  10. GGs JusticeForNone Not sure why but the connection is not as good as used to be....
  11. Lol I dont think klaige liked my post Im just going to delete it. Sorry didn't mean to derail your thread
  12. You honestly believe making FRCs easier would bring in a slew of new players? I highly doubt that. The people who don't want to spend the time learning FRCs are more than likely just going to complain about something else if they make FRCs easier. I feel that GG already has enough aspects of it's game that cater to newer players. The average characters BnBs and gatlings are fairly simple, directional inputs are pretty lenient, lots of defensive mechanics are very easy to execute (burst, DA, backdash, fd. etc.) Catering to newer players is risky business. I feel that the learning curve of GG is mapped out very well and changing it will do more harm than good.
  13. How many 1 frame window frcs are there? I'm just curious, because the only frc point I've ever felt that was actually difficult is dizzy's icespike. I don't play every character but of the ones I have spent time with it really only took a few days to get it down fairly consistently. Now I'm not saying I can land it 100% and never miss it in a match. But none of them have ever felt overwhelming either and through training and playing casuals I got them down pretty well. The complaints of the FRC difficulty here just sound totally exaggerated, honestly.
  14. I can tell you this, Daigo is definitely more worried about in SF2 than he is in SF4... Does it play to your point? A normal block does not have the same benefits as slashback. Slashbacking lets you punish things your opponent may attempt that a regular block could not. Arc was smart enough to prevent it from becoming too strong by implementing 3 drawbacks to this new mechanic...make it difficult to execute (very small window), disable it on wakeup to keep the oki aspect of the game just as strong AND it leaves you wide open if you miss timed it. If we removed JUST the execution barrier from slashback, that everyone evidently hates, slashback would have become far too prominent in Accent Core.
  15. There are multiple reasons why there SHOULD be execution barriers put in place. My question is this, when should it stop? Should we just keep removing all the execution requirements? Are things like zoning, footsies etc. more meaningful to a game than execution? Maybe they are, maybe not. But I feel everyone is undermining execution simply because they are too lazy to practice. Execution, like zoning and footsies takes time to master. Even though execution is mostly just putting in time in training mode there are other elements to it. How good can you hit confirm against players you've never played against? Can you land your combos in crunch time? Can you regain yourself mentally if you dropped a combo in crunch time?? Am I the only one who finds that aspect intriguing? Sure looks like it... My SF2 argument asks similar questions. Are you willing to try and throw out a dp, knowing you may botch the input, when your health is low? ETC. ETC. Now there is also a whole 'nother topic we can get into... Execution imo has also been used in gg in other ways... not only balancing the game but varying the learning experience of the characters in the cast and thus creating different paths you take as you attempt to master a character. Let's take sol and ino for example... Sol is one of the more basic characters in the game, his bnbs are super easy. Yes his sidewinder loops are somewhat character specific but really they are not THAT hard. Right off the bat you have great tools, good dp, awesome anti air, good normals, etc. All of these fairly easy to utilize. But lets say you spend time to learn your gunflame frc to pressure your opponents and you have your sidewinder combos down, you are ready to rock, right?.WRONG, I remember this stage very clearly...it didn't matter if I could hit my combos, my opponents were not falling for my "mixup" and I found myself up against a massive road block...his mixup SUCKS. Your new challenge is now making his mixup good. This is a pretty abstract skill to master, you have to create some sort of x factor, a way of being unpredictable with predictable oki. Now on the contrary, I started practicing I-no about 3 months ago to hold me over until +R comes out (big mistake on my part.) Her difficulty is presented to you right up front, it is plain to see what your job is. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Her mixup will work, how could it not? It's fucking godly. But you cannot even BEGIN to think of mixing up your opponent until you have put your time in training mode. Your win rate will be DIRECTLY correlated to how well you can hit your combos. Both were/are entirely unique experiences and helped expand my perspective of the game and what characters in fighting games can be. Blocking in this game is quite the challenge already , wouldn't you say?
  16. I already explained why, DPs are very strong in that game. I am in total shock seeing SO many players feel execution is nothing more than a nuisance. Why don't we just ask ARC to make a GG card game. Nothin' but mind games yo.
  17. This is a silly comparison. The characters in SF2 are far more basic and the game as whole is far less complex. DPs and fireballs are very powerful in this game so it is totally understandable and LOGICAL that these moves require you to master a skill in order to use them.
  18. Do people forget that guilty gear was putting crazy numbers before SF4 dropped? I recall 120 man tournies at Final round and SB3. Apparently the game wasn't too hard back then?
  19. Rip2Ya that connection the other day was so godlike. I was hitting all my CL6FRC6s I just couldn't get the damn relaunch to go. I'm working on it though...
  20. Looks good but I doubt ARC would change it. Clearly ARC saw the trailer for fast and the furious 6 and were like "Sol totally has to look like him." Do you smell what the arc is cookin'? Don't worry it's just a ploy to get into more american homes. Look on the bright side...at least this way they don't have to dumb down the gameplay to reach mainstream success they can just ride the rock's coattails.. fuck yes, go arc!!
  21. GGs, always great games when we play You should totally come out for UFGT, the GG tourney should be pretty awesome. GGs to JusticeForNone, connection was awesome today
  22. The connection was fine, honestly. Better than 90% of what I normally deal with, for sure.
