I'm pretty sure charge 5b has different properties for air/ground. Air hit charge 5b (ie after OMB) will link into another charge 5b. But ground charge 5b (ie after sword chain lock) will NOT link into another charge 5b. So it goes like: Tsurugi hit in corner -> charge 5b (grounded) -> 22A -> 5AA (or whatever filler) -> charge 5b (grounded) -> 5b -> sweep -> oki Tsurugi hit in corner -> charge 5b (grounded) -> charge 2b -> do something -> OMB -> charge 5b (air) -> charge 5b (grounded) -> 5b -> sweep -> oki Can't remember this off the top of my head but something like: Tsurugi hit in corner -> charge 5b (grounded) -> 5b -> sweep -> gear super -> charge 5b (air) -> charge 5b (grounded) -> 5b -> sweep -> oki ^ That's the general idea but probably won't work if you dont have an SMP starter

It's all about that gundam netplay. Where you swear you pressed block but ate beam instead

Always good to see ya and I'll definitely travel more when I'm all moved out fufu And lastly big shoutouts to Mightfo and every involved for the scene we have. You all always have my appreciation and bad jokes (one of which is probably more valuable than the other hopefully even slightly)

I will casually play some cardfight vanguard :roll::roll::roll::roll:

No, it's completely useless. You don't mash DP out of the BI, you just wait for superflash and do it. It will only beat people who are dumb and trying to hit buttons or as a reset. Which again is the worst reset in the game considering if you are in a combo and your opponent knows that BI is free to DPs, would just mash DP on superflash. I mean... quack

5A/2A > 2B is a frametrap you can use. BOB was using it a lot iirc Also any nonsense into 236A/B can be used as a ghetto frametrap 5AA > 236A 5A > 5B > 236A 5A > 2B > 236A ...
-
This. It looks like you were second guessing yourself a lot with those DP > C mojuu cancels As Tecta said, 5B CH is optimal but you have to wait until they land. 5A is more of a safe option (jump cancel to bait bursts, against aigis run up 5a with let you react to super if they do it earlier since you don't have to commit to it quite as early)
-
"can DP" is not really much of an argument. It's as strong as saying "can bait DPs" because as a Labrys player you WANT them to DP and you want even more to bait said DPs cuz that's easy damage and a braindead punish. But yes, 5AAA is a legit frametrap. It just doesn't give you anything. On topic, you really did get blown up a lot with 5AA dash... might be a good idea to switch up to 5A dash cancel (rising j.A, rising j.C, cross-up j.B, blah blah blah) will watch more later when time allows
-
Looks like I'm beating the dead horse by saying combos. Though I'm sure you know, some sub-"optimal" hints 1. In red axe close to corner, if your 5AA juggling them just end in 5AAA 22X instead of doing autocombo ender for corner oki (labrys's favorite) 2. In red axe fatal j.B if you're too far for a 5AA 5AA 2C B+D setup, you can either dash or go for lv2 land girokasu combos General gameplay notes: My gawd you spend meter like crazy (not just for EX moves either)! Naturally the answer is IB!! In the yukiko vids, you were clearly at meter loss and that player made better decisions (sometimes) and had better combos, it would have been brutal You really love that 5c in these matchups...whatever works for you but like E$ports said, you can get blown up for it off a good read Not really feeling your use of guard cancel in the yukiko matchup, its a necessity in the akihiko one tho, just my personal opinion (I think you should just let yukiko keep chipping you and IBing for meter) If you're Labrys and you are the first to DP, and your opponent reversal DPs, you can spend 50 meter to C mojuu and beat the reversal DP (assuming you have it) That's all I got haha
-
Nothing reallly wrong with mashing A (Labrys has one of the best auto-combos in the game) but if you have 25 meter you should try hitconfirming 5AA into 214AB instead of 236B -> AB followup. I'm pretty sure the latter gives you high yellow from green vs guaranteed red if you just hitconfirm one less A. Well my playstyle doesn't push red axe at all so I save my meter hahaha (if I get it, I use it, otherwise w.e) When I have youtube access... I'll do a real critique lolwork
-
Sadly the standing reset is arguably the most gimmicky worst reset in the game... as if you're opponent has even an inkling of what to do to beat BI in neutral, they can do the same thing in a "reset" combo
-
Easiest BI corner combo is 50 meter from tsurugi hit (red axe, yellow??? and awakening implied of course) tsurugi > charge 5b > 22a > 5a > 2b > BI A > 5a > I have no idea what to do here if they aren't dead haha maybe >AA AoA Why would you hold 3 after a jump in the corner? unless your 2P and your holding down-back that way??
-
Did it in tournament once, never really "accidentally" done it before then. Just wanted to churn butter...

Well according to Webster's: Prorate transitive verb : to divide, distribute, or assess proportionately That's not quite what you're looking for though Proration as people are using it here more means along the lines of damage and hitstun scaling/decay. All moves should incur some form of proration (if not then you could potential use the move infinitely with impunity), but some moves scale worse than others (naturally). Proration also varies from game to game so the word is really used as an umbrella term.

Shoutouts to me being dumb...one of these days cookie, I will MAKE you do REAL wakeup mixup
-
Pretty standard problem with this game. It's like Surfeit says in the last post, she has options to beat most setups. However, wakeup in this game is whack where the pressuring side has to make big guesses/risks and half the time it doesn't work. You get SOME advantage in this game for knocking down, but its nowhere near the extent of other games where they have to guess a 50/50 with universal DPs, rolls, jump outs, backdash, 5A, blah blah blah Just keep practicing and something will click.
-
Well...2A meaty is as unsafe as 5A meaty. It's not like they can punish 2A meaty, you just dont get as many mixup options without the jump cancel. Though you do get 2A > Throw that you wouldn't normally get with 5A. In the case 2A meaty is blocked, you can just block (lose pressure) or take risks and try to make them safe with the set chain (lose damage from no chain hit) As noted in Eshi's first post, DP beats everything (bar roll), so 5A and 2A are equally bad in this case.
