  1. Stylishness does not make dumb things okay. :P That's the D version of her basic projectile. (Which can only be used in Gain Art mode, I believe?)
  2. You mean it's not frame 1 invulnerable or something?
  3. I'm okay with this. Izayoi looks awesome, but I will be super sad if everyone ditches Tsubaki.
  4. Heh. Found another reason why people are doing 5C > 6CC punishes instead of raw 6C punishes. If you're blocking, and try to go straight into 6C, your odds are very good that you'll get a [4]6C instead, which sucks. I knew I hated charge moves.
  5. So I think we can probably remove: From the first page...
  6. I'm not an expert, but you can probably replace the spring for increased tension. This may or may not actually be a good idea, however. Unless you're actually having trouble "finding neutral" it's probably smarter to just get accustomed to it, rather than install something to give it more "Fight". Edit: On the other hand, the things cost like 90 cents, so, whatever, go to town. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.gif' alt=':)'> The process is apparently super easy.
  7. ... like it's easy to tell that she IS teleporting? :P
  8. It's not BB without retarded hitboxes. ;P I guess I can continue to play color #3 in keeping with my blue theme, though I have my doubts about the lime green hair...
  9. I'm going to give Arksys the benefit of the doubt on this one and say that someone probably just got hit out of it by something that seemed weird and now people are jumping to conclusions. It'd be beyond stupid to relegate BOTH 214D AND 22D to combo filler moves again.
  10. Dark Souls was. And yeah, I believe FF13 was originally, but later got a 360 release there. x.x It's not unheard of, certainly, though it seems like a pretty dubious move (Dark Souls II has apparently decided it was a bad idea and is doing a 360 release in Japan) considering that you still have to do pretty much ALL the work and spend ALL the money, except, I guess, saving the cost of printing Xbox specific manuals in Japanese. :P
  11. Grope-o'-matic 2000?
  12. Thankya! Holy crap, Nu is complicated now. x.x
  13. Mori said it, you be the judge. :P
  14. Yeah, because clearly having to hit your opponent THREE whole times to win was too many. -_- I don't think anyone has ever complained about damage in BB being too low. Maybe about combos taking too long to do it, but not about the actual damage inflicted.
  15. Actually, Lambda 5D is projectile leve 1 in EX; It's ATTACK LEVEL 3 (for purposes of blockstun and stuff) but projectile level 1 (Insert obligatory comic re: confusing uses of the word 'level' here). Though I couldn't even find a listing to say what projectile level Tsubaki's j.236D is in EX, so information is definitely sketchy.
  16. I concur; Total gimmick. If you land it, good on you, but seriously.
  17. While I've never ordered directly from them, Hori is the actual manufacturer of these things, not some fly-by-night redistributor. They might not have the best speed/turnaround because direct sales probably isn't their primary line of business, but you'll get your hardware.
  18. It looks like they've changed how the cooldown for Gravity Seed works - in CS you got a shorter cooldown if you hit with it, which made it more useful as a combo tool - here it looks like you get a shorter cooldown (You'll notice that the gauge is never empty after he uses it) if you don't "hit" with the actual damage part, making it more of a zoning tool? Or maybe it's mode dependant. Dunno.
  19. Hours. Heck, it still takes me hours to learn new combos, though I'm probably not the best example. :P I actually suggest taking breaks during your training. Don't grind on it for three hours straight. Throw yourself at it for maybe 30 minutes, then do something else. Heck, play some matches. Then take an actual break from the game for an hour or something. Take a walk, do some pushups, read a book. Then come back and practice again and you'll probably notice that things are improving.
  20. I consider that to be way too much for a character who's been out for like 2 days. Most characters took at least a week to get out of "WTF, why does my old stuff no longer work?" mode. Meh. Irrelevant. They'll nerf her for the console release.
  21. I believe it's "reading" in Japanese - as in "reading your opponent" as in "being able to tell what he's going to do before he does it"; aka "being psychic" or just "calling him out". It's a term you'll see thrown around a good bit, and it boils down to being able to get into your opponent's head so you can tell what they'll do and counter it.
  22. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZfh9egwz4I#t=10m23 It's well after the super flash and background change - the crest has even had time to fade out - but Tsubaki is still in Sword Summoning Pose when she gets hit. What confuses ME is the number of times I've seen people get hit by it for NO good reason. Like "Haha, I shall super jump barrier to avoid your mixup...and then get hit anyway."
  23. Well, like I've sortof been saying/musing, it seems like it would be pretty good in the corner if you can confirm into j.214D from whatever. That's big damage, or used to be. You know what I don't see many Tsubaki players doing, and what I often fail to remember to do myself? j.C > 2B. People are used to blocking low, but we never encourage it. j.CC is a lot better if they're concerned you're going to land and low them. Edit: Also, regarding Blade Super, it seems like it really does have FULL invulnerability once the swords become active (You can tell because Tsubaki leaves her "point the sword at you to summon swords" pose and does what kinda looks like a little backdash.); She DEFINITELY has invulnerability during that: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tzc9TL9UJFM#t=3m30s
  24. Yeah, this is basically what I was trying to say, though apparently not very clearly. Except Swallow Moon doesn't give you 9 frames of landing recovery. =/ It really looks like this will only really be valid with charge for j.214D (Does it still do a hilarious slide if they're not in the corner, or can we pick up chargeless midscreen?)
  25. I haven't heard anything about 6C being charge cancellable - odds are if it were, we'd have seen it by now, but who knows, maybe no one thought to try. (Unlikely) And it's not that j.C and j.CC have recovery after j.D - it's that they don't CANCEL the recovery from j.D - j.D has 9 frames of landing recovery, and you get those whether you do j.C or not. That said, I don't think they are ADDITIVE, so if you do a move that has landing recovery after j.D you only get the landing recovery from the subsequent move. (Which means that if you're good at hitconfirming j.C into j.214D...)
