Not to mention you kinda have to know they're backdashing and if you fuck up and they block jayoku, Arakune will probably get a full curse on you. big price for trying to stop his backdash.
-
Yeah after some testing as well, the only way to stop his backdash is to call it out. Edit: You can sometimes punish him with 214D~A (the charged version will clip him for sure for a combo) and by doing IAD j.2C but you kinda have to know the backdash is coming.

Dead spike has 54 frames of recovery which gives anybody way more than enough time to jump forward and come down on ragna with a jump in. I guess you could also get that smart mash as it has 28 frames of start up. The trick is to not get predictable with dead spike or else it becomes a dead pressure tool. But the punishment for trying to get out of dead spike from ragna not very scary.

Ragna: DEADU *Opponent jumps* Ragna: SPI...WUT?

Real Talk: Buppa is not very good with Hazama. He gets stomped on by players who know how to shut down Hazama's pressure and rush down, He pushes alot of buttons and beats up on alot of opponents that let him get away with dumb and predictable stuff. On top of that he can't zone very well. (Not saying I'm better than him) This match is nowhere near even. Ragna has ID but his reward is not very good unless he want to burn the 50 meter for the RC to get a nice combo. If you bait ID and he Rapid cancels, your in pressure or he could run away, but his mix up is butt and you win the neutral game.
-
Man we need another mod. No disrespect to Zidane. How do we get a new one?
-
Shouldn't this be moved? Btw this match up is straight up bad for arakune.
-
Why is every match up forum vs. Tager always super complete and informative? It's like every scene no matter where has a Tager player they like to beat up on for the lols.
-
Ragna is slow and easy to zone out. He has no way to get across the screen in a timely manner, cept ya'know full screen hell's fang lol. You have better normals than he does (3C and 2B make his 5B look like a bitch), and you have better oki and damage. He has ID yes, but if you bait it out you get 6K minimum which is more than HALF of Ragna's life or you get a burst out of them which is good too since Ragna has no defense options or mix up. There should hardly be any trouble in this match for Hazama, it's an S tier character beating up on a mediocre character.

Hazama can be a complete faggot and run away the whole match and Carl can't really catch him. He can use the doll to attempt to snatch you out of the air but he will be wasting too much doll meter to keep this up longer than a few attempts. MOST IMPORTANT TOOLS IN THIS MATCH UP. (Other than chains) 3C and 214D~A Both of these moves with hit nirvana GO THROUGH HER and hit carl. This makes the match up a pain in the ass for carl because you can do damage to the doll up close, have the move continue through nirvana to make carl block, which in turn deactivates the doll and puts carl in pressure. These moves make carl want to cry to his SIS!!!!!

This match in CS2 is in Hazama's favor imo. Hakumen's lower damage means you can take more risks and he has to hit you more. You can easily run away from Hakumen all day and you can punish him for trying to cut chains (The risk reward for attempting to cut certain chains is not in Hakumen's favor). Most importantly you can rush Hakumen down easily and there's hardly anything he can do about it if you play smart. Oh and you can combo off 214D~A, which makes 214D~C even easier to hit in this match up. Note: TK hotaru is not a true DP

I think this match up is in Hazama's favor actually. Just don't get cheesed out
-
So anybody want to speculate on how Hazama is going to get butt raped in BB3?
-
We good, we good? is it safe yet? lol
-
Hands down he is the best Hazama in the US, I don't think anybody could argue otherwise.
-
Is this over yet? Can we talk about something useful to the forums now? or is it not safe to come back yet?
-
Dacidbro's math is incorrect that is all. I'm done with this argument he can keep getting wrecked by this so called GODLIKE pressure all he wants, It's not my problem. Dacid is still wrong but I'm tired and want to talk about something else, Like the match up forums or something

2A is +1 and staggerable yes, but it has alot of push back. Alot character has some weird shit going on with their normals. Litchi's 2A is jump cancelable, bangs is a low, and Hakumen has frame advantage up the butthole just to name a few. Jabaki has too much push back to be used as effectively as you think, if you do 2A>5B Jabaki the opponent will be pushed too far to continue pressure they can just jump out.

I never said playing footsies with Satoshi was easy bro and I never said you were to stupid to play neutral game, I apologize if you took great offense to my joking comments. Dacidbro stop being so butt hurt. :3 It's only as strong as you let it be as I posted a few pages back. -The frame advantage is large because his only long reaching moves are 3C and 2B which hardly give any reward unless CH. If his normals did not give any frame advantage they would be very horrible and short ranged normals. - Alot of character's get a huge payout for frame trapping, although Hazama has the best reward with 50 meter. Gotta learn that smart mash. -Command grab is strong and maybe borderline broken. I think it was necessary for CS1 Hazama as his mixup was poor, but in CS2 it's overkill as his reward for getting a low or you being hit for trying to jump out of command grab is way to high with 50 meter. -There are hardly any character's that have a penalty for backing off if any at all. His pressure is strong but defiantly not auto pilot but CAN be run that way if you let him.
-
Stay Dacidbro, Dacidbro. :3

I saw what I saw when I watched you vs. Satoshi and I stand by my assumption.

I disagreed with you saying bangs match ups are bad, which they really aren't imo he can get in and open people up the majority of the time, I just stated that his only problem is damage, which means you have to hit the opponent more and get hit less aka play better. 5B is still pretty good, just don't go wiffing it everywhere in front of a japanese squirrel's face and get blown up for spacing like an idiot.

Makoto's orb was obviously made for oki, but makoto's orb still gets beat by wake up supers and DP's, same with Arakune (I think Arakune has to guess which option you do on wake up to punish you properly) daisharin on the other hand covers EVERY single option the opponent attempts to do. The only 100% way of getting out of daisharin is counter assault > rapid cancel. Daisharin is the uncontested best oki tool in the game.
-
Bang's match ups aren't really that bad imo. I think between bumpers, frkz(it was nerfed bad, not gonna lie),and his mobility, Bang has the tools to overcome any match up in the game. The Bang player will just have to work A LITTLE bit harder, no match is a real up hill battle for Bang. Also Bang will just have to play smarter, he can't just throw D nails whenever he feels uncomfortable and get 3K off random hits in neutral anymore. One area we can all agree with though is Bang is COMPLETELY outclassed in the damage department vs. other characters and Bang's risk/reward for calling dumb shit out is not in his favor unfortunately. On this note Bang will just have to hit the opponent more and not get hit himself (aka play better). Not saying your a bad player dacidbro, you beat me up really bad in California and I expect you to get very far at evo, but I just think if you had a mindset that "If I played my best all the time even though I play a lower tier character I will still win anyway."
-
Thank you for proving my point. Yes the majority of the options are punishable after bang jumps which is the point and yes you cannot cover all the options no matter what you do. But the odds are stacked against bang in this situation. You can jump and try to air grab bang if it wiffs then no biggie come back to the ground and block. You can use your fast anti air like 2A and if bang double jumps 2A will recover then you can smack him with 2C or collider. There are also countless other options to get out as well once bang hits the air. Bangs pressure is bad, jump canceling was never really a good way to apply pressure in BB, but i guess if you want to get ran by it, you can get ran by it. Not my problem I'm not taking this personally, I'm just calling out a dumb scrub.
