Yeah, I played against a really good roboky this past saturday and it made me realize just how little I know about him. I'm reading up on his data info and strat guide to see just what the hell is happening. Hopefully after I play him again this coming saturday, I'll have some good info I can use to writeup a matchup here.

Careful! 1 aerial counterhit from a level 2 missile and roboky can followup with an airdash into another lvl2 missile. If you get hit by both, you become dizzied = instant kill

Hey guys, I went to AX today and had a chance to try out BlazBlue, so for those of you who are interested in the game I can say a few things... If you like characters like Dizzy because of her summons, Rachel is the one to look at (looks like a witch). She has some funny summons such as a pink frog that hops along the ground then bursts into electricity, which keeps the opponent stunned and shocked for quite a while. She also has some other projectiles that bounce off your opponent then stays on the ground as a light-pole-looking-fixure that you can set off later, which does some sort of lightning damage that covers a lot of area. I think you can have about 4 of these out at a time, since that's the most I saw on screen at once. Although gameplay-wise, I'd have to say she's a lot more like Testament than Dizzy. If you like Dizzy because of her quick airdashes and mixups, then you'd probably appreciate Taokaka(?) a lot more (the character that resembles a cat). I've only had a chance to play her once and I had no idea what I was doing, but she is able to roll out bowling balls that can either drop on the floor and roll, go horizontally across screen, or be tossed at an angle (similar to Cable's grenades from MvC2, except they go all the way across screen). She has some REALLY quick airdashes that zoom all over the place, which I think is an attack move. That's what makes her so fun, although she does die pretty quick, just like Dizzy. The character that resembles Ky is also pretty sweet, he wields a katana and uses it in his attacks quite a bit. He can also summon slow-moving projectiles both from the ground and in the air, and he can also ride along with it. Not so interested in the other characters :p although their design is pretty awesome. I thought Noel was gonna be sweet but when I saw how she played I was a little disappointed. Once again I don't know much about how the system works, so I can't say much more. I don't even know what all the buttons are >< What I do know is that there seems to be a burst, although I think after a burst you take extra damage because you deplete your guard bar or whatever that bar below your lifebar is. Romancancel is in the game, and throws are actually a button of itself (instead of forward+hardslash). Also it seems like OTG combos are a major part of the game, when you hit the floor your opponent can still run up and pick you up again so you have to "tech" off the floor, sort of like tekken I guess. Anyway I guess this is pretty off topic but I'm pretty excited about this game, I can't wait until it comes out (although I don't even have a ps3...)

Nice video, reminds me of the makoto match I saw on youtube where he keeps doing the airdashes against potemkin, and also because of the color (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiVAiD07sog). Be careful though, although it seems like this potemkin isn't used to it, people will catch on sooner or later Pretty solid play, can't say much without being picky... maybe get down the timing between fish summons? @Saros: Yeah I totally understand. When I did option select in reload i was using a pad, so I just use my thumb for everything. I guess I just have to practice getting down the length difference between my middle finger and ring finger :p @stinky: Ah I get it now, didn't know VCL becomes airborne right from the 1st frame.

Yeah, if you whiff the j.K and your opponent blocked high on the bubble, then it works 100%

Ya, counterhit only. BTW excellence that's an interesting combo, I'm assuming the first laser is hitting Ky between the 2S and the 421 right? Another 2H (counterhit) combo, works midscreen: 2H > 214H~H > dash > 5K > f.S > icespike FRC > IAD > 214K > (laser) > j.H > (land) > 421 > jump > j.H > 214K ]S[ > j.H (pop) > (land) > jump > j.S > DJ > j.P > j.S > j.H Works only if opponent is launched into the corner by the icespike. Substitute j.H with j.K if you need to hit sooner.

I don't quite understand what you mean by the TK bubbles. Anyway, if you like the old input better that's fine too. I think the new one is more advantageous in most situations, eg. while you are blocking, 63214(instant block)6+P, or using it on wakeup (shorter input string = faster to execute for quick decision changes).

It depends on the character really, some characters are able to jump block the 214H, some aren't. The ones that have more delay when waking up probably can't jump in time (JA, AB, ZA, etc)

The only characters it doesn't work on are Zappa and Anji. It even works on Faust, granted he is blocking and not crouch walking. However, against I-no, Jam, Millia, and Eddie, you have to have the lowest possible IAD for it to hit, which you most likely won't get 100% of the time. Therefore as a general rule of thumb, I never try the IAD > j.2S mixups against these characters.

Haha, it's got some good use as a reversal also, although the input in #Reload is considerably harder than in AC.

I dunno if I can call it a regular basis, but yes everytime I play GG this johnny player is there He usually comes over to pick me up as he's on his way to a nearby gathering (since I don't have a car).

Totally, 2HS is definitely not safe to throw around recklessly. The midscreen highjump crossup actually starts off from a failed 2D special cancel. I've found that when I miss my 2D > icespike, a superjump always results. It's not that bad of a result, however, like you pointed out, it can be used as a crossup into airdash, or into (land) > 2K > 2D > icespike, so has high/low potential also.

If you're talking about the stun trap in the corner with bubbles, fuzzy guards, 421S, check out this post. It's just a trick, and there's an easy way to get out of the stunlock. Or are you talking about using imperial ray's freezescreen?

I'd say imperial ray would be your best option to catch him after the bubble, but from the looks of it he was set on neutral tech and you might not even catch a back/forward teching opponent with imperial ray. However, if your airthrow + bubble pop was closer to the ground, the story changes

Nice, it seems like a corner option. Be careful using this though, as opponents will usually opt for a forward tech when against the corner, and it seems like this setup won't catch a forward teching opponent.
