I'm not going to lie H-F, your reaction kind of cracked me up. You looked at me like I was in the wrong part of town, playing the wrong Examu game. Lets be honest, if the hunger for waifu on waifu violence was that real, I would have found the mythical third setup. You say that like it's a bad thing. H-F played about 50 games with my wack-ass Saki so I think he would have been up for anything. That and pretty much everyone else other than H-F is garbage at the game so it would have been a fair fight.

The only thing more OP than Charizard is two Charizards!... or Dark Ronald. UNIEL will have online -- it's being handled by ArcSys, so it'll probably have the same featureset as BBCP and AH3:LM.

Sounds like a plan. Also, I don't know if you got the latest IIDX data or not but if you want it, bring a big ass USB stick (>32GB) and I can give you a copy. People usually start getting here at around 6-7 PM or so. That also gives me some time to take a nap after work because I'm old as shit. D:

It looks like we're having a session at my place Friday night (tomorrow), mainly for AH3 (dat Love Max!!!!! hype) and GG (because that always end up happening here, somehow)... although I can run nearly anything (except UMvC3, don't even try it).

Don't believe the hype about those tier lists. Chizuru is still the #1 character in Aquapazza... although the more I played the more I realize she's not as far from everyone else as I thought. As for the VF list, I can only really see that making sense in an environment everyone's defense is really on point (as it seems like all of the setup/oki characters are bottom tier). That and the individual tier lists carry no external context -- an E-tier character in VF is not the same as an E-tier character in SF.

I always had random problems with the old forum but most of those issues seem to be resolved with the change to Invision, so I've been checking this thread way more consistently. The original UNIB release was God awful, but they fixed a ton of issues in UNIEL. And let's be honest, anything that's not Gundam, SF4 or BB doesn't have a ton of players. If you're really worried about a playerbase, you're in the wrong genre -- go play LoL or something. :p (ducks from all of the Dota 2 players in this thread.)

That's true for about 80% of the cast, though. Even closer-range characters (like Linne or Eltnum) have some giant-ass hitboxes.

When I was playing in Japan, I was playing Eltnum and she was pretty damn fun -- French Bread did a good job changing her for the new game. I see a lot of Eltnum mirrors in my future though. D: I wanted to play Seth in the original game, but he seems way too high effort in UNIEL now. (Yes, I'm that lazy.) I also want to see what Nanase plays like, but we know fuck all about her.

Ryd says he's getting here at 7 or so, H-F usually gets here around that time as well, Orrax tends to show up at 9ish... yeah. I don't have anything definite because lol planning.

Apparently people are coming by my place tonight for some GG and other games (I always get suckered into playing Arcana Heart these days...), just in case some people here are hungering for some games. Im@s hasn't been exclusive to the X360 for years and Hot Shots Golf is owned by Sony, so RIP. The one thing that concerns me a little bit about the XBone in Japan is that all of the shump devs (Cave, G.Rev, etc.) are on board. If all of the shump developers end up only on the XBone, that'll be annoying.

Last I heard it's coming after they roll the game out to Europe, which is happening... tomorrow. So sometime between Real Soon Now and when the US version of PSO2 comes out.

Fixed. :V Sound Voltex can get quite nuts. IIDX gets even nuttier though. These are both from the last national championship... too bad the format they used for IIDX was so awful. I don't think anyone wants to watch people play AA and Devilz Staircase for two straight hours. That would explain all of the TouhouKancolle merchandise.

Self-esteem? When I started playing, people would tell you that they were going to kill your whole family -- and they were standing right next to you, not behind some keyboard. This is one of those situations where everyone looks foolish: neither player looked good, and you pretty much never get anything intelligent from the stream monsters during the event. I should chill out a bit though, what I'm expecting from people a month in is a bit much (as I was told multiple times popping off drunk in Philly... and once I sobered up, I realized they were right). I'm not going to lie though, after watching some of the games at NEC I want to play more BB. I can't possibly play worse than that, can I... actually, I just did. D:

Wait, we need an excuse to blame Ted for everything? I don't think I'm going to travel to Tucson on Friday -- hell, I had more trouble staying awake on the drive home from Ruben's as it is. Doing that for two hours and I'll probably end up driving into a cactus or six. I'll be hosting at my place Saturday (and if I wasn't, Tempered would be anyway). We have two setups for BBCP here, if you want more you'll need to bring them.

Thanks to Ruben for hosting (how the hell do you have more furniture than me in that place?) and to everyone I played for the games. You think I would have learned this lesson by now, but fighting games are hard. D: The worst thing you can do with UMvC3 heads, from my experience, is to put something that's not UMvC3 in front of them. If this actually happens, I would have no problem helping running brackets and all, but just don't expect much in the way of crossover from other games.

I think he's referring to TGITSB, which is planned to be every other week at TNL (let's see how long the traditionally flaky-ass community sticks with it), which is acutally live right now on Arturo's stream.

Part of me would love to see an all-Kokonoe top 8 at NEC, just for the salt. I'm of both minds -- if she really is that broken, prove it, and if it really is that bad and ArcSys won't do anything about it, then we should have this talk. (Yes, I think Chizuru should be banned in Aquapazza and Chun should be banned in 3S -- but in those examples, it's pretty clear what they did to the meta, and America doesn't do either soft bans or team tournaments.)

I guess that's one way to beat Kokonoe's unblockable setup... Short answer: PS3 games will not work on the PS4. Longer answer: from what I've heard, Sony's plan is, in the future, to make older games playable through Gaikai, so you would be streaming the older games through the cloud service (with the applicable input lag, bletch). So I wouldn't want to be playing any fighting game on that service. As for setups, I can bring one. Ruben, can you (or someone else) PM me your address as I don't think I've ever been over there (even after all this time). I could probably beat it out of someone but I would rather not. :p

Apparently there's a gap in the lightning that she summons, so if you do a neutral tech with the right timing you don't wake up into it and then you can reversal her before she gets the super out? I'm not sure how well that works, that's just something I read on IRC. I haven't paid for her to test it out. ;_;
