[CS2] Platinum the Trinity Combo Guide and Discussion
SolarMisae replied to Urichinan's topic in Archive
Messing around with Plat again. This might be useless, but I like the pan too much to stop messing with it. xD Dokaaaan... Frying pan combo for about 4k. And no the 6C doesn't have to be fatal. Works from about 3/4th screen, maybe further if you dash deep. I didn't test it too much. I think they'll be too high up for the air combo to connect if you're too far. 6C > j.236C > j.C > 6A > 236B > (dash) 5D > 5B > 5C > SJC > Air Combo 1 Does 4054 and gains 31 heat. -
YES a new member in the league of Dat Ass. And I definitely agree, Mu is the most fun character out of the cast imo. She takes a lot of work but she's worth it. I did the same thing. Messed with her and never gave it another thought till one day I decided to try again. Then fell in love. ^^
-
So I don't play Tao, BUT I fight Mystic d once a week. I figure knowing her options against Mu would be useful to know, for both Mu players and Tao players.
-
I love origins. So long as you don't get it baited it gets you outta so much. Plus is just looks badass. While playing casuals last week a guy who was watching who doesn't play BB had to comment "Jesus the hitbox on that diamond is crazy, holy crap!" But yeah, I'll definitely start IB DP'ing her 6A when I see it coming now.
-
There you go, thats the cancel I was thinking of. I always wait it out anyways.
-
Woooo~! Hype for Story Mode art. You are awesome Circ ilu.

Staying in the air is REALLY good against her I find... If you super jump, and start setting steins from as high up as you can get you're actually out of reach of her anti air. If she tries to rush in while you're doing it dash over her head, set up another stein and toss out Habaya to prevent her from rushing in. I find this matchup is definitely best played at 5C range and while airborne. The only real threat you take in the air is getting air thrown by her. Other than that she would be dumb to be in the air versus you. I spam the shit out of Totsuka in this match. It keeps her in check and forces her to stay blocking. I set it out when I get time then while she blocks that I'll set up even more and then toss out Habaya. You really wanna make her come to you. Tsubaki has NO CHOICE but to rush at you eventually because her range is pretty much terrible on everything but 5B. You really wanna keep her locked down till she messes up. And she will eventually. A dumb Tsubaki who rushes in senselessly will eat a 5C to the face if she's not careful. Anyways, don't get your DP baited. The Tsubaki I play LOVES to do this to me, but I've managed to stop falling for this one. Don't be scared of Tsubaki's pressure. Don't respect it too much. I just wait it out really...since her only real overhead is her 6A and thats stupidly easy to react to. Learn what that move looks like and IB it. It's a pretty bad move and you can punish her for it even on normal block iirc. Although I THINK she can cancel it to make it safe, I'm not sure. I usually just block it and move away though. Edit: Yeah, I was right she can cancel it and CH you out of any punish attempts. So yeah just wait it out. I find it's not too hard to block her stuff. Anyways this matchup isn't too bad once you get a feel for your spacing. If you get those first steins out Tsubaki is gonna have a real hard time getting close to you.

You are the master of dat ass, C0R. That combo is damn awesome.
-
A go-to combo section I think would still be great idea. As well as maybe some encouragement to go through her challenge mode. I've already completed it but I got through it again every now and then just because it's pretty useful. But just small a list of the absolutely necessary combos to start off with, and then yes then all the PROSHIZ after that. I find she's a character that once you have a feel for her, you can pretty much figure out whats the most optimal out of the lists after all. Also, can't wait to see dat new j.C CH combo. I'm throughly hyped. :3
-
Naw not stealing thunder. I'm doing this more for myself anyways. I was actually going through pretty much everything, not so much just beginner stuffs. :3 Great list man, thanks. This is her challenge combo eh? Isn't there supposed to be a j.C between the 2C and the j.2C? Thats how I always do this one thats why. Just curious. :3
-
I'm actually sitting down and trying to gather all her basic combos off of her most common hit confirms from both midscreen and in the corner. (From stuff like 2A, 5B, 2B, 5C etc...) Also taking down damage/heat gain. If I can manage to get it done I'll post what I got. I agree that it'd be a good idea to have a list of all the most ideal combos off of her normals in one place.
-
o.o; You all right man? xD
-
I played a Noel once and all i did was stay full screen and set up 5D > 2D > j.D > j.2D over and over and over, then when he tried to run in I just used Tsunugui to throw him fullscreen again and went back to what I was doing. =3=; It was funny. I didn't get flamed but mostly because this Noel is my friend. He didn't know how to fight Mu so I trolled him during our first match. >>;

