My impression was that it was a shorter gauge, but it recharged faster? Or at least, it started to recharge faster. I haven't seen any Anima stuff at all actually. I thought now that it was a legit command grab, that I'd see really cool setups with it. I'm pretty sure I've been saying all along that I wanted it to be a real command grab and here it is, but no one wants to use it lol. I feel like any setups are just gonna get mashed out of. Actually, does Anima come out faster now or what? How useful is Anima to you guys right now in CSE? I hardly ever use it. I don't think that'll change in CP unless I see something amazing. -
I thought Ignis' health got buffed? Or at least it looked that way to me. The meterless reversal thing really isn't as big of a deal as people are saying it is imo. If you have Ignis out, you can Ley+stuff. If you don't, Ley is still quite useful if you can guess right or react super quickly. Vivace is more useful, sure, but only B Vivace for getting out of pressure. A Vivace is pretty awful now that it's lost projectile invincibility in CP.

I was hoping Tenerezza would help us create some crazy new stuff but I'm really sad that it just got implemented into UB loop lol. Maybe we have to wait til the game comes to console for people to do stuff with it? I assume people have limited time to experiment in arcades. That said, still wish I could see something different~ As it stands now, Relius looks more fun now that he got buffed and Amane is just too awesome for me to pass up (I refuse to say fabulous anymore, I don't want his English VA to have a lisp lol). -

So I've only seen literally a couple of Bullet vs Carl matches and she looks like she's gonna be a pain to deal with if you give her any breathing room. I just watched a match where the Carl kept waiting for her to jump in and she just sat there and used her heat up charge and then dove in. Rushdown + grappler is a combination that automatically spells doom for me lol. Any of you guys see Carl do anything novel since CP? He kinda looks exactly the same to me except that he uses Tenerezza for UB loop now. Not gonna lie, I'm getting kinda ho-hum about him at the moment. -
lol I feel the same way, I think it's because his play style seems kinda different compared to what I'm used to. Though I'm surprised he's as popular as he is (at least it feels like he's popular on DL?) Also, Bedsheets, have you had a chance to play against all of the currently released characters? Do you know if Amane has any special battle intros?

Yeah, that's true. It increases overall damage as well as chip damage.

Ok, I just read through the entire thread. I was gonna ask about the arcade paths but now that I see that they're all gone except Azrael's untranslated one, so I'll ask this: Do any text translations exist for them other than Ragna's? Or even better, is there an archive of the videos that I can download or unlisted versions on YT that haven't been taken down? Also, a request: If we get those translations and stuff, can we post them on the OP of this thread? I actually went through the thread and a lot of the beginning was uh...non-informative. If none of the above is possible, then I just want to know what happens in Amane's or Carl's arcade modes, if anyone can summarize that please :P

I think the guide thread is a good idea, this'll help anyone who comes in asking for some play tips. I noticed that we all play pretty differently so maybe this will help players forge their own path. Plus, we can update this thread with CP info when it becomes available (because I'm sure that I'll probably want some tips :D) "Ada Clover is by far the prettiest metallic gorilla i have ever laid my eyes on." LOOL, well said :P

He's built for chipping :P The hop is a command dash. From the first page: Zettou (214A/B and 236A/B)- Command IAD-like hop move. Distance differs with the input and can lead to some crossup situations. 236X hops forward while 214X hops backward. Can cancel into some normals/specials.

lol I doubt we'd get anything as grand as the one with Relius, but even if we get more special intro dialogue and it looks like they're interacting differently than they would with other characters, I'm happy. I think CP added a bunch of new stuff for everyone, so I hope someone makes a special battle intro compilation at one point. The versus themes are another thing I'm really happy for. I kind of want to see Carl mad at Litchi for joining the Library though, I feel like that would make a cool intro too (versus theme potential!? Probably not lol) -

From what I've been hearing, so far his story involvement isn't too great right now. Maybe in the console version, we'll see something. I think he'll probably have some kind of involvement with Amane since his story sees him seeking Carl out to join his troupe. If you want to know more about the story, I suggest asking in the story thread. I'd try to give you an answer or at least discussion but I haven't read through it yet lol. I'm thinking that he'll feel betrayed that Litchi joined the Library because she's basically Ada 2.0 to him. I kind of hope he stays neutral though. I liked that he was all about doing his own thing. -

It continues past the screen, so you just have to keep up with the drills for more damage. EDIT: I didn't get what you meant at first, I think air dashing is faster than running and I would suspect Tager's hitbox has something to do with it too. That said, I think you'd probably get the same results with other characters because of their comparatively lower HP. -
*raises hand* I wanted armorless Nu or at least for her to have that stupid mask off so she could show off her pretty eyepatch face. Ah well, at least her character portrait is cool. Also, if you're in one form and you get hit, you don't revert back to the original? Sorry, I don't know which is Nu and which is Lambda, so Nu=Dia and Lambda=Luna?

