I dont know TOO much about guilty gear, but it feels like the scale of power they're commonly playing with is much higher in the BB universe, and Blood Kain/Idea Ragna seems to thoroughly steamroll pretty much every enemy. How strong is full gear Sol? We talking Black Beast level, Susonoo 100% level, Hakumen/Blood Kain level, or Rachel Alucard / Yuuki Terumi level?

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Remius replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
I really hope that's the case. The old version of character switches is so jarring. -
I shouldn't have to physically ask permission to join a room just to play a few matches. When I said the BB community felt reclusive/introverted, thats exactly what I mean. I can understand the anal connection restrictions (although personally I dont think the indicator is very good at all). But the Pslots are just annoying. No new Blazblue player is going to waste their time fumbling with the XMB and looking up forums in order to join a room. I don't have to know about Zaibasu or Eventhubs ect. in order to enjoy SF4/TTT2/MvC's online modes. It's like i have to join a fanclub just to play with 90% of the online players. I wish I could screenshot this player match screen. Im just saying, you know.

One problem about Blazblue in general that ive realized after playing other games like SF and Tekken is, its community probably has alot to do with why its the way it is. The netplay of this game is pretty terrible. Coming back, I'm hardpressed to ever find a room because they're either connection locked or (more often than anything) filled with Pslots. The few rooms that are open are like -/6 rooms filled with people. I dont know why, but popping this game back into my PS3, BB online feels like an incredibly reclusive community. Nobody wants to message you to get permission to join a private slotted room, and BB's netcode is pretty good so connection issues shouldn't be an excuse. Just trying to play matches with people to get a feel back has been a chore.

BlazBlue Question Thread - Ask your questions here!
Remius replied to KayEff's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Think hes screwed in the sense that pretty much nobody is combo-less, so i guess he'd want to go with people with the easiest to execute...? In which case i'd say start Ragna or Noel. Ragna's combos are pretty basic, and i dont know about newer noel, but learning her Silencer loop really trained my fingers for everything else. -
females are very liberal with the word "perverted" and "creep" on the internet. I think it's almost like, a defense mechanism or something, but to what i have no clue havent played in literally a month, who wants to roflstomp my ass
-
I saw a ragna spam 5A towards the end of a match once, Platinum does heartcar, heartcar clashes, platinum dies gained a new respect for mashing

- ' I might be on in a while, just....dont put any restrictions on the room

Your point? judgement =/= observation i just never realized how ridiculous the following combo proration was because the only time i'd use that move outside combos is during AntiAir. In which case it isn't something one should disregard. Happens to me 24/7, i usually just attribute it to mashing or my shitty controller happen I to be facing Left, but i think this is a much better excuse. Nothing better than getting rushed down by someone and trying to use your super that would most definitely save you, only to be counterhit out of something. Pretty much every QCB>6 motion does this to me, but on my most gloriously mashy of days i can fuck up 236236 too!

Ohhhhh my holy god im gonna start using FRKZ now. I can't do any of his actual BNBs, but.... 6C >5C >6D >Daifunka = 6582 damage. Wow. its 4 fucking moves and its easy as hell. GGs to whomever i trolled / got raped by today. It's getting increasingly difficult to even play people online these days though, since everyone is so tightassed about connections.
-
Oh god i lol'd once a room passes 3 people im gone the moment i fucking lose Even better if i manage to keep the room past the Hosts' turn and the room magically disbands
-
oh my god GGs to...damn forgot his name. Whoever was in the West Coast room. I got bored and left when too many people showed up. GGs to Toasty, dude did you see that Plat vs Tager match i had before you came in? I lost it in the end, but i saved it because of how godlike round 2 was. Heartcar to punish a walking tager on netplay is priceless

Regardless of who's observing him, it still stands that Hakumen is still a fighter at less than half his full strength throughout the story events. At 20% power he was able to drop pretty much everyone, minus Rachel, Terumi or Blazblue Ragna. On CS, he's probably equaling Rachel in power, which is somewhere close to where Terumi stands, which is probably higher but nobody really knows (bottom line, they'd probably stalemate before a clear winner). Blazblue Ragna is obviously higher than everyone since he curbstomps Terumi. As for hakumen, even if he was at 50% of his strength, which i doubt he is, nobody is a match for the full-powered Hakumen. And the reason Jubei got his ass kicked in CS is because he got blindsided by Nine, or whoever that Phantom is. Apparently, that pure magic trumps pretty much everything in the storyline.
-
ok ok, calm down....i wont ask you to play with me.
-
People seem to keep forgetting, Hakumen is operating with only 20% of his power during all storymode events.

