  1. I definitely need to be using more totsuka then. I stopped using it as heavily after CS2 dropped to where I almost forgot about it. :3 Thanks for the tips guys.
  2. That pretty much. With the serious improvement to her gameplay and all the awesome stuff she got I was expecting to spot some new faces around here when CS2 dropped on consoles. D: I guess even though she's awesome, people still don't like that fact that she takes a lot of effort to use effectively. But thats what makes her fun imo. ;-; But yeah, anyways after watching those, the main thing I noticed as well was your hit-confirming. A lot of good clean counter hits didn't get followed up, or the followups were dropped or blackbeat. But honestly I can't follow up anything online so I'm one to talk. xD; I really can't offer much, I'm not that great of a player myself. Also vs. the Noel I don't understand something you did. You got a 6B hit rather close to the corner and RC'd into 3C. This isn't so much critique as it is a question out of my own curiosity as to what you were going for there. I always cancel 6B near the corner into Furu No Tsurugi and was just wondering if there was a different more damaging/optimal combo you were going for....?
  3. Having trouble getting that 3rd rep on Jin. I just can't make that 66A > 6C connect right. Should I be delaying the 6A...or doing the 6C faster? Absolute Noel newb here by the way. >.<;
  4. Yeah, I found out that one the hard way. She's scary fast, but it's not so bad if you can lock her down. Thanks Cor.
  5. Been fighting Tsubaki a lot lately. All I can say, this matchup is either hell or okay depending on who gets momentum first. Like above people have said, you can't really zone her out for TOO long or she'll just build up charge or abuse the 236x series, or both. Her 5B has WAY more range then you would expect when you see it. I keep getting shocked at it's range...I try to toss out a 5C CH thinking I'm in a safe range but get beat out. Space REALLY carefully against her. Get her in the corner and do NOT let her get out. I find if I can manage to push Tsubaki in a corner, I can keep her locked down pretty easily. But if she manages to escape and gets even one hit in it becomes a much harder fight. Anyways, I have A LOT of trouble keeping my momentum in this matchup. I don't know how to approach her effectively. I can generally keep her out pretty okay, but just DP'ing over and over isn't netting me much damage. The Tsubaki I'm playing has also gotten wise to my airthrows and anti-air attempts, so she's stopped approaching from the air too frequently. She's also starting to bait my DP so I'm being cautious throwing it out now, and trying to avoid becoming too predictable. So, how do I approach Tsubaki safely? Should I be using more Totsuka? (I probably don't use Totsuka often enough these days...) I don't wanna stay fullscreen too long because she'll just charge, but I also don't wanna mindlessly rush in and get hit in the face.
  6. Yeah, her pressure is fast and looks flashy but it's not frightening..just....fast. A little hard to follow so you gotta watch real close to what she's doing. Anyways, I had a quite a few matches with Mystic D the other evening. This feels like a very very tough matchup for Platinum. The bat is your "get the hell off of me damn cat" button, but use with caution. The kitty hammer can be good for smacking her out of the air but it's really slow. Normal hammer can also smack her out of the air and get you a nice counter hit combo if she tries using her drive to charge at you. There just isn't really too much Plat can do against her though. All I can say is CA useful, don't be afraid to push buttons against her, and try not to stay blocking for too long. She'll just keep her endlessly fast pressure on you, and eventually she'll try to throw you. You wanna zone her out, and try to keep her out of the air until you can get momentum, then rush her down and start pressure. Try to get her into the corner and KEEP HER THERE. This matchup is kinda annoying, but not hopeless. If you can manage get her stuck in your pressure, especially if she's trapped in the corner, things can go in Plats favor. But you gotta catch the cat first, and thats easier said than done. x_X;;
  7. Ahhh, yeah thats the one I was trying. No wonder. xD; I thought my execution was terrible or something~ Thanks very much. And I hope you get your ps3 fixed soon. D:
  8. Okay. I'm now actually having trouble on the air-to-air j.C combo on Makoto. After the habacan stuffs I dash in and do the delayed 5B > 6A but no matter how fast or how slow I try I can't get the j.2C to connect before she techs. She's so weird to combo on. o.O;
  9. Probably will be fighting this matchup sometime in the near future. I've never fought Tao before. (With anyone...) so any matchup advice would be much appreciated!
  10. I'll probably be fighting her soon, and I've never played against a good Tao before. Tips to know beforehand appreciated!
  11. That would be my favorite option yes. :3
  12. Damn, time to main Noel just to see the henshin scene whenever she fights Litchi. :D And I hope they don't just bring back Nu with just the D swords. Cause Mu and Nu are nothing alike save for the fact that they're zoners. I hope they'll find a way to replace Mu's playstyle in the next game. I really like the idea of Saya becoming playable, if they decide to go that route. Or make ξ-14 the new Mu, whatever works.
  13. 6C > 22C is a little tricky, but yeah. There is no real way to explain the timing. I either count like half a second before doing it or for visual reference I wait till platinum is almost done with her little "flip" after the 6C. I wouldn't rely on these though, the best thing to do is to find the right timing and commit it to muscle memory. Oh, another thing that can mess it up is if you do your bubble too fast, you have to delay the bubble some after 2C. otherwise they won't be low enough to even connect 22C properly..
