I just noticed you have a sig full of easy reversals. That would be why I guess. but if you don't want to stop blocking to input a reversal play hakumen I guess. half circles are easy to do on wakeup though. just harder during pressure. though I would say still easier than 2xqcf

6 combos to win is worse performance than I would expect from TD.
-
If you respect bananaken, lordknight, and SKD, you should remember that those players are a product of "American BBCP"... But then I guess you could argue they aren't good. Maybe even bad! LOL FREE TO SOUJI. w/e. I'm done.
-
of course. But if there's one person you can't argue is worse it'd be N-O if you ask me. they played in the big online godsgarden a month or so back. It was worse. I can't remember how many matches they played though. I want to see he didn't take a match, and that he got eliminated out of winner's by him and in grand finals? 5-0 or 4-1 or something. Not many rounds taken either IIRC. Doubt I can still watch the thing on nico this late... ed: looks I can still watch it till 1/22. results 5-0. N-O won 3 rounds.
-
Well I meant Rachel's worst matchup is kokonoe. Neutral is too bad. N-O is really out there. To lose that badly is really something. He doesn't seem to lose even the known bad matchups for Rachel, like Tao. I would be interested to see Tsuji tao vs N-O. But with anyone else I might buy it, but N-O is not lacking in player skill.. by any means... lol. And he'd rather switch to kokonoe than play Rachel vs Kokonoe. W/e.
-
I meant it's doubtful it's 6-4 Kokonoe, but rather 6.5 or 7. It's definitely her worst matchup.
-
Just to check, have you seen the N-O vs tsujikawa matches. Seems doubtful that's as good as 6-4 for Rachel.
-
that's scary. What can you get off 2a with OD/meter? 7k? Hell what about midscreen if you have OD/meter available?
-
I'm saying we don't play a different game from them. I'm saying we have some very good players over here, that are recognized as very good players over there. I'm saying lots of people have an unrealistic view of what it's like over there vs over here. You're saying that there are more/better top level players in Japan because there are a lot more people, they get the game earlier, and they still have arcades. Congratulations. Everyone knows that. It's still fundamentally the same game and it's pretty much played the same way, and if you get good over here you will be good over there.
-
oddly noone seems to be willing to accept that one right there. it's like people aren't allowed to put a number above 6:4 on any matchup. strongest reason I can see to not ban is that right there. Chars like Valk have been shitting on most of the cast for a long long time already. Why just koko. Besides pay to win riling people up
-
I'm one of those people who has played in Japan, and knows there are a LOT of not so great players over there. Duh, better conditions, including having a lot more people playing the game, will produce the best players. But we have very good players over here too. Or did you not see P4U at Evo. Yeah, there's a difference. but I disagree with the way it is presented.

Anyway, all I want to say is, if you have a 3-7 matchup in the finals, you are fucked. god forbid you are coming from losers. You have to quite thoroughly outplay your opponent to win in that situation. Which is, I think, pretty common anyway. I think, for example, there was a general consensus that although Arakune was S tier in CT, he wasn't tournament viable. Because the odds of him running into Nu or Rachel in a tournament were too high and he had awful matchups against them. But a char like Jin or Carl could've been tournament viable because even though they might not be S they had more even matchups against the two most common gods. If there are enough kokonoes, then any char with a 3-7 matchup would probably become not tournament viable.
-
No, it would be tighter but not gapless. Barrier only adds 1 frame of blockstun... and barrier doesn't make it so you can't use 2d wind. it would make it so you can't use 2d wind after several attacks, but that's not something you should be doing anyway.

actually, technically, I didn't get 'based on rounds' from jbbs. instead I got people posting that a 7-3 matchup is 78% chance, etc. which I assumed came from chance of winning a MATCH as opposed to a round. I mean, I agree it is kind of stupid. For the reasons which were mentioned. But that seemed to be what people were going with over there.
-
I got it the only place that I know of people ever talking about matchups anymore, the jbbs matchup threads. which are still all a load of shit. But then again in japan matches are, outside of tournaments, typically best of 5 too. I don't remember the exact numbers but they were posted somewhere. IDGAF. The point is that the numbers people associate with matchups have a harder reality behind them.
-
the current standard is per-round for matchups. Yes oddly enough. but the math bears out that a 7-3 matchup means a match win rate of greater than 70%. ..
-
it's very very simple. We haven't had a 'community' 'respected' matchup chart... ever. For none of the games. People don't like writing matchup charts. We don't have a thread for tier lists or matchup charts because it is generally frowned upon. and unfruitful anyway. people can never agree on matchups, and there's always the other big thing, which is level of skill.
-
The standards are roughly per round. And, we don't *ever* get "official" matchup charts. Never ever ever do we get such a thing. It doesn't exist. And the only time to discuss a ban is now. Why, because this is an actively developed game. There will be a new release before that side would be satisfied. Lots of people like to say it's too early for FUCKING TIERS a YEAR after arcade release. Matchup charts? Hell no...
-
Are you for real bro? 7-3 Means around an 80% win rate in matches. Which bumps up to ~90% in a Best of 3. The power of science
-
Kokonoe doesn't have a 'hard counter' character. Of course the same is true of Valk, Tao, Litchi, and Hazama I guess.
-
So you've played BB in Japan? Add 'people who think "american bbcp" is a thing' to the list of pet peeves.