XMB is pathetically slow and i hate sending messages unless some funny shit happened / im trying to troll someone. That, and....i mean really, 3 connection or 0 connection, my lag seems completely unrelated as of late. It seems like EVERYONE is on a 0 connection now regardless if they're a 2, 3 or -7, and even still i may get a spike at some point. Im just tired of fishing for rooms to play in. If you're going to Pslot EVERY spot in your room, i can eventually get over that garbage because i get it. But if you're gonna leave it open but still connection block it...feels like you're wasting your time. It seems to only be accurate for people in your immediate area anyway. Last time i saw an ACTUAL 3-star connection, i was in an East Coast room. Im in Georgia. Everywhere else? 00000000000000000000000. I play, feels like a 3. Might lag a bit on startup, but Blazblue's netcode is godlike, despite what some people claim. As long as the guy isn't too overeager to mash with their character and skip the intro, it should be fine by ACTION! Time. If not? Mash purple grab and leave/get kicked. Edit: FUCKERS i just 6D'd a Counter Assault with noel. Shit went over my head and i won.
-
Once again i reiterate. Idiots. Stop putting the connection block on your rooms.

tried to get into melty blood. Too gay. I mean im sure the game is cool and all, but that roster...jesus christ. It's like the same shovel face anime chick with a slightly different outfit. I'd never get caught playing that crap. GGs to whoever i played today.
-
Yesterday I played Ragna and threw out ALOT of deadspike. It is a ridiculously useful move, i have no idea why Ragnas only cornerspam it.
-
Ragna vs tager Ragna trolls tager with a bunch of pokes Ragna laughs at tager Why isn't tager dead yet Ragna gets magnatized Ragna loses
-
Kokono- Edit: ACTUALLY....you know what, Litchi is one. I never really enjoyed fighting her, especially during CS because of how broken she was, but she has some of the coolest looking combo flow ive seen in a fighting game.

X = "THROW REJECT MISS" X = "THROW REJECT MISS" X = "THROW REJECT MISS" this is what i live for

Her combos are easy to do. Learning how to use her real efficiently is more about learning to use her lasers right, which is a bit different. I learn something new almost everytime i use her. The thing cookie is probably having issues with (well me anyway) is the fact that when people dont crumple to your pressure, Mu has a really, really hard time getting the ball rolling. You can zone with her and get free approaches with steins and command laser, but people who don't let you do this can generally walk over you. Aside from her range and braindead AntiAir, she's pretty slow and squishy. All Lambda needs to zone you is space, whereas Mu needs space and time. People who can beat/equal your range, or people who can shut down your zoning give her problems. This is why i hate Mu vs Lambda (too fast), Jin (too gay), Hakumen (lol drive LOL LASERSLICE) and sometimes bang (he can Drive your range and lasers, but one fuckup usually changes people's mind.). Tager is like, Mu's absolute best matchup, but even this can be a chore. Fighting tager is braindead for mu....until you get cocky and get caught, and then shit is drastically different. Even thought you can win without getting touched, that's generally what you HAVE to do. Especially now since he gets 4k off meterless combos and can Gadget Finger like, fucking everything. But this is why i still play Blazblue. Because unlike in fuckass Street Fighter, this game is built around counter strategy mechanics instead of fucking hitboxes. It's fun finding ways around issues, only for the next round to start and the person plays completely differently. I rage when i lose but I have alot of respect for this game design wise. Unless you use Jin. This is precisely why i started using her in the first place -- she has VERY high situational damage, and has loootsss of neat tools and traps at her disposal. Predicting correctly has great rewards with Mu, but even if you predict wrong you have alot of ways to escape pressure. I think thats why she's so attractive as a main to me.

Works equally for every character. I used to like her alot more before she was supposedly S-Tier...Now you have to deal with The Ragna Syndrome, where everyone warms up to your shit quicker because alot more people use her. It's impossible to perfect anyone IMO. Someone else will always come by with this character you rarely play and some tactic you've never seen and wreck your shit. It's just the wonder of a good fighting game, i guess. But to be 100% honest, Mu is one of the easier characters to learn. Not as easy as she was in CS1, but almost everything about her is better now, except for the fact that i can't get 5k off a j.2C midscreen anymore. She gets ridiculous damage and her corner combos are actually pretty difficult to drop. Unless your controller turns all your 2Cs into 3Cs like mine. She has a few braindead oki setups, but back in CS1, a typical laser setup did wakeup oki for you...
