There was a guilty gear station running all night, so chances are good that it'll be running every time. I didn't get to play it but I also want to start trying it out. -

We had a good turnout tonight. 11 people entered the tournament, and there were lots more people playing casuals. Here's the bracket and placings: http://challonge.com/dlsdp4aa 1. TsukiBaka (BLUE fucking NINJA) [Labrys] 2. shtkn [Mitsuru] 3. Chen (Anal Avenger) [Yosuke] Shoutouts to ANAL AVENGER vs. Dickbutt and whatever else was going on with the names tonight. I should note that tomorrow (today/Saturday) Oceanside Fight Club is going to be having their events at Saltmines, due to problems with their regular venue. So go and check that out if you have the time. Otherwise, I'll see you guys next week where I'll be running another tournament in the same format. -

Yaaaay entries. If there is interest we can bump the stakes up higher but I figure keeping it low will make it more accessible. -

Reminder that tomorrow I'd really like to run a tournament for Persona 4 Arena. Entry will be two (2) american dollars. We need at least 8 people. If we can get a consistent group of this size each week I think it'd be good for the scene, especially if Ryan lets us stream the tournaments. So bring two bucks and tell your friends and all that jazz. -
Kirby's Dream Course tournament next time? I can bring a setup...

I was wondering where you were! That's fine though, you can come even if it's just to hang out and not play fighting games, we're friends, after all~ -

I voted for the anime games and added Guilty Gear to the list. You know, just in case. -

They don't, but I always bring mine and Kevin always brings his so that's 2 with GG already. No worries on that front. -

We go from 7PM to as late as 2AM sometimes (but basically whenever people decide to leave). Generally we play on Ps3s. -

Just your stick and whatever games you want to play. We usually don't need setups or anything but someone will say something if we do. Hope to see you at the next one (This friday)! -

We really only meet up Friday nights but we're in the process of arranging some weekend events in the next couple months. Usually we play Blazblue and Persona 4 Arena but some of us play GGAC and some of us are learning it for the first time due to the recent port. There are a few other games that get played semi-regularly (though not as much: Arcana Heart 3, Chaos Code), and then sometimes I'll bring random weird games. Basically, though, you can show up wanting to play whatever game and you'll be able to find people to play against. -
Good turnout! Shoutouts to getting a full tournament for melty blood especially. If you aren't going to these still: why not? Also more and more Gundam hype, people on stream were really digging it.

San Diego anime players! We discussed last night making a serious push in a couple aspects of the scene. The first one hadn't really been discussed much before: Getting our players to come out consistently. I understand everyone has real lives, get sick or hurt, and have other commitments, so the thing to think about here is: barring those sorts of excuses, what would get you to come out consistently? We discussed doing tournaments, having prizes and other sporadic silly events. We are trying to arrange for an 8 man Persona tournament next Friday. It will only cost $2 to enter. If we can do this more than one or two times, we may able to stream it and draw more attention to the scene. Second, an issue we've always had, is getting new people to show up. This one is tricky. We've gotten new people in the past just by virtue of having this thread and keeping it active, and sometimes it's from people either telling friends about it or bringing them. So I would definitely encourage people to tell all their friends that they know who play our games to come. I, unfortunately, do not know many people that play fighting games at all, so my recruiting scope is mostly online. Sometimes rides are a reason for people to not come, which is understandable, but I know I and a few others would be willing to give rides, as long as they aren't too far out of the way (and even if they were, a little gas money would probably sway them). So if anyone here has any ideas for fun Events, ways for us to get new people, or just general ideas for suggestions, post them up. Think about what you like and don't like about our community. We can work on fixing the dislikes (within reason) and emphasize the likes for newcomers. Some fun, inexpensive, silly events we've had in the past: astral sodas, stylish unlimited tournament, kusoge/Jackie Chan tournaments. -
You should be fine bringing a 360, lots of people have dual-modded sticks. I can bring a PS3 but no monitor. Is that okay or should I not bother?

Yeah, that's cool. I've picked up ds on the way before(assuming he still lives in san marcos), you may just have to remind me of the directions. I'll just ask for 10 bucks from both of you for gas. -

If it ends up being on Sunday that's nice because then it doesn't clash with Super Arcade on saturday. Speaking of which, I'm going again, so if anyone wants to carpool and split the gas cost, let me know. Also Watermelonz you should bring your laptop and Melty if you end up coming! -

I can bring an AH3 PS3 and also I am super down to play more waterpizza. I don't have a good monitor though so I'll have to bum someone else's.

Sorry I had to bail early, and sorry I didn't really meet any of the people I hadn't seen before. Next time!
