  1. posting in a reboot thread sent a PM a while back about my stuff so I figure that should be good keep on rockin', Cor
  2. Long story short, modifying/upscaling/doing whatever to Arc System Works' intellectual property(i.e. their sprites) is mildly covered under fair use until you start to publicly distribute and/or sell it. You can claim that the modification of the sprites legally belongs to you, but never the source material; and that's where things get very ugly past posting some individual pictures/animations/etc. If you try to seriously, publicly release a game using the intellectual property of another company--even if you credit them--even if you don't plan to sell the game--expect some cease & desist letters followed by a lawsuit you are guaranteed to lose if you don't back down. Circ's not pulling any punches but he's 100% right here, US IP law is pretty clear-cut when it comes to cases like this. There are even set minimum amounts an art asset needs to be modified before you can legally call it your property, and companies who function solely on abusing that line.
  3. http://kofaniv.snkplaymore.co.jp/english/info/15th_anniv/2d_dot/creation/index.php Nope. Reference design is created for a character(2D) -> 3D model is created -> animations are made in 3D model -> best are cherrypicked -> 3D animations are used as a reference to make 2D concept/keyframes -> 2D set is hand-drawn.
  4. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kelvin-quezada - stream currently up, players are decent
  5. Weight, tactile response(resistance and/or sensitivity), and durability. Sticks made without brand parts (Sanwa/Seimitsu) tend to be lacking in the latter two categories where it counts. Thankfully those aren't terribly hard to swap out, although for some Hori sticks you have to do some soldering first. Everyone's mileage may vary when it comes to how their stick 'feels' though, especially if they grew up(so to speak) on a given setup. And some people like specific weights because of how they use their stick, like lime93 said. The best way to figure out what works for you is just to test as many options out as possible.
  6. Kinda hard to disagree with hundreds of pages of supporting evidence.
  7. But you see, that's fine because now we'll have a matchup chart that will actually be relevant to everyone except the top players, who don't need a matchup chart to begin with!
  8. We could have a 'mea culpa' matchup chart, where we have everyone start at the theoretical top Japan is closer towards and then go "but nobody in America can do this consistently so..." and start cutting the numbers down-- ... yeah I don't even know
  9. Don't ever use 3C against Ragna 5D. The only time it'll even connect is if the Ragna starts it up right as your 3C is going active, which means he has to pretty much give it to you. Just about every other time 5D will beat 3C clean. 3C goes under Ragna 5B, but if you're too close or do it too late he can just follow it up before 3C goes active for a free combo. It flat out beats Hell's Fang. I wouldn't try actively using it on anything else. Parry doesn't work against lows.
  10. http://shoryuken.com/f226/infamouskids-joystick-parts-spot-added-new-buttons-256392/ Price of a set is like buying a whole separate stick, but they're there and apparently in high demand.
  11. http://marketplace.xbox.com/ja-JP/Product/BLAZBLUE-CS/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802415707da?cid=search It isn't up on the Japanese side of the site either, so irrelevant for now.
  12. Hey, you think these buttons would go well with that first Makoto design, or are they too bright? (assumed TE/Viewlix) red (x6), orange (x2) I got some blue transparent Seimitsus with opaque black bezel for the Black Rock Shooter design(transparent in case I want to use the art cut-ins), black transparent for LT/RT, they'll come in about two weeks. :toot:

  13. Hopefully this is redundant on my part thanks to the PM, but sure that's OK. (Still can't believe I missed that the way I did. :8/: )

  14. I mean her opponents aren't going to take to the air as often, in a general sense.
  15. No comment. I'm guessing the 2B->5B gatling and Lunatic Rush having more untech time might have shifted her presence. 214A~B might also have a factor. All in all Makoto's ground game appears to be a lot stronger in a game where taking to the air isn't quite as great as it used to be.
  16. Om nom. I hope the Litchi loop dies, if only because watching her play might possibly be interesting without it.
  17. Pretty much this, the problem with match length in BB is mostly combo length with Litchi being the worst offender. Matches actually look and feel fast-paced outside of that(hitconfirm into "god I wish I could put my controller down but I gotta watch for dem purples/resets") most of the time.
  18. Pretty much this, I was set on modding a SE's buttons for my second stick until I did it for a friend and immediately missed the weight/form-factor of the TE. then I got a perfect-condition TE off ebay for $66
  19. F,D,F(faster, or before you let up on D) usually works for DPs on keyboard. In the end it's 4 microswitches just like an arcade stick is; just have to get used to manipulating it without a diagonal shortcut.
  20. Hopefully these changes will make the average BBCS match more hype to watch too. Not saying BBCS doesn't have epic matches but y'all know what I mean. :8/:
  21. Why? It's not a joke that gets any less funny when you repeat it. :8/:
  22. Standard Edition mod I did for a friend using sesame's artwork of Ookami in her thread. Apologies for the blurry cam shots; I just snapped a few quick pictures with my phone before I sent it to him. I should have a clearer shot or two from him in a bit. http://strikers2001.homestead.com/files/2010-10-16_19.23.35.jpg http://strikers2001.homestead.com/files/2010-10-16_19.23.21.jpg http://strikers2001.homestead.com/files/2010-10-16_19.22.59.jpg Did not know lamilabel adhesive stayed on hard the way it does, which led to the screw holes because peeling it back was impossible outside of replacing the whole thing. Will try to keep that in mind next time... EDIT: Two clearer pictures. Size/resolution are kinda big, so I put a smaller version at the top. http://strikers2001.homestead.com/files/IMG_20101021_201246.jpg http://strikers2001.homestead.com/files/IMG_20101021_201303.jpg
  23. I dunno. That still sounds like you could interpret him being in the afterlife. Bang talks about his dead master in the present tense without saying he's dead all the time.
