whenever you do a COUNTER hit with a Cyclone attack, ala Corkscrew, Hook, DP, etc, it instantly jumps up a level from what it was before. So Counter hit lvl 2 Corkscrew/Hook = Lvl 3 Corkscrew/hook and so on. There's a "secret" lvl 4 if you do a counter lvl 3 move but I've noticed only Corkscrew is different. I'mma list out the properties below. Lvl 1 Corkscrew = Knockback, Lvl 2 Cork = Hard knockdown/Skid, Lvl 3 Cork = Wallbounce, Lvl 4 Cork = Crumple on ground/Wallbounce in air, Lvl 3/4 Hook = Crumple

Well I can't say it's unique but any counter cyclone attacks would add on the property of the next level. So Lvl 1 Cork would do hard knockdown like lvl 2, Lvl 2 does wallbounce like lvl 3, and then the "secret" lvl 4 with Counter hit Lvl 3 Corkscrew does Crumple. It would be really sick if you can sit in Lvl 2 Weave so you can counter hit Cork the Droit to do a crumple. But I'm sure the other player would think something was fishy if you were doing that lol.

You need to do a mini dash after j.B before 5B. You have to be as close as possible before doing B Assault Dive and the 6D into 4A has a little timing to it. Here's a visual example for it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTbka0sgRGk

Tuka I haven't thought about using B Assault Dive in OMB combos. Thanks! Also Soriphen your notations seem off to me. For that much damage there's no 2C and you can't chain 4A to 4B so there's a 4D in there?

Alright so first of all, your combo does good damage but far from optimized. If you're doing fatal 5B or Hook into 5C OMB combos, you should do 2C after OMB into loops. That said you should do 2B, j.B loops in Fatal counter combos for more damage and better proration. Also, when you're doing the fatal into OMB combos, you can always do add one more loop from the usual fatal combos. So instead of the usual 3, do 4. So for example I took your combo and did the following: FC 5B, 5C, OMB, 2C, 2B, j.B, 2B, j.B, 2B, j.B, 5B, j.B, 5AA, 2AC, A Killrush, C Duck, A Corkscrew, B Cyclone Upper. 7854 damage My combo did 300 more than yours and only uses 50 SP. As a rule of thumb, I always have at least 2 2B loops at the beginning of FC combos and then do 5B loops. OMB combos allows you to do 3 2B loops. And one more thing, I saw your other video that did 2 supers off of CH 5C. To optimize 2 super ender, you want to try to get the first BIG hit of the super, the one that has the huge hit stop. It's a difference of 300 or more damage which is life or death for some matches.

It's true they shouldn't be pointblank but concept was just there to show there's a way around it. Plus even if she was pointblank, the meteors do protect her so it's still a problem. -

Is 5AA 5C not a tight blockstring, if at all? Or is it necessary to do 5B after 5AA?

This is for sure the most detailed matchup thread. Every other one seems so dead. I'm actually glad we had that debate kinda. And thanks Ryd, that's what I thought it was as well because he did yell "come" in between so I guess it was a successful counter. Too bad they didn't convert damage off at the time. It's some nice tech.

Hmm he did say they were specific so I'm guessing it'd be the slower ones like double fan toss or Maragi (flame pillar). Sounds interesting and building up to Lvl 3 Mazio takes a bit of time. Don't know if you guys know this or not but you can input 214C for weave and then 214C/D for Maziodyne right after. Don't have to do the full input for super so it's like a shortcut of sorts. Should I mention this in the technical thread as well? :o Also I do have a question regarding battling against her DP. In the video I noticed Akis doing EX Duck into A Hook into something into D weave back. Yukiko would do DP in between the EX Duck and Aki hits her guard point with hook but doesn't get knocked back. I can't tell if he did counter in between or if he just moved back with weave to avoid getting hit by the DP. Since Dacid was talking about the DP, I was reminded of this. Do one of you guys have a sharp eye and can see what happened?

You have such clever sayings iw2ma. Anyways, at least Ryd uses specific things to back his argument, and that's what I respect out of a debate. So much props to you for giving that detailed wall of information. I'm not too sure what to think about Akihiko being not that good of a character. I guess if you were comparing him on a chart (like MM Cafe or something) of A tier people, he'd be more on the unstable side rather than the stable side. But still he is a great character. But that's not matchup talk. I got nothing more to contribute for now. I feel like for now, 6-4 is as far as it will get for Yuki's favor so it's definitely not helpless. Be patient, find an opening to duck or super jump or whatever, and keep on her the best you can.

That is a very very very funny joke because I play both Aki and Iron Fist. Did I mention that was a very funny joke? But haha I do like that you compare IF and Aki together because I completely agree with that. For some reason JWong thinks Chie is the IF of Persona which is a no-no. Anyways I did the math and made the results turn into a ratio for Dacid. It is now a 5.625-4.375 matchup in Aki's favor lulz.
