That little stomp move that hits overhead and then low on netplay is...pretty stupid. I'm blocking it a 100% of the time and then getting hit at about 50%.

It seems more imposing than it actually is, all you have to do is hold forward. It's just the visuals + condition + threat of the IK that makes people panic and I end up landing it all the time.

It's all situational of course but there are many cases where the ridiculous active frames and extended hit box really comes in handy. Not to mention the increased damage off it as a starter and free combo every time you land a CH on the air with it. You just have to know when and how to use it and you'll see that it's actually quite useful. I think people just assume it to be the be all, end all air move for Yosuke but that's just not the case since his j.A and j.B are also quite excellent in their own right as well.

The fact that Yosuke just jumps higher than everyone else makes that hitbox and active frames really valuable. It can also clash with many anti airs with ease as well. The only tricky part of using it is that it takes a while to comes out especially compared to all of Yosuke's other lighting fast normals. Just don't get too reckless with it and get your persona broken but then again, unlike some characters, Yosuke can cope just fine with his Persona.

More or less always try to cover your approach against Kanji using j.D or other knocked down setups. Also, Kanji is just awful and has no real option against you at your mid range 5C/2C range so take advantage of that. There's really nothing he can do other than block on his wake up if you space right and meaty C hits. And if he eats your C attack with his R-Action, follow up with 2C FC all day, everyday. Pretty damn easy match up for Yosuke imo if you play the match up properly and stay at that distance where he doesn't have much of an answer for your gimmicks and you'll do fine. Just know due to Yosuke's low health, two bad decisions can lead to your death.

In Sukukaja mode, I tend to like to dash in with 2A instead of 5A due to its hitbox. It'll prorate more but being able to duck under some attacks and the fact that it's a low attack will help it land more often especially at that speed.

That's really because the game is kind of in its infancy and people don't know how to properly punish mashing with frame traps. Learn to punish it with sexy FC combos and you'll be glad people think mashing is a good way to win.

GGs to Sadistic for some lolzor games. Got to try out silly stuff with characters I don't normally play. Kanji really is just like Tager. Three good reads and you win! If this turns into a fight due to misunderstanding, I'm going to be really sad.

I've seen people start so free and end up fairly competitive. It's really a nice thing to see when you see a player grow over time and you can see their progress first hand. I'll tell you one thing that all of those players I've seen improve have in common above everything else that was instrumental in their ability to level up. It was their attitude. Lucky for everyone, unlike talent you don't have to be born with a good one.

Thanks. Ya I thought about going even more in-depth about other possible outcomes like late techs but if I didn't want to go overboard on one setup since I had a lot of things to cover. I'll probably go with even more advanced tech and setups for the next video to ramp things up.

Most things are bad indications of skill. Some guy might have 100 matches played with 100 wins and that doesn't mean crap if he was in a room beating up someone that has no idea how to play the game for hours. I suggest you not sweat the details and just play. Then, you'll see your performance will speak for itself. I'm gonna be playing later tonight if you want to add me. I'll play anyone with a good connection with me that's not a total asshole =D.

When you land a j.2C or crescent slash > j.2C, that's an excellent time to add OMB to add a meaty chunk of damage. You get a nice chunk of damage off OMB off a air grab as well. All those will add a good 2k+ damage or so without meter use and obvious more with.

It certainly is a departure from Rachels triple Ds. Anyway, I'm all P4A'ed out since I've been working on this video for a while, I'll get back on netplay tomorrow though.

Maybe he means not having to change timing for some parts of the combo? You do have to delay certain hits to make it work against certain characters.
