Sadly hard drives are a POS. Also they are the only mechanical part of a computer. Better get your self a nice SSD (32 -64 gig )for your os and a few other things then get a nice 500 + gig hdd run as a slave for storage ^^ Where i used to work we would get data off of busted hard drives through the above method, just depends on the level of damage. Sometimes it works other times it doesn't *shrugs* Speaking of which I probably need to back up my data but eh, maybe I'll do that this winter break haha. Though I am jealous, I've been wanting to get rid of my e6750 and build up a new rig for awhile, I think I'll be building one this summer. edit response to SOniti Then he should start testing on his machine. Removing ram, dcing HDD. Checking for blown capacitors on the MOBO. Great now I am distracted thinking about this. haha

why are you researching a new computer if you are having an HDD failure. Just get a new HDD? If you need to recover stuff from that hdd just get an external casing and see if you can access it through that. If not just return the casing.

No I didn't commit, I just said we would be wanting to do it around the 4th and that you would contact him for more information. It was a purely planning stuff, nothing has been committed. I tried to emphasize that I was just scouting and gathering information. But you could tell that they wanted to be accommodating and not waste our time or their time. I told them you would contact them asking for information and that all this needed to be run by the community first; this was just a possible venue. If they took it another way I am sorry. I also directed him to the norcal install thread on dustloop so they can check out. They wanted to make the place seem good for us as I am sure it would be good revenue. So I would suggest writing an e-mail or calling (not sure why you haven't unless the pm didn't get to you, this commitment issue should have been taken care of already) ok reading my old posts yeah it came off like I committed. They place a decent size/ lagless tv there for main event. Interenet for streaming. It is a little bigger than droms and has tables in place. May be a bit crowded vut could work I got pictures of the place ill post up later as I am on my phone. Chun I will pm you the owners info so you can discuss more with him if need be. You are a better representative of nci than I am.

I'll be going to shadow brook tomorrow, probably around 7 so I can avoid traffic, check back around 8:30 or so for an update.

Consider it done, I'll probably go down on Wednesday, since that is when my break starts. I'll scope it out and get accurate information on who to contact, name #. See if we can squeeze 50 + people in there for this one or future. Check out the internet so we can some streams going.

Donno, but we can't really set a date if we don't have a venue can we? Do we know if droms can do it? and can droms fit 50 people? It seemed like a comfortable place for the 20-30 we had for a bb tourney but add in set ups tables and 20 more people for MBAA and GG. Is it actually big enough? I loved droms but just doesn't seem big enough for all the games to take place in, but I could be wrong. Not be a nay sayer. I don't like it when people are downers without trying to figure out alternative solution. Just trying to offer some perspective here. I'll check out shadowbrooke sometime this week, even if we don't use it now it can always be a back up location if need be. On that note if Droms can fit everyone I think its a great location. I see, well if you need I can go take visit to shadow brook and come back with a number if need be. I only live about 20-30 minutes away, and I can always make blk mage go with me :3 Also you can count me out for davis too far away for me to do traveling so close to finals and a test.

Like with most things its just breaking a habit. I've had to break all my bad habits SFIV gave me with shortcuts(Ex I would always do 63216 for my half circles) just slow yourself down, practice in training mode. focus on getting whatever you are wanting to get rid of in a match out. And it will slowly disappear. It won't happen over night.
