From what I have seen, more or less. I think CP Makoto is more similar to the Extend version than the CS1&2 one. However she got some new useful tools, and got better midscreen combos. I'm quite happy with her. I was watching the OD info, and even though Makoto is not the strongest character without overdrive (actually she's quite low in the tier list), her OD time is below the average (a lot)!...-_-. I guess only Hakumen has less time than her and Bang being more or less like her, the rest of the cast has a lot more time in OD. I guess they foresaw the insane combos that Makoto can do in OD. -

I was thinking about this interview. Do you think this BB could be the last one of the series (story wise)? I mean, I remembered someone telling that Mori said that he needed at least one more game after BBCP to finish the story. But considering that the PS4 is almost released and now ASW is working (or thinking) on another fighter for it, I think now BB has less lifetime than before. And now I'm not that sure if they will continue with a patch/expansion (BBCP2) for the next year and then a BB4 for 2015 and then its' upgrade later on. Maybe they will do as they did with CT (it didn't have an upgraded version) and immediately come with the next game. -
Here in Costa Rica KOF is still getting some good love, and for sure more than BB... I don't think this game is THAT unbalanced but dunno, I agree with Star-Demon that this game is hard as hell.

Did someone notice that in the official website, in the chars section, there is 1 slot left to complete the two rows of chars? That after adding Mu and Izayoi. And Mu doesn't have color pallete pair...could it mean something? -

^Pretty much THIS! I think it will be stable again after a month or so of BBCP, after the hype lays down a bit. UNiB has a very interesting gameplay to die already. Their best bet maybe is to wait a bit then go for some patch/hype maker. -
It happened the time when I was playing a lot offline Melty Blood and Guilty Gear on PC with others (the one that hooked me into 2D FG was MB), then I thought that I needed a PS3 FG so we can play online well. After doing some quick research I found that a game named BBCT was going to be released a month later, I liked the art and it was from ASW, so it got some instant points. By that time it was between BB or SFIV, but street was a bit too slow for my taste, so I went BB. It was awesome! And I'm still playing and buying every iteration of the game, the hype just doesn't lay down.

^Very true. I don't think she will be overused, she wasn't in CS1/CS2 and she won't be right now. With UNiB something similar happened, lots of seth's and yuzu's at first and now it's very balanced. Makoto won't be god tier this time to be considered either for those who want to play top. And she always was/is one of the simplest character of the cast (not braindead! nor Ragna). I think that this time we won't see overused characters anyway, even more when the cast has become really big to supply everyone tastes. -

I think the fact that Taokaka is faster in everything than Makoto kills her rushdown, her stronger attribute.....she's annoying as hell, just below Arakune xD. So, Makoto and Bullet are the most used characters so far then, right? -

I think Tao in CS2/CSEX were ok (except for the taunt loop and that), but now she is like in CT now. She's dealing so MUCH damage out of nothing, she will be a pain this time around for everyone not just Makoto. -

I like more Ryota's Makoto, but anyway I never saw to much Makoto users in japan even in CS1/CS2. But a lot of characters are also starting come pretty far away. I saw today the Kohatsu Friday Tournament and that Tao is pushing people to the corner from really far away. But I have to say 6C > 214A~D doing wall stick is awesome. -

Hey there! It seems like her OD won't be crappy as I thought, actually it looks pretty good (for everyone). I have been watching some videos and I saw that now you can start some corner combos from farther away (outside OD), is it just me or the untechable time of 5D(Lv3) increased? I think it is still pretty soon to tell she's gonna sucks in CP, there's still time to make changes and people didn't try everything. Also, from the videos I recall that the makoto player connected the crush trigger in the corner combo, tried to connect lander blow a few times (without success), and tested the air-grab, which is useful again. I agree with the part that she's still similar to her EX version, but i don't think she will be at the bottom this time. I'm ok with that, I don't want her to be top tier again (CS1&2). My only worry right now is that her OD doesn't seem more useful than the burst.

From what I have seen, they are having a hard time with hilda. Dunno, but from the videos she doesn't have anything to release herself from pressure (duh she's a zoner, but still). Also, her combos need to be exactly in mid-range to land it, from a far she can't connect to much hits. The good point, she's a great zoner and does a good job keeping the opponent away. But obviously it's difficult to start with a totally new char when the rest of the cast have so many tools discovered. We will have to wait a bit more until someone starts to polish her up. -

Wow, she looks far better than her current battle outfit. I can't believe some people said she was a char from a 1ms pic of the intro xD, and the stupid discussion if she was tsubaki or not because of her color eyes xD. Anyway, I'm just glad we got more chars, maybe it IS true that with all the space in the character selection screen we can have 2-3 more chars *_*. About the vids (thanks to digital masa and isuna for them xP), I didn't notice any strong nerfs over makoto, actually I think she will be similar to her Extend version, just a bit improved. And Azrael is faster than I thought, his dash/teleport is VERY useful, and his attacks aren't that slow. Damn, next Wednesday can't come any faster.... ._. -

^ You got a point there! And i think too this won't be in the big screen at EVO regardless if it is for console or not. I still like my ps3 to play fightings and some good titles, and my pc for RTS, maybe Shooters and some solo games. And I'm still thinking steam isn't the best place to export it, a lot of steam games are cracked and people will exploit it. Maybe not us 'cause we would like for them to continue developing, but not other FG players or generally a lot of players and that could cost them (Let's hope that's not the case). The thing the bugs me is why did they almost abandon upgrades/support for PC melty, stating that it would kill the community, and now they come with a PC port for UNIB? Anyway, I'm still getting the game and I need a new PC either way and next year i will be working so i guess i can afford a good one for UNIB. -

Personally, I don't like the steam idea, at least for a fighting game. I know it represents the safer risk for a game port, but i think arcade>console>PC in FG. I know what Agni said is true, but your monitor is smaller than your tv, you have to be sit always (for me sometimes is uncomfortable), for people like me that have to upgrade the PC to play it's way expensive, playing with your friends will be weird with reduced space and almost all the community is in the consoles outside japan. I prefer just to import it for PS3 as i did with arcana -_- (i don't even care if it isn't released outside japan). If they want this game to pass unnoticed in the FGC make it for PC (this won't make it to EVO in PC). Also, it will have high risk of hacking it, and didn't French Bread say that the Melty Blood PC port killed some arcade tournaments? Meh....This sucks. Good things: -Somehow we are getting the game. -Netplay is better. -

Exactly, you just have to play and play, until you get the right timing. Of course, that will screw the offline timing (at least that happened to me), but after some time of playing both online and offline, you will just need a match or two to re-adapt to the respective timing. Still lag is a huge disadvantage for makoto because of that. I think lag affects everyone, but the ones that get a bonus of the lag are the chars that hit hard with small combos (*ahem*...tager I'm looking to you!) -

Keep going, when I started learning her when she was released, I just kept losing for two months or more (and lag doesn't help xD). Right now, my porcentage is quite positive. Obviously, more effort is needed to win with her now than back then, but i don't feel her as the lowest tier that some people say. She still has great corner combos as everyone else, and in midscreen you just have to get hang of it. She just got balanced, in CS and CSII was way to strong. Don't forget that she is still pretty fun to use xP. Makoto isn't near of what Rachel was in CS. (Thankfully....) -

I prefer to use a variation of this combo, because i think its easier to dash before the 2C. On the corner 5D > 666A > 2D > 2C, but 6A won't hit on jin, carl, and valk, so i change that part of the combo for those chars.
