My statement is just based on pure speculation, from the Jin matches I've seen, I haven't really seen anyone go above and beyond to just do something ridiculously creative but legit at the same time. Of course, my opinion may differ in the future. But that is highly dependent on me playing the character myself or seeing really legit creative things in matches. I haven't been following alot of Shirushi's matches so I'll watch some today and see if he found a way to have fun with Jin. @Hoshi, Jourdal, Shin: I main Purple/Black Jin, so..... just needed to get that out there.

Jin doesn't seem like a bad character in CSX, I just think that the new Jin has alot less room for creativity and is really linear in all aspects of comboing, strategy, etc. That's why I believe Tetsu may have switched tbh. Just look at it, Tetsu was never one of the most textbook Jins around. He played the way he felt most comfortable, and now that he can't be as creative as he likes with Jin, he decided to move on. I'll also further that argument by mentioning Ren, one of the more textbook Jins, he really wouldn't have as big of an issue with linear Jin because he plays a very textbook style, with some hints of creativity here and there, but nonetheless, a very optimal, non-risk taking style. ..... but what do I know.

Hi LK, with the death of my PS3, I have been without access to play BBCS2 in any way, shape, or form. I'm getting kinda worried about how much the break from BB will hurt my skill, it's been about 3 months and counting now. (I've never been in a position where I've had to take an extended break from playing) What's the best way to train without actually playing? Upon my return to BB, what should I try to relearn first? How long does it take, in your opinion, to re-develop muscle memory? Thanks in advance! (I'm a Jin main btw)

Basic/Matchup overview: -5C pressure starters are your friend. - Gimmicks are a must. - Don't play keepaway. (Plat's long range with missiles shits on Jin's) - Play offense when Plat has no items. - Play defense when Plat has items equipped. long-distance: j.C is your friend when it comes to getting in. I wouldn't recommend trying to fight long distance because Plat's missile shit blows Jin up, no pun intended, at long range. When at far distances, make it your mission to cover ground and get in mid or close range. mid range: This is probably the best position for Jin to be in for this match up. Mid range gives him enough room to do good damage and pressure, as well as keep him a safe distance away from Magical Bat (and it's invul frames). I recommend starting all strings with d.5C and ending with either TK j.236C or IAD (Cross over) j.B. Short range: Two ways to approach this. Play strict defense and mind games, this is the most optimal style of play when Plat has items equipped. Gimmicks and unblockable set ups are your friend. The second way to approach this is offense, relentless, yet strategic assault, when Plat has no items equipped. The goal of offense to keep Plat from equipping items. When she has no items, Jin can easily overpower her at close range. Best tools: TK j.236C (Mid and Close), j.C (Fullscreen), j.236D in corner Best way to pressure: 5C > SJC > j.236B > jc > j.236x (this is good for keeping safe distance) 5C > IAD cross over > stuff Their strategy vs us: All they want is to get you into the corner, once in the corner Plat can easily net about 4k from grab or heart car CH. Best overall strategy: Don't play keep, stay on Plat. Don't let her get items. In other words, you should approach this match up with the similar mindset to the Jin vs Litchi match up "Play defensive when opponent has the item [Litchi's Staff, Plat's items], and when they dont have any items, play strategic offense" But hell, what do I know? I haven't played this game seriously since CS2 was released.

Lucien replied to Postulio's topic in Misc Fighter Central
anybody on PSN has this and wants to share it? I know its alot to ask, but I wanna play Yang and am too broke to get SF3s atm. please, anyone? -
Dacid was eating those j.A > j.B jump ins.

IB is your friend here. Look out for Ragnas that do DS after stuff like 2B > 2C > DS, alot of Ragnas like to go for short chains into DS. In corner, I advise against jumping out of pressure, you're much better off IB'ing for advantage or using CA

CH 623D(2) > 6C > 623B > 6C > 623C > 5A > 5C > 6C > DC > 623D(2) > 5C > 2C > Hiyoku (Impractical starter(offline anyway), 5449dmg)

Long: Never try to jump in, a good Hazama will bait and punish IAD with 5A/5B/5C/2C. This is where Hazama is at his prime. Use TK j.236C to give you some cover. Close gaps after your j.236C is blocked or hits Hazama. Mid: I'd say this is slightly in Jin's favour. Most of Hazama's blockstrings can be stuffed with IB > stuff. Use 2B > 5B > 5C > JC > j.236A to bait his 2C. Hazama will try to close gaps with 214D~A or back off with IAD to get the distance advantage. Short: Watch out for Hazama's 2A > command grab gimmick. Be on the look out for 6A. Keep blockstrings short and simple. DONT mash during Hazama pressure, Hazama 3C CH leads into 7k, 8k with 50 meter (Jayoku). Tools: You want to use j.236x a bit, don't get obvious with it. Best tool to use against him is j.C, make him block it so you get more options, but it's good (xlolxlolx) Their Strategy: To play keep away, and punish all your jump ins. Pressure: Best way is to use jump cancellabe attacks in blockstrings to set up burst baits and bait Jayoku.

Are you in Japan? Play jo-jin, he's the best netplay JP Jin I've seen. He's like the SHADOWREDzero of Japan.

thank you Moy, you just saved me from a shit ton of typing lol.

I thought Yutta was a Ragna main?

I've been working on a freeze reset from DP loop. It's: 6C > DP B > 6C > DP C > 5A > 5C > 5D > 236D. 236D usually yields a re-freeze, if blocked you can start j.A/5A/5B air pressure.

Overview: I feel the match up is pretty much even, though slightly in Jin's favour. Keep away Jin is the way to play. Spacing and zoning tools are your best friend in this match. Watch out for panic BK, and DS pressure in the corner. CA is essential in the corner. Long distance: Keep Ragna off of you with j.C and j.236C and 5C. Use j.236B to bait OHs. Bait IDs with 2A > IAD j.C. Mid: 5C keep away. Make Ragna respect your new pressuring abilities. 2B > 5B(1) > tick throw. I'll add more later

Tetsu vs Tsuyarin was really interesting. Tetsu gdlk as ever on the hit confirms. 3C > 623A > RC into dp loop x2 > hiyoku was brilliant.

What you NEED to know is that you shouldn't watch a JP match and try to copy every single thing that they do, the mindset you should have when watching high level play is that of an observer, look at what moves they don't do, and what moves that get punished easily so you'd know to not do it, I wouldn't analyze match vids where a player just dominates the other player because in certain matchups that could be misleading to you.
