  1. That seemed to have done the trick. Many thanks
  2. My apologies if this has been answered already, but I didn't see anything via a quick skim. I'm having trouble with Plat's Challenge #5/ 3c > 22c in general: Bang techs like 60% of the time before before my 22c hits. Do I just need to do the 22c faster or am I missing something here?
  3. Is there a certain way that one is suppose to do (jc)> jA> jC> A dive> dive cancel 5d> (hjc)> jA> jC> jD (ragna, hazama, tsubaki, lambda)? My A dive or 5d tends to land too far away from the opponent (currently trying on Tsubaki). Should I be executing the jc -> j.a -> j.c faster or something?
  4. Many thanks m(-_-)m
  5. Thanks. And also, is there some kind of glitch with Arakune's challenge #4 (j.a -> j.6a -> jc -> j.a -> j.b -> j.c -> j.d)? Whenever I try j.a -> j.6a, it keeps registering as two j.a's :/ Is there a certain way or time am I suppose to go from the j.a to the j.6a? And for challenge #09, what is the purpose of the j.2a -> j.2b [input before landing]? (FC5c -> jc -> j.a -> j.c -> j.2a -> j.2b -> 5d)
  6. How does the re-curse limitation work? Like if a combo that would normally produce 100% is used while in an already-cursed combo, will it stop at at 99% or something?
  7. This is also rather possible. Maybe play around with the entire cast for a week. Watch vids and see which ones you like best. Read about them. Try some of their challenge modes. Also, possibly go to the "Picking a Main" thread and tell them how you play and if they can suggest any characters.
  8. For j.b+c -> j.5d -> 5d -> JC -> j.a -> j.c -> 5d, is there a certain height that I have to grab the opponent for my j.5d to land?
  9. SE = Smaller TE with cheaper parts that supposedly crap out on you within days. However, you can buy the SE and just replace all the buttons and the joystick with Sanwa parts and basically have the same thing as a TE but in a smaller case.
  10. Saturday after next. Will be the last weekend before my finals. Great way to get pumped!
  11. Not in Charlotte atm. Stupid holidays...

  12. How do people break green grabs? Do they recognize the animation or do they actually have that sharp of reflexes? O.o
  13. Ah, that makes much more sense. Thanks d00d/d00dette.

  14. Lol, I think I'm the same ^^ SFIV never really appealed to me and I simply don't care for Tekken.
  15. I'd suggest square. If you ride the gate (which, as Marisa has said, you shouldn't), octo gates have waaay more excess throw for 2, 4, 6, and 8.
  16. Sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything with DL's search. Is there a particular reason why j.a -> j.6a usually comes out as j.a -> j.a (referring to Arakune's challenge mission #4)? I'm relatively sure that I'm inputting the j.6a cleanly after the j.a, even waiting a bit between the two but more times than not, just two j.a's come out :/ Am I doing something wrong here?
  17. I'm generally new to/suck at BB but as I've been observing some of my local better-than-me players (as well as fighting them and getting my tail handed to me), it seems as though a basic mechanic of the game is to land the most/longest combos before your opponent. Like for me, my two biggest problem match ups are vs Litchi, Noel, and Rags. When I play them, I screw up a pressure game and they punish me. They combo, and combo, and combo and before I know it, I'm left with a sliver of health. I think this is a fundamental difference between BB and other fighting games. Where it seems SF is about poking and mind games, BB is about landing long strings of combos before your opponent land long strings of combos. Am I wrong?
  18. A vid of a Tao player showing how to do combos: linky But as Domethieus said, do whatever's most comfy for you. I personally started off with "wineglass" but had difficulties doing backsteps/left dashes (cuz I would use my whole arm ><) then played around with the "Daigo" grip and settled with that. Give a grip a week or so and if you're still not liking it, try another one.
  19. Ah, so I might as well get used to hjc now, eh? Thanks
  20. Good day. I'm new to Arakune and was wondering, what advantage is there to hjc instead of a regular j.c? (ex, (JB) > 5A*1~2 > 6B > (HJC) > J6D ) Sorry for the n00b question...
  21. Excuse me for being a n00b, but at the risk of getting flamed to hell and back, what does Free mean? I've only recently started hearing this (recent being yesterday during St1ickbug's stream).
  22. Speaking of Valk, is there any word on when he'll be coming to the 360?
  23. 3 hours you say? Hell, I thought I was special with my one hour a day (and still sucking at consistent combos). Looks like I'll be upping my game

  25. Yeah, for the sake of argument, let's say tourney level play.
