There's something about a combo I tried yesterday and I'm not sure what to think about it, maybe you can shed some light on the matter. The combo (opponent in corner): 5b 5cd 3c8d 5b jc j.c 2d djc j.2c(lvl2) (land) 2a(w) 5c(w)c 214a 3c 236a (frog hits) etc. After setting the frog, when I dashed up and did 3c, the combo bluebeated. What's weird about this is I had all tech options for the dummy turned on (neutral airtech, emergency tech on, quick getup and stagger recovery on) so technically there should be no way I can do a bluebeat combo on the dummy. Did I miss an option in the settings or could this be a bug, and this combo isn't really escapable?

1st match well, obviously you didn't do a lot of mistakes because it was a double perfect lol. Don't know what to say, seemed like solid play to me. 2nd match you did some more mistakes or maybe Zeth just adapted well. Saw some unsafe summons (Bang close while you're cornered etc.) but I know it can be hard making right decisions all the time, especially when being pressured and at a disadvantage. Generally I'd say use 2b 5b loop more, especially when dashing in after a blocked frog. Often you only did 5a/5b -> 3c and that practically ended your pressure. All in all however you did well (certainly better than me^^)

@TD I don't think 6c's p2 kicks in after the first hit if it's the combo starter. I'm pretty sure I've seen a standard corner combo w/o heat starting from 6c do ~4k. -

What donkeyknifer says is basically right. General gameplan is: Create space, summon pumpkin. Then either wind in with pumpkin and start mixups, or summon frog and start spamming lobelias (occasionally with wind to speed them up & push george closer). If the opponent blocks the frog, dash in & mixup. If he gets hit for some reason, combo into a knockdown with pumpkin or frog. In my opinion it's important to know how to pick up random hits with Rachel so that they end in knockdown with pumpkin or frog. That comes with experience. Additionally if you didn't read it already, check out kro's old CT Rachel guide. Are you sure it doesn't work on Lambda? I'm pretty sure I've done it on her before. If it's just sword iris whiffing, it might a (micro)spacing issue?

If you get a random frog hit and have 1 wind, do the 5b blabla into lvl2 j.2c, then either 236b air iris finisher midscreen for damage or 2a(w) 5c(w)c 214a/b if near the corner for oki (if you can't do that consistently, just do 5cc 214a/b) If the frog hits during a combo midscreen, then you shouldn't have racked up a lot of hits so you can still do lvl2 j.2c stuff, or just 3c 214b for easy knockdown & oki and a chance at corner carry. If the frog hits during a combo in the corner, then it should be planned anyway :P Either 5cc dash 3c 214c 3c 214a/b or if you are unsure about it (because of proration etc), just 5cc 214b and summon frog with pumpkin protection later. -
Gli, right now for Rachel's basic corner combo you notated a dash after 3c/5b. Delete that please cause it's not correct :3 Also, maybe put 214b in parentheses after 236a and add a note that it adds pumpkin to frog oki but makes the timing stricter.

By the way, I don't think it's been posted yet, but I'm confident (not 100% sure and can't test it) that 3c now picks up all characters after 5CC due to the new way 5CC knocks down now. For example, what I know from personal experience (corner) 5b 5cdc 214a 3c(1) 236A (frog hits) etc. works on Hazama and Lambda now, which were 2b 5b/5b 236a chars previously. HOWEVER, even if 3c now picks up all chars, you still have to go with the 5b 236a route on at least Noel, because the 236a whiffs if you do 3c(1) 236a on her. Can please someone test this on all characters so the list can be corrected in the tutorial thread (which right now has Hazama and Lambda as 5b 236a chars amongst others but not Noel)?

Sounds to me like you aren't jump-canceling the j.C. Remember, it's ~j.C THEN 2D THEN jumpcancel THEN (delayed) j.2C (lvl2)~ -

Cancel j.2C into 2A after landing, if they don't don't use emergency rise they'll get hit by it. Continue into 5B - aircombo - j.2C and do it again. I think another repetition would however start to bluebeat at every hit so it's a good idea to try an airthrow reset if you think they're mashing on tech (they most likely are by now). Midscreen frog you can't really "autopilot" punish. If you think they'll roll backwards, you can dash forward after setting the frog and hit them while rolling or at least keep them in blockstun again (wind the frog forward for more mixups). If they neutral tech, you can do the usual frog stuff. If they roll forward... I'm not sure, but aren't they kind of forced to block the frog then? If not, do 2A (into 5B etc.) once they switched sides, it should hit them. -

It's easier if you do it in the corner. Immediately cancel j.C into BBL and then input 1D - it will still register correctly and BBL hits fully on a cornered opponent without wind as well (so you don't need some stupid timing).

Afaik his 6A has an upper body guardpoint, but is vulnerable to lows. I'm not sure if 2B would beat it because it's also an projectile (and 6A also guards projectiles now iirc), but 3C should definitely work (and it's also a fairly good combo starter now because of its buffed p1).

Regarding Hotaru punish: I tried it now and when he lands on the ground, he can block anything I do afterwards. It's however possible to catch him with 5B while he's still in the air (into the usual lvl2 j.2c stuff). This however requires you to be fairly close, dashing up doesn't work.

lvl3 j.2c is always a fatal no matter the situation, not only on counterhit. I don't think it was known though that lvl2 j.2C is a FC on CH though and it's also not evident from the frame data. -
