Lets do something about the GGXXAC Netplay!
Sym_ replied to ProblemSkater's topic in Guilty Gear General
Thanks for the hint...if you had any clue what scene I was from you probably wouldn't have wasted your time with such a useless post. I never even remotely suggested online play was a good substitute for offline play. It can however be a good way for new players to gain experience/confidence and learn matchups so they don't show up to every offline session and get BODIED by better players who already understand the game on a higher level. Playing catch up in a game like GG can be rather overwhelming. Realistically you are not going to be able to play on a competitive level unless you have access to multiple sessions on a weekly basis. As it stands most of America DOESN'T have that luxury. -

So judging from Elven's post it sounds like the PSN version is just as bad. So disappointing...I was hoping with the PSN release would come an update/fix to the netcode. I'm starting to lose all hope, I think Arc is pretty intent on leaving us with a half assed netcode. Oh well...with such a bad online experience I don't see a full resurgence of the scene honestly. Once the hype dies down all the new players will get tired of losing and drop off like flies. Good online play is a really solid avenue for expanding/improving your player base. I hope I'm wrong and Arc fixes it...guess we'll have to wait and see. -

Same here, I'm so disappointed!

So I've found several players today with a good connection and minimal lag input. This netcode is fucking with my head.

Much worse, not only is there much more input delay but also an insane amount of FPS dips. Totally unplayable at the moment, ASW needs to fix this ASAP. Perhaps this is why the PSN version was delayed? The netcode is incomplete?? Who knows... -

I agree with teyah, but, no lobbies is super lame. -
[AC] GGXX: Accent Core on PC - now (actually) playable online

Is there anyway to create a lobby? I seem to only be able to make a room for 2 people... -
XBL: robinthekiid Location: Chicago area So this is my bros xbox, I am really curious to see how psn stacks up to live. Everyone says PSN sucks compared to live. So far the emulator for pc plays better online than xbox live, so disappointing.

Need some more matches to confirm but, it feels like the emulator+netcode plays a lot better than xbox live. So sad. -

LOL - The lowest latencies a video game can have is 50ms (three frames) - the PS3 XMB runs at this rate, but few games reach it. - Most 60FPS games have a 66.67ms latency - Ridge Racer 7, for example. - 30FPS games have a minimum potential lag of 100ms, but many exceed this. - Game developers should test their own games using the camera technique in order to weed out bugs - West says that Heavenly Sword's response slows down to 300ms just by turning the character, and reckons it's a technical issue that should have been resolved before going gold with the game. - Citing GTAIV as an example, West suggests that a 166ms response is where gamers notice controller lag, which could also explain the Killzone 2 furore too. - Game reviewers should accurately measure latency for their reviews where controller lag is an issue, in the hope that sloppy game response times come under far more scrutiny. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-lag-factor-article -
- New 2H airbone : During the jump + down H .Former jump has been restored to a new command. return of the pre slash old jump HS - 236D : FRC added right after the jumping animation - 214D : New FB secret garden. - 214S-D : causes wallstick Im not sure if this means her AC j.h will be the same and if you press Down j.h it will be reload style. Perhaps they will remove it entirely? I really wish they were more clear on this. Nonetheless, using EX millia in AC I recorded what could potentially be her new bread and butters...a fusion of AC+#R... http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=15zqbyq&s=6 ACR Millia could be a lot of fun

Good point...but unfortunately AC on ps3 and xbox 360 will have a lot more than 3 frames of lag. -
I seriously hope they go with a GGPO inspired netcode. Doing something like extending frc windows to compensate for input delay would just ruin the game entirely. Not to mention anything beyond 2 frames of delay will make so many characters utterly ridiculous. GGPO netcode or bust imo.

That's entirely up to the player... -

Ugh some of the posts in this thread make me cringe

It may not be popular in Japan but it's huge in America and Europe. They claim they would like to be a big player in the fighting game genre...well here's a perfect opportunity to show some real interest in capturing another demo-graph and expanding (and recapturing to some deegree) their fanbase. It's not like it would be a big investment for them.

So I just purchased mortal kombat collection on steam for 8 dollars and thought to myself...with it's growing popularity, Arc should consider really consider steam. Thoughts?

hope this catches on but it probably wont

what makes you think they wouldn't put Daisuke in charge of the new GG?