I HIGHLY doubt I'd be a very good trainer, I'm still learning myself, but I can offer some general advice. :3 I switched form Lambda to Mu myself. Mu is NOTHING like Lam, and is a really tough character to just pick up. Just knowing combos is one thing, but she's much more than that. She can't zone nearly as well as Lambda. Unlike Lam her damage doesn't come from her zoning but from her scary corner game and her oki. It was a TOTALLY different thing going from Nu/Lam to Mu for me. I personally found I liked her more, because she was such a strong mindgame character..she was just really interesting and gave me more to do than just zone all day. But I also found she's way more work, with Lambda I found I could learn combos and just run and pick up decent damage just from zoning. But with Mu that isn't the case at all. You really have to scare your opponents. It's all about lockdown and spacing with her and not so much zoning. Although she does zone. The best thing you can do is to start leaning her pressure and her setup game. Her combos are completely useless without those. Learn how to create and maintain your laser wall, and how to gain momentum. Learn to find time to set up steins, and don't ever try to play her without them. These are an AMAZING tool. Also, unlike Lambda she has a reversal that she can use at any time. And it's good...very good. Just don't get baited, it's pretty punishable. (But really, what reversal isn't.) But yeah, learn lockdown, learn setups. Learn to devour your opponents delicious guard primers ahaha. Anyways, all that aside...the main reason I ended up dropping Lambda entirely was because I personally found I enjoyed Mu more, but she was a lot of work for use as sub character. I've been playing her for like half a year and I still don't feel anywhere near good enough yet. Expect to have to put a lot of time in if you want to be good with her, but she's TOTALLY worth it imo. I'd train with you but I still have a terrible connection with pretty much anyone in the Mainland since I'm all the way out in Hawaii. I've since stopped playing online and switched to offline casuals.
-
So I don't play Tsubaki, but I'm really curious as to what kinds of things I can expect Tsubaki to be using against me. I've been fighting her a lot lately so knowing both sides would be great.
-
Okay I'm starting to rage at this matchup. She's so. Effin. Fast. I'm scared to put up even one stein lest she run up and knock me out of it. I try to stay airborne, super-jumping over her shit to get out some steins/totsuka but she's on me in a split second after that. I have to keep resetting the momentum over and over. Even if I get that laser out she of course just blocks it and I run in for a little pressure, hope she gets hit..if she doesn't and blocks my pressure I have to hope I can move away safely and it's back to playing run the hell away from the blind bitch until I can force her to block again. But at the same time I'm afraid to NOT do anything lest I let her build up all the charge she damn well pleases and use it to destroy me in two mistakes. It's frustrating to only mess up once or twice and die for it, yet mid screen if she messes up I don't get anywhere NEAR the payoff she does. ;[ I can NOT seem to keep that annoying girl in the corner at all. Also her 5B hitbox is still stupid. o.<; Edit: Okay after more matches it feels pretty even. You can't really "zone" her traditionally, but yeah 5C is gdlk in this matchup for keeping her from rushing in senselessly. 5C is like a frame slowly than her 5B but it's range is way better so it shuts that down. It's not a good idea to flat out zone her because she'll just try to charge. You wanna stay on her but not too close, staying out of her 5B range. It's good to stay in the air, throw out lots of Steins, Totsuka and Habaya. A smart Tsubaki won't challenge you in the air. If she does j.C dat shit, it beats out her everything. A smart Tsubaki won't approach you from the air often either, it's begging to get a 2C anti-air to the face. I found by trying to force her to come to me, while still always staying around or a little farther 5C max range was pretty good. Super jumping into steins then air-dash into more steins/habaya right over a Tsubaki who's running at you is also useful. (And fun. :3)

I fought a lot with Mystic d today. Tao is a fun though very challenging matchup. Mu should always be doing something. Spam the crap out of Habaya and DP, Tao doesn't really have an answer to those. Don't let her fly all over the place. I find the matchup highly depends on getting that first command laser out. Once you get her blocking she can't do anything without meter. If you can get steins out you can tame that cat. Her pressure is fast and flashy, but it's not as scary as it looks. You can DP her 6B on reaction easily if she tries that. Just IB DP a lot and get her off you. CA is good for getting her off too. And obviously, air throw is very good. I need to use it more frequently. Anyways she's annoying but not terrible to fight against if you can get that laser wall going. Edit: Oh also, I also noticed that if she EVEN tries to start up a 236C on you during a blockstring and you see it coming, you can 2B it. In fact you should even be able to 3C it for a counter hit iirc. I tested it a few times in training mode and could seem to poke her out of it on reaction with both 2B and 3C before the first downward slash even came out.

Who's the best zoner in this game? Do any of the characters excel in okizeme?
-
I wonder is the DB cab that was supposed to be in Hawaii still exists...D:
-
Ahhh, there we go. I keep forgetting about stein hits being part of combos now. I'll try again when I get more time to practice.
-
I don't know why but I REALLY like this combo. Great work Cor, you're awesome. :3 Edit: Okay I'm actually having trouble with the corner version now. I can do just fine up until 6A > j.C > j.2C. I cannot get j.2c to connect to complete the combo. The dummy techs before j.2C even comes out. Just wanna know why that would happen and/or what I'm doing wrong.
-
Yes sir. I'm hyped.
-
Thanks for that pochp. :3 And yeah, I totally agree. It'd be great to have a section at the top that lists the most practical and/or optimal combos from her most common hitconfirms. A list of important miscreen/corner/throw/etc combos that every Mu player should know, and grind till it's muscle memory. Especially the best BnB corner combos, seeing as nothing is really listed from things like 6B > SoD or 3C > SoD, and those moves are real staples into her pressure. It'd be a great place with the basics for new Mu players to start learning. (if there every are any...) xD
-
Whats the best combo off of a 2A in the corner? I've been doing 2A > 2B > 3C > SoD > 6A > 6B > dash 6A > 2C > j.C > j.2C > (j.D > habaya) oki stuffs. Is there something better I can be doing?

[CS1-CSE] Mu-12 Critique and Self-Improvement Thread
SolarMisae replied to FlyingVe's topic in Archive
Yeah 6B is not quite as punishable as it was in CS1. If the second hit connects canceling into SoD near the corner can net you so good damage/oki. Her BnB coner combos now set up some really vicious corner pressure, not to mention just raping people's primers. *evil laugh* I was surprised to see you post up Mu vids Tempest. :3 So not gonna fully drop her after all?
