Singles Tournament fee will be a total of $10 per person. $5 venue and $5 prize pool. Singles tournaments will be a double-elimination bracket with seeding being given to all players with points (including i points) for the season. Tournament payout structure is 60/30/10. Doubles Tournament fee will be a total of $10 per person. $5 venue and $5 prize pool. I believe there will be some leftover money from the venue fees. This money can be either A) distributed equally back to everyone who entered the tournament or B) saved and used for future use in a tournament for possibly a cheaper venue fee or bigger prize pool. It's really up to the community as I am open to whatever. Teams will be assigned at random. The idea behind this tournament is to have fun and help the community grow. This allows newer players to experience higher level play and meet other members of the community in a competitive, but friendly environment. Format will be Waseda style. This means that both teams will (blindly) pick a "Player A" and a "Player B." A plays against A, B plays against B, and if the match still isn't decided, then the winners from each team will play against each other. Doubles tournaments will be run as a round robin if there are 6 teams or less, otherwise they will be run as a double-elimination bracket. There will be no seeding for doubles tournaments. Tournament payout structure is 80/20. Exception: Second place team is guaranteed $5 per player.

ME TOO O___o;;; I really miss that. I can confirm 22A CH > 5A > 5C > 2C > air combo but it's not as satisfying as landing that IAD into the corner like in CS2 :3 -
[CSE] Tsubaki Yayoi Unblockable Setups Compilation (Updated 3/7/12)
LunarSelenia replied to Kiba's topic in Archive
Was against our Hakumen player in the Singles tournament this past Sat. Didn't get far (also was my first match and I JUST woke up from a nap and had to play lol ) But I managed to land that air combo > orb > land 22D setup. Felt so good~ that one is esp. fun~ but considering it's Hakumen, do you think they can wake up and slash the orb for projectile barrier? or would it not be enough time for them to do that? *can't go in lab atm* -
[CSE-CP] Tsubaki Yayoi Simple Questions and Answers thread! Version 3!
LunarSelenia replied to Ginseng's topic in Archive
New players will always appreciate it. In all honestly I learned my Tsubaki through the usual, experience...but I got started getting interested with Batou's Tsu Exhibitions in CS2 and because of the organized FAQ here :3 It really helps, especially during those times where you know NOTHING about your character~ EDIT: I've been sifting through posts/thread here I can NOT find that post X___X;; it was rather small, I'll try find it. DOUBLE EDIT: I found it, it was in the old Combo Discussion page for CS2. Basically what Batou said is you also have to be aware of your height positioning for what you prop them up with 6CC etc. -

the 623C > j.236A(w) > j.214D existed in CS2, I know Batou had a good post earlier in the Simple Question (or was it the General Discussion, I forget) but that advice actually helped me learn that timing. I can do it whenever now without hesistation (except from 2P side cuz my TV has lag >>;; ) it sounds redundant but it's really all about delays and spacing out that j.236A so it doesn't hit. Too fast and it will hit, too slow and the j.214D will whiff. Just don't mash it out :3 -

Ah thanks Kiba for some optimal combos stuff. Netplay in general just puts me on edge even with the basic of combos @__@;; I'll be sure to learn these and apply them to my offline game. Question though: What do when magnetized? I know the general idea is to stay away and play patient but a lot of the times I will end up getting caught and it's even harder to play the "Get Away from Me" game. The Mobility issue addressed above might help but as soon as I'm magnetized I'm usually scared of what to do and then it's just GGs. That short blockstring thing I have to get used to with Tager, but thanks for some examples and some things to tryout next time. -

Hahaha time for some fail: [2/9] Tokyoboi808 [TG] vs. LunarSelenia [TS] Honestly I HATE netplay and I don't like being on there but I wanted some matches in despite the lag. I'll take any critique though, I'm just glad I have one vid instead of nothing. It's not my best, but I'd rather put up a vid and get something going from there than like I said, having nothing here. I am aware of: -too much 236x (but most of it was my mindset being LOL Netplay or misinputs, esp. if there are any A vers. in the video) -I can't do 623C > j.236A(w) > j.214D anymore when I'm on the left side. I don't want to do it too much w/ the setup I got since I think I have lag on it. So that's why I end up with....nothing in the corner sometimes >>;; I would at least try XD -
Aaah okay, thanks Kiba, I was wondering about that considering I was reading in the Tager matchups that 236C/D have changed a lot, I was wondering how it affected this matchup as well. My guess is this matchup is a lot patient than it was before (Then again I think a lot of Tsubaki's matchups these days changed to the point where you have to be somewhat more patient than before...) about where steins go and when to approach, I guess I'll use my best judgement from there. I've been playing like super aggressive against EVERYONE lately (minus Tager, although every now and then I get overconfident and end up going aggro against him too >>;; ) EDIT: @Stark: Fullscreen is an idiotic move, I learned that the hard way in CS2 when I was first picking up Tsubaki and mashed out 236C like a retard from fullscreen....I've learned better. Though I think now I will only do it with stock + the right situation, I realized there's no huge problems acquiring stock than I anticipated when the game first released and I was having problems. I'm slowly starting to get back into the groove of things with Tsubaki XD
-
I don't know how changes affected this matchup, but I do have a question regarding 236C. Usually before on blocked Sword of Decimation in blockstrings that led into a backdash or a placed stein could be followed up with 236C so you're back in Mu's face. I know 236C/D is now unsafe so is this not a viable option anymore and can we get easily punished from it. (Of course I'm not going to do it from fullscreen or anything ._.;;; ) I personally would test it out but I've been playing matches against others + learning pressure + learning setups ._.;;