  14. 2369C is TK Swallow Moon. TK is short for tiger knee. It's basically inputting the command for an air move, then an upward directional just before hitting the corresponding button (in this case, C). It results in a very low jump that gets immediately canceled by the move, as the inputs before the jump are still valid. It allows for air-only moves to be done very close to the ground, or for ground-air moves, (like Rags TK Gauntlet Hades, for example, or Mu's Habaya) to have properties that their grounded counterparts don't normally have. TKing is much faster than jumping then inputting a move, because you're doing it all at once instead of trying to jump then input the command as fast as you can afterwards.
  15. I've been fighting Tsubaki vs. Plat very frequently as of late. I'm not that great of a player, so anyone can feel free to correct me on things. It seems at max range Plat's 5B will beat out hers clean. However you don't want to challenge her within range of her 5B because I'm pretty damn sure hers is faster, so you'll get CH'd out of yours instead even if you both 5B at the same time. After that she can get some nasty damage in. So staying away from her is definitely your best bet. Only downside to this is that from this distance you won't always be quite close enough to gatling your 5B into 5C > mami, so you won't be able to shove her away unless you have meter to RC Fallen Melody after a 3C. I only try to close in on her if I have something to cover me with. Missiles are good for trying to close distance since they start off slow and you can run in with them. If you don't have any projectiles handy, B bubble sometimes also works for me to help keep safe and I wanna close in for pressure, trying to hold onto my momentum. But it's really no where near as good as missiles are for this purpose. Don't rush in too close if you use the bubble though...her 5B has more range than it looks like. Her 5B hurts. Bombs keep her from jumping in on you (keeps just about anyone from doing so really) and cat hammer is really good for shutting down her charging. I find that if you find yourself close enough to her after she uses a bnb into a knockback so she can charge, if you're fast you can sometimes tech roll towards her, and if she doesn't expect it you can 5B CH her out of it if she gets too greedy and charges for too long. If you're not close enough you can cat hammer her to stop the charge. This is something you really shouldn't use unless she's definitely not expecting it though, as I'm sure it's really punishable, but mixing up things once in awhile isn't always a bad idea. I also don't really suggest using the hammer in this matchup outside of combos at all really. Even though the 16t hammer quake goes full screen, it's not worth it for the damage or heat you need to get it unless you're just trying to run the clock, or keep her off the ground. Just my observations on this matchup so far. Though again, I'm still a newb with Plat so anyone with more exp. feel free to correct whatever.
  16. Man Makoto is all kinds of annoying isn't she? I think I found my new training dummy.
  17. What can Lam get off 4D without meter? Anyways Habaya killing D Swords = awesome.
  18. Dunno if this one has already been found. Was messing with a midscreen (Well, almost midscreen) 6C fatal combo. (Note: I use ":" to indicate slight delays between moves.) Uses hammer loop so have to have at least 2 uses of it left. FC 6C > j.236C > j.C > (Dash) 6A > 236B > (Dash) 5C > 2C > : 214C > back up > 6C > : 22C > 5C > [Hammer Loop] > (5C > : Cure Dot Typhoon) Does about 6.5k with super ender. (Around 5.1 - 5.2k without super.) Earns 59 heat then uses 50 if you decide to end with super. It carries to the corner. I know it works from a bit closer than midscreen, like a character length or so closer to the corner. I don't think it works from any further, cause you won't have enough time to do dash > 5C I think. I have awful execution though, so anyone wanting to test this further be my guest.
  19. Yeah, his 6B is pretty annoying, although actually I've found you can anti-air him out of it with 6A if you time it right. I've done it quite a few times (albeit on accident) but I'm pretty sure it's possible, but I dunno if it's really optimal. xD I usually, like you said, just DP and try to get him off me.
  20. Some general tips for this matchup would be awesome, seeing as Jin is a matchup I fight more than others. I'm having a little trouble closing in on him. It's probably just me, but sometimes it feels like all of his stuff is faster and better ranged. I'm probably just too slow though so. <<;;
  21. I am SO happy to finally have this adorable loli unlocked on my character select screen~! I knew I wanted to play her but didn't expect to have so much trouble deciding who to main. I've been playing Mu for quite awhile but man Plat makes me wanna switch. They're both my mains now. Her bubble combos are insanely fun, and her air dash is the cutestfuckingthing ever. Also dat 6B. :D
  22. That charged laser combo is sexy as hell Cor...but also hard as hell. I'm still technically a new player so my execution is kinda ass, so I'm not quite there yet. Managed to do a simpler version for 7.8k but still can't get past that. CS1 FC 6C 7.2k seems like a cakewalk now. xD
  23. Seems like the PSN store coming back online tomorrow (Err, today...) was just a rumor. http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/05/24/playstation-network-maintenance-later-today/ So it's now expected back by the end of May. No real info other than that.
  24. Thanks very much for the help you guys. :] I'm doing better in this matchup now. It's still definitely an uphill battle, but I'm staring to like the challenge.
  25. Yesyes! C'mon people, keep faith in our robot. I agree with what Cor said before she really has the potential to come out pretty strong in the end. She's just got SO many good tools now that are now actual threats, and not just a ploy to try and get the opp to fall for gimicky tricks. They have to respect us now. Now, instead of running around in a panic hoping they fall for it, chipping away at their health with flashy setups, watching a HUGE chunk of your health vanish if you mess up just ONCE, we have real tools now and our effort is actually more worth it imo.
