  1. Settin my heart aflutter with that nyan talk.
  2. So I know people are hopping at the chance to add information and gameplay content, but I feel the need to stress: Don't rush, there's plenty of time before she comes out to create a good forum infrastructure. I am a terrible hypocrite in this matter, as I'm currently in the process of building a general guide and FAQ. But! Because this forum still lacks a moderator, it will be unrealistic to create and maintain synergy between all the threads. Therefore. Before creating a thread, I would like to make a personal request that everyone first post the idea and content here so that the community can discuss the need and organization of aforementioned thread. Please, don't take this as me singling anyone out, I simply don't want things to spin out of control, thus am offering a reasonable suggestion to the community as a whole.
  3. Filled in the blanks on item descriptions and application. ^ Re-emphasis on the violent red text on the top.
  4. No go bro. If ANY sprite data has been released so far, I've yet to see it. We'll just have to rely on the videos. Thanks for the link, it's a great format.
  5. I love the Guides section, it's an excellent reference. ...But you're probably right, duplicate data never hurt anyone as long as it was all correct. A Proration/Framedata thread certainly couldn't hurt, and would open up a channel for discussion.
  6. Thanks youz~ To be honest, I think the frame data should sit in the "Guide" section of the site, with reference links and quotes to it when it matters. Like I said earlier though, if the amount of relevant discussion and information is large enough, it definitely deserves it's own thread in that case.
  7. Pretty sure Hiago's just giggling in general about everything. In other news, wrote a small guide to Plat's items, 1/2 done with that section. 10500~ was the communal estimate gained from the BBCS2 discussion thread.
  8. Santa has everything. He's Santa. No seriously, where are my Loketest videos.
  9. Keep in mind Tournament noteriety takes some place in becoming a mod. Not only must you be a well-organised member of Dustloop, but also a powerful, fearsome player. I'm sure the admins will chose wisely. (Cirnbro I'm not bashing you.) Though I agree Platinum's Oki is shaping up to be a very powerful tool, I still think it'll be a bit too simple to require an entire thread. Hopefully I'm wrong. ...(lawl Cirnbro) ...()
  10. Looking back now I can't find it in the changelogs of the Loketests, but referencing a video of the loketests, there was a noticeable increase of speed to 5c, with discussion saying it was her entire C-series. I'll go look for it. Edit: Like Ve said, it's unconfirmed, but defenitely apparent. (Sorry for torrent-quoting you Ve, just happens. )
  11. I'm sure Arcsys would love for this to happen, and I would too. Lining up the content patch with the arcade release would be a smart descision in my book. But, as you said, nothing confirmed. (Though Platinum, if she follows the current DLC trend, SHOULD be availible early December.) I dunno, even with the damage nerfs her spacing game seems tighter through 236a and faster steins/C-series. That level of control increase is a powerful asset to my playstyle at least. Though we'll have to wait and see if something great became something dazzling. Though we did loose the 3c knockdown, I think the 2c>6c gatling replaces it nicely. So to me she didn't really lose any tools, and only seemed to gain through the patching process.
  12. With j.2c loops still in place, along with the existing buffs... She's sounding mighty powerful compared to her old self, especially with everyone else getting shot in the kneecaps.
  13. Big damage is by by no means the only way to victory. Corner combos reward spacing, if your opponent is better at spacing, then they should win the match anyway, no matter where the damage takes place on screen.
  14. Mu is THE Oki character, due to the way steins work, I think Platinum's oki options will be limited enough for a brief summary in the general guide. I mean it's basically. Bubble? Bubble! Missile? Missile! Might was well start out with two or three well-organised threads, then add more if the content overflows.
  15. WORK. IN. PROGRESS. 99% OF INFORMATION PRESENTED IS BASED ON THEORYCRAFTING AND ASSUMPTIONS DUE TO THE LACK OF SOLID TESTING GROUNDS. THIS THREAD WILL BE UPDATED CONSTANTLY AS INFORMATION IS RELEASED. Table of Contents Basic Movelist Specials Heat Usage Situational Awareness Hello, and welcome to Platinum the Trinity. Platinum is a character that specializes in capitalization, adaptation and good positioning. Her opportunistic fighting style originates from the incredible variety of options her drive allows, along with very utilitarian specials. The combination of variable drives, strong spacing and a good movement game make Platinum a strong contender in the hands of a patient, fluid and highly interactive player. This guide is built to not only introduce players to the character, but also as a comprehensive reference for competitive play. Movelist - I would personally like to thank Cirno for compiling the majority of this information in his blog, which is a major source for this guide. Platinum's normal pool lacks overheads, thus her mix-up and pressure is rather weak without jump-ins. However, through proper application of Swallow Moon and Items, she can force some very tight, clean blockstrings. Alternatively, the same cancel techniques can be applied to create distance from the opponent and open up Drive/Special spacing options. Will be used to notate aerial actions because I feel like it. Command: [Damage/Heat] Move Description. [X/Y] A small handclap, short reach. [X/Y] Small jab with the end of the staff. Hits low. [X/Y] Pokes diagonally upwards with staff's handle for air combos. Hits crouchers, but does not hit high. [X/Y] Punch angled downwards. (not confirmed due to bad quality of videos) [X/Y] Side swipe with staff. Long reach, seemingly her best poke. [X/Y] Slide with staff. Hits low. [X/Y] Marisa's ass attack. Hits high, but seems difficult to follow up. (maybe impossible?) [X/Y] Turns backwards and attacks with small wings. Looks like it hits high. [X/Y] Quick strike with staff, looks high but hits mid. Short range, JC on hit and block. [X/Y] Thrusts staff into ground and a heart shape attacks the opponent. Antiair. [X/Y] Swings herself on her staff and kicks low, trips. Can OTG. [X/Y] Spins with her staff on the spot. Fatal Properties. Has lower body invincibility. [X/Y] Smacks with staff by spinning in midair while riding it. [X/Y] Dramatic kick downwards, though does little damage. