Since it seems like several of you guys are losing hype for p4, I guess I'll just stick to playing it at a casual level and get into GG when it's released. If BBCP is popular I'll probably get into it too.

Being excited about seeing someone whose extremely well-known for whatever particular reason isn't something out of the ordinary or a big deal. I think it's pretentious to look down on someone for who they admire/look up to/etc. I don't think most people are under the impression that top players can't be wrong, but it would be silly not to genuinely take into consideration what someone who has proven themselves has to say. At any rate, welcome to our community. New faces are always nice. Anyway, I should be there on the 13th, but I don't think I'll be ready to take you guys' money yet. You can take some of mine T_T

So... I've been MIA for the past several days because I've found myself unable to stop playing league. Bad midnight. bad. I'm not going to be able to make it on saturday. Car won't be fixed till monday =/

While I'm not necessarily of the opinion that playing others is "solely" what makes someone better, I completely believe that it is the most significant factor in becoming a better player at any game. You can only go so far with training mode. Use it to learn your bnbs and to simulate certain scenarios that will help you in knowing what you can or can't do in an actual match. Past that, it isn't going to get you very far. The most important aspect of succeeding in a fighting game is to be able to reliably understand how your opponent thinks and take advantage of that. Training mode can't prepare you at all for playing against actual people. In training mode, you're playing against a poor AI who cannot pick up on nuances in playstyle, where in real life, people can read their opponent and have the ability to capitalize on it if the opponent refuses to adjust his playstyle to cope (which is why many people fail to progress very far. Players who may have great execution and theoretical match-up knowledge but constantly eat/don't punish the same things over and over are not truly good players). In other news, my car will be fixed soon. I don't know if it will be fixed by the 31st, though. Keep your fingers crossed ;D
