  1. Don't forget about RCing the j.2d, you get a full combo and it deals a lot of damage. For instance j.2d rc 5B 5C(2) itsuuC chun/tk chun/j chun 2C JBC D airdash JC staff2 6C tsubame 6C 3c [4058]
  2. I think I've read most threads and haven't seen this, so if it's posted somewhere else sorry. I was in training and randomly decided to experiment with j.2d to see if I could do anything after the crossup back kick. What I did find is that if you hit with the main part (staff coming down) and RC it, you will keep your staff and the opponent will be in a lot of hit stun. So much that you can 5b 5C etc into combo. It looks like you can cross up with it too which could be useful. [edit] did some messing around, if you hit with j.b and you are at the right angle you can cancel it into j.2d rc into combo. If you do a dashing j.b and hit their upper body, j.2d seems to always connect.
  3. Yeah I'm starting to lose hope, even when done to pass through a projectile or when someone whiffs when you trying to knock you off the staff it STILL is easily blocked. It's so slow I don't really see this ever working... but I will randomly try new stuff as it comes to mind. Here's hoping someone finds a way to somehow combo into it or at least punish something.
  4. Anyone have any good setups to use this? Litchi section is kind of dead so at least it's somethign to discuss. Sometimes when I get bored in casuals will try to go for her astral finish. So far I've found that even if you start the AH as a counter to Jin's super fireball you will go through it fine but he has plenty of time to block since the startup is so slow. Would be nice if this could be used in a serious match and be useful.
  5. Wait Veteru, were you in socal this weekend? I was at the Cali regionals and entered the SC4 tournament. I was the norcal guy who came to play Blazblue at alts house who ran the brackets / played ABA in guilty gear / dressed business like. I probably didn't see you at the arcade since most of my time was spent outside chilling with people while I waited for my matches to come up. Did chat with Mike Z abit though. Also Emphy was the Litchi player at Denjin? No wonder I was losing to him, I played Litchi as well but I haven't put much time into the game so he was doing combos I didn't know of. Didn't enter the tournament though, but good games Emphy. Seeing the combos in action gave me a better idea as to how they work, looking forward to really delving into this game when it hits console. Sorry to derail the thread, I'll go back to browsing for combos I should practice the next time I happen to be near a machine.

  7. I never use 2k against slide head point blank, because at that point you can just block the slidehead with no ill effect. Use it when you are across the screen and need to get into moroho, or if you just want to condition them into not using it so much (If you show someone that a move they do is ineffective, I notice that they tend to stop using it)
  8. Like I said earlier learn to use 2k against slide head, it saves a lot of headache when you don't have to worry about him getting a free knockdown at range.

  12. If you use 2k at any range you will not be knocked down. For whatever reason aba is considered off the ground or immune to the move during the animation for 2k. So if Potemkin is trying to keep you from turning moroho by using slide head do a 2k then use a blood pack. I've never been punished for doing this yet, however this is just match experience. I think each time I use it Pot players just get confused and freeze up for a moment wondering wtf just happened. I'll go into training mode and see if another slide head will beat it out. One more thing about slide head, if you time your blood pack right you will not be knocked down due to invulnerability. It's hard to pull off the few times I've tried in matches but I've gotten it to work.
  13. Vs Pot, 2k beats slide head. Started using it awhile ago, I've found some pretty fun uses for it.
  14. It's just a long range poke that has kinda decent priority I guess. ABA can destroy HOS at poking, however he is a good character now so he won't be easy to bowl over. One thing to add with Potemkin, it is just one gigantic counter match. It feels like everything ABA has Pot can counter and vice versa. It feels like a bigger mindgame match than any other character I've dealt with so far.
  15. Best bet to FRC konsetsu is to wait to the point where you think the move is over, then when your brain tells you "hey you messed up it's too late!" try hitting the frc. Really you have to wait longer than you would think since I think most of us are use to hitting an rc after the move itself hits (or really really close to it).
