  1. Makoto? Who is Makoto? Wasn't the P3 main Minato?
  2. Not taking the frames to go into the stance into consideration, 2DA is pretty easy to block, because you simply start low to prevent the low, then stand then you see him go up instead of forward. And that move is 5 frames faster than 6A, so, 6A isn't hard to deal with or anything. Wouldn't a normal overhead be like 20f? I'm...going to try and decypher this. I'm pretty calm right now, so i'm not understanding what you mean. 2DA > j5DA may work, but that's assuming you intend to use that specific followup. I'm not worried about if he was top tier, so you can stop pretending that this is a tier discussion, as i'm pretty far from a tier whore. If I were, i'd be using Kokonoe right about now, no? Certainly not the 2 characters in the game that revolve around links rather than chains like the majority of the cast. What a horribly off-base personal attack.
  3. Not that I care too much about Terumi one way or the other, but, as far as i'm aware, he has no real meterless overhead that isn't a jumping normal, but he does have a command throw, so I don't think he's too far out of options if they don't stop blocking low really.
  4. 1) Hitstun doesn't matter? What? How could it not matter? It makes the recovery part not matter, because, in the end, it means he still can't do anything with it that he couldn't before, and lost blockstun. 2) Not every character has to be the same though. He got the damage off a relatively slow (and not that ambiguous, despite what you're saying) overhead, and his thing kinda should be damage, since he's not going to be speeding around or anything. 3) 2DA cancels into air stance, which means you have to wait for him to drop from the sky to do any further combos, and if you do a followup from the air stance, it adds frames, making plenty of things just not work. This is an outright nerf. Specifically for Kagura, I guess it's not quite as known. However, the stuff we currently know has frame data attached, which is plenty to base an informed opinion on. I understand keeping the peace, and you're right, not everyone will be happy, but it's not as if they can't make the adjustments with the frame data to what is currently on CP to see how it would turn out.
  5. Why though? C normal buffs don't balance those nerfs, and why are weaker characters getting nerfs at all?
  6. Wasn't the original list all buffs for Azrael too? And it had Kagura nerfs for some reason. Let's hope Kagura doesn't get the Makoto treatment, the balancing punchbag.
  7. I don't think Hazama will be bad. I do think he'll have to rely on keep away though.
  8. I think this is separate. Like, some fans finished the game that Mane 6 abandoned after the copyright stuff. I don't think the original team had anything to do with finishing the rest of it, and that other project is it's own thing. EDIT: Also, I can't download this it seems, not from Mega.
  9. I'm actually still plenty interested, I just haven't heard much from Mane 6.
  10. Unfortunately, this is not online. That would have made the game a lot better.
  11. What are these glitches for Xrd that need the patch that SRK is talking about?
  12. My PC controller is a Logitech controller that has a toggle switch, which either makes it read as a 360 controller (which it's on now), or makes it read as a normal gamepad.
  13. Vanguard Princess is on Steam now. It also has a free "uncensored" DLC.
  14. I'm not bashing 3D games in that I think models are just fine for those. That's their purpose. I much rather play a 2D game, but, there are some 3D fighters I play too, like Tekken and Soul Calibur. As for the advantage of 2.5D? It's cheaper and faster to produce, that's about the only advantage. That said, it also generally means slower animations, and unnecessary camera angles or etc on supers that just scream "i'm charging up, don't press a button!", it also cost Xrd quite a bit of its roster, and it just doesn't look as good.
  15. Not sure how Wild Arms 3 is 2.5D, and I loved both of those games (Wild Arms 2 beat 3 for me though, Lord Blazer still stands as one of gaming's more epic moments to me), but yes, it's all personal opinion. I only honestly mind it in fighters.
  16. Basically, 2D fighters should stay 2D sprites, and 3D fighters should have 3D models. The visual style is one-half of the appeal, the other being gameplay style. 2.5D shouldn't even exist, and all it says is "we don't care about 2D, so we're going to do some half-assed 2D". Also, someone posted something about DMC yesterday. I admit to hating new Dante's look, but, I tried the game anyway. I have far bigger problems than aesthetic for DMC.
  17. I've never messed with sprite rips, so i'm not sure what that has to do with anything. Yes it is, and i'm free to have it too.
  18. I've been playing fighters since SF2 on SNES, and Fatal Fury on Genesis. And yes, i'll fully admit i'm a sprite fanboy, because they just look better, and have a lot more feeling and character. I can't? Why not? I far prefer the visuals of, say, Accent Core to Xrd. Far, far prefer. Xrd's aren't horrible, and are especially good for UE, but they're still models, and the special intros and outros got sacrificed. Also, the roster dropped like a ton of bricks. I liked SF EX, and it's not like there aren't 3D games that I play, I just much prefer 2D sprites. I've never heard of "Hyper Neo Geo 64" though.
  19. I understand the business aspect of it, as it costs less to make models than sprites, and they are easier to make, which results in a faster turnaround. To me though, that also dramatically cheapens the product. For instance, I still want to play Xrd, and it looks cool, I like that it doesn't suffer UE ugliness. That said, i'd be far more excited about the game if it was still sprites, and still had special intros as opposed to a stock animation with maybe a different quote (I at least hope they went that far). On a personal level, I don't mind waiting the extra amount of time for the sprites, and since i'm not a shareholder in ASW, I couldn't care less what their development costs are.
  20. http://shoryuken.com/2014/03/01/arc-system-works-toshimichi-mori-says-he-wants-to-bring-blazblue-to-playstation-4/ "Mori also stated that, given the chance, he would like to see BlazBlue given the same graphical update that ArcSys used in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-."
  21. If UNIB actually stood a chance of reaching consoles in 2014, or US at all, I might be more inclined to care. And, even then, is UNIB the last hoorah before we enter a world of only 3D models in fighters? Everything will be too similar.
  22. I saw it coming, but if sprites in fighters go away, i'm just done. Just 100% done. Models ruined SF4, ruined Marvel, the 3D KOF games aren't as good, etc. I'm not even going to bother playing fighters anymore if ALL of them will be models now.
  23. I'm so sad about Mori wanting Blazblue to go to models like Xrd. I already loathe GG going to models, BB going too would be just too much. Sprites >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> models, I don't give a damn how good the models are.
  24. BBCP has a sort of "combo timing", where fast attacks give a very short amount of time to combo after, and heavies have a longer one.
  25. Alright then, because someone was trying to argue with me that he died and was inconsequential to the story.
