Sorry for the offtopic, but WTF? What.The.Hell? Dunno why the hell are you saying this. I haven't got a majority of my theory from you. Sorry to sound rude, but I don't think I actually got any of my theory from you. A lot of the time I spent arguing over pointless things with you, where your ideas were pretty awkward. Doing Rock It -> Fafnir doesn't mean i'm borrowing your theory. You shouldn't have said this, really.

Confirming CH 2D into GV is kinda pointless and not really doable. It's always better to confirm it into Gunflame, either FRCed or not (if it's not FRCed, you can then connect a CL Fafnir to continue the combo), and sometimes you can combo without tension if you have some dash momentum.
-
What are you saying? 5H can't be punished, especially if you cancel it into GF fake (dunno about 5H without canceling, but you're still safe probably). Plus, you can always jump and be safe if they block it. And j.H tends to clash with VV in certain situations. But it's still better not jumping on him and hoping it'll clash. :P
-
Done from the right distance, it can be pretty effective vs Potemkin.
-
Haha, your post reminds me of this debate (as you were 90% implying) ;P http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2306&page=14

Fafnir and GF can't be compared for the same purpose. GF is mainly a pressure tool, although you can also use it as a frame trap when 6P doesn't work, while Fafnir is mainly for stuffing/frame trapping. And when blocked, you lose momentum.

I find BR FRC in combos pretty useless. If he's too far away for CLSW him in corner, you can easily relaunch him with BR. Launcher -> j.s,j.k,j.d,BR (you don't do j.k sometimes, it's height/char dependant) -> land 5k,j.p,j.k,CLSW and continue into 'standard' loop.
-
You can do pretty good damage after 2D -> GV. You just SJ j.H to CLSW. If you're good, you can do 2 of them plus VV knockdown. But usually one is enough to do around 200 dmg. It's pretty useful when you can't do the 'standard' 5k,2h xx GV.

I know for a few vids. Here they are: http://youtube.com/watch?v=if2DtIsvOz4 -- isa vs ABEGEN http://youtube.com/watch?v=XisBdfH4OyI -- NOB vs ABEGEN http://youtube.com/watch?v=wQaiLynFX38 -- Ogiwara vs Satoshi (I'm not sure here) http://youtube.com/watch?v=eriYxL1g_3A -- Ogiwara vs Haaken

You'll hardly beat potemkin buster with pokes. From frame 3 onwards it's already invincible.
-
Players usually cancel 2D to GF FRC from up close, so most opponents tend to react by jumping, backdashing, etc. That's where GV comes handy. You get it.
-
I was talking about 2D on block, and then GV.
-
I find GV to be VERY useful from 2D. It'll catch them if they try to jump away, backdash, etc. They'll still be in blockstun, so they won't be moving, GV will just hit them. If they IB 2D they can jump away and GV will miss, so be carefull.

Heh, it's about time we write something, yeah. I'd like to thank to everyone who played against me. I had some awesome matches with you, Caer, Lazze, Cuongster, Koji, Oro, Ryukim, Mitsurugi, and so on. I'm upset I didn't get to play more people, but oh well. We had to leave pretty early the next day after the turnament. And my biggest problem was my health, by having almost NO voice at all, some ear pain and so on.. dammit. >_> I felt so out of energy. But the next day after the turnament I felt better and played better too. In the turnament I made some unnecessary input errors and such. Hype was strong, I was pretty nervous too and forgot to do some new things that I was thinking about before. At the and I lost to Lazze. He played very well, safe. I didn't adjust well my playstyle to play against him. And I hate mirror matches too. ;p Great performance by him (and by Nehle and Steph, I barely beat you guys) All in all it was AWESOME and I'm waiting for the next big european event. Hope to see you guys soon (and that I come in a healthy state).

Mashing 2P can only beat if you do you Wild Throw from some range and not from close (from example if you do late j.s,2p and then dash in throw -- they can 2p you here easily, so 6P comes handy more here). There are some unmashable setups from 2p, 5p, late j.p/j.s if done right. But you should be careful to be outside the normal throw range, so they won't grab you (WT obviously has more range than normal throws).
-
Fafnir is only good in certain situations. It's not something you can just do and win. But when used properly, it can be good enough. I already listed some good setups, but I'll do it again: - After GF fake it can surprise people - If they try to attack or jump after a late blocked GF - After f.s,2s (whiff) it can surprise too if they don't attack you immediately, so don't be predictable with this string - After a blocked 2S is sometimes good - You can do some anti-throw setups with it by staying in throw range and empty jumping These are the 'setups' I use it from. If someone knows more good setups should post them.
-
Wow, this will be so epic. Video documentation, interviews, and so on. No human being should miss this event.

A few general tips against Potemkin: - Do more lows in your blockstrings (for example j.S,2k,2d // 2p/5k,2k,2h) to prevent mashing busters, backdashes, jumps and similar stuff while they're expecting Wild Throw - Frame traps with 6P usually don't work against Potemkin, cause they won't rely as much on 5p/2p - Be careful not to GF FRC too close (for example j.S,2p xx GF FRC -- you can eat a buster between) - When you GF FRC after a blockstring, it's good to jump and press j.p so you can beat Potemkin if he does 236P. If he doesn't, just do a late j.S/j.H after j.P recovers. - Train to do 214K vs Slidehead and VV vs 6h on reaction (if you can't already) - BB and Revolver should not be blocked up close, otherwise a Buster is guaranteed Ok, this all for now. Gotta go.
-
There are a few 'ok' setups to use Fafnir. Like a late blocked GF, f.S,2S(whiff) > Fafnir, 5H or 6H into GF fake > Fafnir, etc Nothing is terribly powerfull, but is good to throw once in a while.

Thanks for the answers chun_li1. Cool that things are changing a lot, It will be a lot more interesting next time. Last year we haven't played any casuals. We must play some next time. And hey there Caer. Late night gaming does indeed work well with me (until I get too tired). :P When I played against you, we played like 6h without breaks. That was painful and fun at the same time. I've read you've changed to play on stick and I've also seen some older vids. Nice to know that, I hope you'll learn it fast to play without much mistakes (if you didn't already). Some other vids of that day will come soon (the ones played mostly at the beggining and middle).

Hey ATG! We're doing fine here, but people aren't playing enough AC. Now we only have 3-4 people (me included) who are kinda playing regulary. I hope the situation will get better soon. Nice to hear that ACD plays HOS (but he didn't drop Testament?). He's a pretty fun character imo. Did you play a turnament at that meeting? And if you did, who won? I also hope we'll see you guys soon again, can't wait to play more against you all (Nehle & co, Xeno.. all of you). Take care. :china:

Thanks guys. We'll post even better matches! And yeah, I did autopilot sometimes. It's also easy to autopilot with Sol. But I wasn't really 100% careful/concentrated all the time (and neither was kekken) cause we were playing and recording for 5h+.. and we were testing things at times and such. We weren't really playing for a cup (but I know, I shouldn't use excuses) More matches will come soon. I guess from now on we'll be updating regulary I hope. But it sucks that there isn't a lot of competition here.