Well, it's only been like a week and I bit I think? Carl's complex enough to warrant the time to learn his optimal stuff~ That said, I'd read in the BBCP changes thread that the way combos work has been changed? I never really learnt how proration worked, so I can't really see the difference, but maybe that has something to do with the jA mashing? -

Ah ok, if you were playing pad, I could've helped you out a bit more I think. The dash will take some getting used to I guess, I tend to airdash a lot or use Vivace to get in when I see a chance. Good luck and keep to it! -
Thanks for the quick response! I'm kinda sad that they're bad zoning tools, I wonder how we're supposed to play this guy if he's not actually a zoner? From what I've seen, it's not like his damage is that go-- Mother of God... :O

I am by no means an expert, but here's what I did to become (semi) proficient with him: Get movement down; know the length of your normals and how fast they comeout. Practice IAD allecan, since you'll be using it a lot. Get used to positioning Ada and knowing when to summon her. Also get used to using Brio/Volante on reaction. Then, once all that is done, work on sandwiching your opponents. Don't worry about resets yet, just get in sandwich-->cantibile-->air combo-->some kind of oki like fuocco or something. Then try learning resets once you're comfortable. Are you playing stick or pad? I played pad up until literally 2 days ago, and now I'm learning stick, so I'm kind of relearning him. I've followed the same routine and I find it helps. Something that may or may not help you is a trial-by-fire approach if training mode is too boring for you (it is for me). I practice in training mode for like 30 minutes or until I can successfully pull off X move/combo with about a 30%~50% success rate. After that, I play my friends or CPU on Hell to see what I can do under pressure. I found it speeds up the process for me a lot. -
So I've been watching a lot of Amane videos but I'm slow on the pickup so I have a few questions if you don't mind me asking: Do Amane's scarf normals have a hitbox on the entire length of the scarf? It seems like only the end of the scarf hits. I know he doesn't have a DP, so in that case, what can he do to get out of pressure? It seems like he's done once he's in the corner. I believe I read that you can hold the move to make his drills spin longer? Can you move around while you do that? And if so, can you have more than one drill out at a time being charged like that? Last question, do the drills get charged the same amount on hit, vs on block/whiff? EDIT: just saw your post Shinsyn, thanks for preemptively answering some of my questions lol.

Might be the weaving between the two sides of the screen thing. I didn't see it before, but I see how it kinda does remind me of Valk. I'm really excited to try her now but I bet when I get the game, I'll drop her in a week. Sad reality. -

Honestly not sure how I feel about his new voice. At first I thought it was cool that he was showing some emotion, but lately it's been annoying. I think it's just one of his voice sets though, the one that says "Con Brio, Con Anima", etc. Also, do we have a palette list yet? -

I think I really like the new UI. I don't know how to phrase this exactly, but it looks more arcade-y than CS did. Elements are spaced well and meant to be noticeble. I'm not talking about the in-fight UI, I mean everything else. I have to admit though, I really miss CS's presentation for its character select and CT main menu, even if its items were huge for no reason. To me, what stood out the most were the new stages. They seem to be a bit more elaborate in design compared to CT/CS. I'm really excited for when we'll get a chance to play this. Music was ok too, but I can't tell til we get high quality rips. SFX only bothered me for like 2 min lol. -

I hate how susceptible I am to palette colours...I almost want to play her now that she has a Nu palette. Is palette #10 EVA Unit 0? Weird that she got it since Mu already has it and it fits better (imo). -

I love the story too. I'm not actually like, worried, I meant I think that Nu and Mu (along with Izayoi probably) will probably be really unbalanced lol. Like I said though, I don't care since I'm sure it'll be fine once it hits console. I get that if they only decided on adding those characters in midway through development, but if they knew from the start then I don't really understand the reasoning besides story and changing the status quo of the game (which I think is a good enough reason all things considered).