*blink blink* ...I just realized too late...but you actually have our derp from our Danisen event O.o;; (and my horrible commentary + voice >>;; ) AkiraS not knowing what he's doing with Tsubaki at all X__X;;; and their stupid random money matches Lol >>;; *sifting through match vids to watch* If we record/stream this saturday I'll be sure to play Tsubaki and not Relius this time around X___X;;;; something hopefully more legit than...that. -

@Goro/Akira/R-1 vs. Kuresu (I know it was posted awhile ago) Our local Tager player showed me the Kuresu vs. Akira vid....hoooolly crap. Landing dem Tager spec. combos. That and the callout on Tager buster/MTW = mindblown. :3 -

Wow, okay thanks a lot Batou. Much to consider~ and much to learn. If we stream on Sat, I will def. play Tsubaki (too bad I have to work and can only play later....which means later in the night for everyone else XD) ONE more question before I hit up training mode:... can you run by the 214D Burst Bait again? XDDD I remember you saying it when JP Extend first came out, but I forgot it :3 -
[CSE-CP] Tsubaki Yayoi Simple Questions and Answers thread! Version 3!
LunarSelenia replied to Ginseng's topic in Archive
Mmm I read that 236C is worse now, but thanks for the info. I forgot about the falling j.D > j.C combos, I'll probably hit training mode and learn those. Also I got another question: Granted now we not only have to manage our charge but our meter as well, and I know her meter gain is not retarded like Ragna/Tager, but any tips on how to manage that along with charge? I know they say use meter as the situation calls for it, but I guess since we have to consider CAs/RC/Mugen is there any tips on managing that? I feel right now that I have a bad balance of charging/meter usage with her CSX changes. I tend to not have charge at times and forget to charge because I feel it's unsafe (or it's probably because I've been playing Relius for too long), or if I CA too much I realize I'm down to my last primer already w/out a burst, or realize I don't have enough meter to RC out of a move...I guess I'm not looking so much for "go-to" stuffs...but just general tips on how meter should be managed now that I have to implement Mugen more heavily in the lineup (considering I used a super if it was worth it, and almost close to NEVER used Mugen in CS2), as well as everything else considering she's more "unsafe" as far as her moves go, which I feel put priority on using and managing CA/RC/Burst (and with Tsu, CC) more so than the rest of the cast. Edit: Combo related question: just the j.623C > j.236A(w) > j.214D still provide good corner damage in general? My guess is that the falling j.D > j.C combos vs. the j.236A(w) combos are situational depending on what you use in the corner? -
[CSE-CP] Tsubaki Yayoi Simple Questions and Answers thread! Version 3!
LunarSelenia replied to Ginseng's topic in Archive
So I guess now that the game has been out for awhile in Japan, and just got released in NA, figures I can ask this question now since I started prioritizing her again. How much of my general mindset needs to change as far as neutral game goes? I know Batou was explaining a bit about it on the stream chat on Saturday, but I just wanted to get a clearer idea of how much CS2 neutral game changed from CSX. I know in CS2 I mainly prioritized and relied on charging after a KD, one charge into corner carry combos, keeping people in the corner with stuff like 22D unblockables/(air)throws/3C/2C stuff. I also know pressure has changed, charge cancels are more effective now, and prioritized (something I need to work on myself). I'm basically asking what's the difference between neutral game CS2 Tsubaki vs. CSX Tsubaki. I know her changes, I've seen her changed, but I guess I don't know how much they apply now, especially now that everyone has some time to figure things out about her. -
Hahahahaha I should frequent Dustloop again >>;;; Have been ignoring it for quite some time...
