  4. Figured this would be the right place to say this... In the vid posting thread, the most recent post calls the Jam vids from mikado "scrub play". I would disagree 100% with this. It just looks that way because, guess what, AC Jam is a really really fucking stupid character. Awesome vids overall, a lot of big names!
  5. Hmm, speaking of 5D, has anyone noticed that a couple characters can fake that now? I've definitely seen it with Slayer & May. Dunno about anyone else. Axl can fake his unblockable, too. Actually useful since he can catch jumpers with strong combos.

  7. Yeah Jam is real silly. drzero7: Here are some important additions for Pot: - The 2S vacuum. This adds to both his combos and his mixups; he can hammerfall break -> buster very quickly from it, and he can now combo 2H from 2S. Some examples: Slide Head, Hammerfall Break, 5K -> 2S -> 2H -> Heavenly Pot Buster 5K -> 5S -> 2S -> 2H -> Heat Knuckle or HPB. - The air Pot Buster is useful. If the beat counter isn't too high, I believe he can perform all his old Pot Buster combos in the corner. He can even combo into it, though it requires an immediate jump cancel before. To see what I mean, here's one of his new B&B's: 5K -> 5S -> 2S -> 2H -> Hammerfall Break, j.P -> j.K -> JC, air Buster. I have heard that you can even "tick throw" in the air with it, but have not seen this yet. - The Pot Buster FRC is nice, as it allows him to deal more damage and leave the opponent knocked down next to him. 2S seems to be all that combos from it at midscreen, but that allows you to finish with Heat or HPB. - Apparently Giganter is more comboable now...vs. Testament I have seen this one: 5K -> 5S -> 2S -> 2H -> Giganter -> Bullet, 2S -> Heat. Crazy damage + close knockdown! - j.S causes a bounce on CH now. This is especially good because you can chain j.S -> j.H, and even if it hits early you can still land and combo into Heat or whatever. - Minor but cool detail: He can FDB supers again! Hopefully all of this gives you an idea of how much better he is. I still see Eddie as a likely bad matchup for him, but he seems to be able to at least compete with everyone else. As for ABA, this one is all about the EX purple shit. That thing has a ton of super armor and launches, and I have seen matches where she wins mostly by spamming it (especially nasty on wakeup). However, this may just be "day 1 tech", so to speak - it IS possible to hit her out of it, so perhaps people will figure out how to do this consistently. Otherwise she appears to be the same as in Slash, except with weaker rekkas (cause slide now instead of bounce) and no IK glitch. And to be an off-topic douche: Look at the Ko-Hatsu blog. Right at the top is a fat Zasalamel charging his LAZURS, I shit you not.

  9. The difference, though, is this game has actual variety, while almost everyone in HnK is like a slower Magneto. It's nothing new really, Sirlin and others have long suggested that this would make for an ideal tournament game, and I agree. AC is what Guilty Gear *should* be, imo.

  12. Well, Slide Head causes sliding state so that's why those combos work. Off of any other knockdown, 5K is a plain ol' OTG. Pot seems busted for most matchups, but I don't see how he's going to hang with Eddie. That guy looks amazing AGAIN...
  13. I agree that ABA seems crazy good in this game. However, I wonder if getting killed by random knockdowns will keep her from the top...characters like Baiken, Eddie, & Pote also have broken stuff and are free of that level of risk. *shrug*
  14. Is gunflame feint untechable on OTG hit? I've seen people use that move there and it never gets teched. *shrug*
  15. You can't combo anything from air PB i think. Comboing air PB straight from 6P should work. 2H -> hammerfall i dunno about. About the only thing that reaches the enemy after pot buster FRC is 2S, as they are already kinda far away and low to the ground by that point. air PB should grab bursts, dunno though. can't answer the rest of your questions. =/ Hope this helps some!

  17. Thanks for the help guys. =) After watching some more, I can now safely say that counterhit FDB is almost completely nerfed. No wall bounce even, it just knocks them all the way across the screen. With all the other crap he's got, though, i am sure we'd gladly accept that. =) Also, can Faust crouch under 6H? Sure looks like it in vids...if so, this could be a particularly tough matchup for Pote. He already seems to have a hard enough time dealing with Faust's zoning, but maybe I'm missing something. You can combo into air Pot Buster - I saw someone perform 6P, j.P->j.K->APB. Better versions should be possible, I figure. Also, it seems to leave you closer than the normal Pot Buster. Here's something nobody's brought up yet: He can combo after throw FRC with 2H -> Heat or HPB...at midscreen. Wasn't this corner-only in Slash? It also seems like you may be able to pull off 5S->2S->Heat and other offshoots. And for one final tidbit, here's a juicy combo from 6K: 6K -> 2H -> Giganter -> Bullet, 2S -> Heat. The full super just barely connects on Testament, so I'm not sure how that would translate to other characters. Maybe on heavyweights, you could even land 2H -> Giganter after a launch...
  18. I could've sworn I've seen people jump out of 6H -> slide head somehow (probably that FD jump)...hence, why I was talking about cancelling to knuckle sometimes. Also, of course, once they get used to 6H you can just slide head as they wake up. The Japanese use this to great effect. Never knew there was a level 6 btw...
  19. Gawd damn AC Potemkin looks awesome. =) So about this 6H -> Slide Head thing...I would assume you could cancel to Heat Knuckle instead if you think they'll jump? Still doesn't work with reversals, but it seems like Slide Head usually leaves you safe if they try one. As can be seen in one of the vids, you can also combo 5K -> 2S -> 2H -> Heavenly Pot Buster after a Slide Head. I hear you can combo 2S -> Knuckle after FRC Buster...I would assume 2S -> 2H -> HPB works there also. Counterhit FDB causes wall bounce now IIRC. I forget if that's actually it, but I know it's not the vertical launch from previous games anymore. =( His DAA seems exactly the same. Should still be able to land the 6H from afar, or actual combos near the corner. Someone on here said you could combo from Air Pot Buster. Haven't seen it yet though. The new j.S bounce is a great addition, as you can combo from it even if it hits early. I've seen Pot bait a slow move and perform combos that go something like this: Early CH j.S -> j.H, land, close S -> far S -> Knuckle. These changes look to be for the better overall. The key is getting real damage + close knockdown after Slide Head...that makes his wakeup games much scarier. Potemkin...top tier? =D

  21. Hmm, it seems like they changed the dizzy system to mirror 3rd Strike's - continuing a combo will keep them stunned. Also: in 200612220026.avi, is it just me or does that Sol remind you a lot of MIU? Lots of instant air VV, and even the whiffed Fafnir in wakeup games. Mad fun! =)
  22. It looks like this is finally becoming the type of game to interest me. Namely, a game with batshit insane tech all over the place. I may seriously get into this...