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_bbutton.gif' alt=':bbt:'> [X/Y] Summons a huge bell and knocks the opponent away. Combos in corner. [X/Y] Uses the bell to bounce opponent directly beneath her. Can follow up. Drive Summary - Pressing the D button will randomly select one among 6 types of equipment/modes for Platinum's staff. After selecting, various techniques corresponding to the staff mode can be used (with certain restrictions). The following staff mode is notified at the bottom through the symbol next to the word NEXT. Platinum does not start the match with a drive item equipped, and must press D to acquire it. Every time you push D with the equipped staff, the number of times you can use the associated technique will decrease. Pressing the D button again once the item has disappeared will make it appear again with the next type of equipment. Platinum's drive is the ONLY GAMEPLAY ASPECT of Blazblue that relies on RNG (random number generators). Therefore, it is critical to never place your bets on a certian item draw, as that's unreliable and competitively unrealistic. Cat (5 uses) [X/Y] Vertical strike. Range of Litchi 6B and takes about 10F to come out. Knocks opponent down. [X/Y] Same as above, but hits high. The simplest item, textbook Heavy Kick with massive range and good power. Unrealistic as part of Platinum's mixup, as the long recovery time provides poor follow-up options outside of the corner. However, on counterhit this item becomes a wonder, a screen-wide initiator to a strong bnb is no joke, because it's too scary to laugh at. Hammer (3 uses) [X/Y] Knocks down. Does heavy damage, but can’t combo afterwards. Used for ending combos. [X/Y] Quick, straight falling hammer. Breaks 2 primer, good as an aerial ender. Loli SMASH. The hammer is Platinum's equivalent of Lambda's Crescent Blade or dare I say Mu12's obliteratingly good Sword of Decimation. Though none of these moves have easy followups, their status as primer-removal tools and combo finishers is frightening. Not only do these abilities deal considerable damage, but the amount of frame advantage they give as a finishers allows for whole new levels of okizeme. Impliment appropriately. Bat (3 uses) [X/Y] Swings in front of her. Short reach and can’t follow up, but has i-frames from 1F. [X/Y] Swings horizontally. Hard to hit with. It's not Infernal Divider or Origins, but this DP has a trick up it's sleve. It doesn't require a directional imput. Crossups attempting to bait an incorrectly-directed DP eat a double, maybe even a home run on CH (I'm looking at you Bang). This is hardly Platinum's only option during a lockdown, and shouldn't be conserved for such situations. If you have it, capitalise on it, if you don't need it, Momo. Attempting to hide a trump card up your sleeve doesn't work when the opponent can see the trump card. Specific item preservation will make your playstyle stale and predictable, which has very poor synergy with Platinum's diverse and interactive strengths. Frying Pan (3 uses) [X/Y] Swings the frying pan. Short reach, but will spin opponent on hit. Attacking afterwards will keep them in standing state. [X/Y] Swings it below her. Overhead. Bounces, so it leads into combos. Spin on hit is very, very good, and has a lot of synergy with Platinum's BnB's, which focus on moving your opponent into an advantagous position more than they do damage. That being said, the pan provides a bridge between combos. For example, a midscreen CH bnb could end with a pan strike instead of your weapon of choice. The resulting follow-up bnb from pan would take place close to the corner, and may allow corner-specific damage depending on the specifics of the spacing. In short, Pan allows for longer, more movement-oriented combos. Bomb (6 uses) [X/Y] Tosses bombs horizontally in a parabolic arc, huge range and height. Goes through other projectiles, and continues to explode on ground. [X/Y] Identical to grounded use. The bombs are a powerful spacing tool with excellent range. Ideally, they should be used to harass the opponent after a respect zone is created. Optimal for increasing existing distance, as well as forcing an opponent at range to either block, or close with you under the bomb's trajectory for an attempt to punish. Blocked bombs provide time for repositioning, Momo for more bombs or Sally for traps. Forcing the opponent to close is also a fine alternative with good foresight and judgement, as Platinum's normals have an excellent balance of range and speed that destroy the mashed/hastily planned approaches that come from projectile harassment. Missile (3 uses) [X/Y] Flies straight forward. [X/Y] Identical to grounded use. The missile is arguably Platinum's most versatile tool. The missile has unlimited horizontal range and can be combo'd off counter-hit, making it the weapon of choice against zoners and more defensive players. With a combination of good speed and damage, limited punishability due to a low recovery time, and screen-wide influence, missiles have amazing synergy and applicability. In fact, the only time they don't shine is when Platinum is suffering a hard lockdown from a rushdown character, but that's what 5b and the Bat are for.
  16. Mu lost her corner loops, and gained quite a bit of midscreen versatility, on top of the fact that she already shined when she had room to work with.
  17. + Implementable Drive Combos Supers/Astrals Fatals/High Grossing ^Would cover pretty much all of it. Oh hey Hiago's awake.

  19. Bnb is roughly 2750~ 5B > 5C> 236B > 5C > jc > j.5B > j.5C > jc > j.5B > j.5C > j.236XXX About the highest one we can notate at the moment, due to the video availableness, apparently there's a Dot Typhoon combo that nets 5k off a corner throw but it's not taped so I can't notate it.
  20. I'll call my contacts at the North Pole.
  21. Done. Thanks man.
  22. Gack, these things explode in size so fast, I knew I missed something.
  23. Well, Cirno compiled the known data and I dissected all the current videos with a critical eye. But yes, very cool stuff. I'd like to rescind my previous statement: And NOW say. We're out of Vespene.
