I use a pad (Dualshock 3). Sticks are too expensive and I cba to learn it, though the one time I did borrow a stick I could still pull off the majority of my Tsubaki combos straight away~ Will do :3 Also I need to play you more in general instead of the what, once? in CS2.

@Gamester Do you play on PSN at all? I plan to pick up Rachel as my sub and it could be cool to play a few games sometime so we can both improve our Rachels or for the Tsubaki/Rachel matchup exp. So I'm kiiind of interested in picking up Rachel as a sub after managing to do about 2/3 of her challenges last night. I'm going to go through the various threads later, but before I start attempting to learn her, is there any really important or useful advice/information anyone can share that'd help?

Yeah that's kind of what I'm counting on. I know I'm pretty bad at this game but this matchup seems ridiculously one-sided to me. I know in CS2 that Nacht Jager was punishable on block, but now it's +0 so that isn't an easy punish option against weaker players anymore and I haven't been able to stop them from just using 6C all day to take primers because it's +2 on block and has ridiculous range.

Okay so I've had the rather frustrating experience of only encountering Valks tonight. I have no idea how to approach this matchup. Valk has silly damage, silly range, silly pressure, silly mixup, silly safe-ness. What can we actually do to Valk?

You at least know the normals and some basic stuff of them though, from what I saw? I literally only know that for like, 4 characters. Err, make that 3 with some of the changes in Extend. How tight is the gap between 5C > 6C and 5CC > 6B? Big enough to DP out but small enough to get CH if they use a normal? You're just broken like that :p

I'd be willing to test the connection out sometime, but yeah, it doesn't seem promising.

Thanks a lot Kiba. I know I have some fundamental problems with my play right now - I let people get in too easily and then can't get them off me at all. I'm also really starting to think my reaction speed is absolutely awful. Rewatching it, I saw tons of times where I was getting couter hit because I attempted to anti-air or dash in a poke but my button got beat every single time, which just has the effect of me being scared to ever press buttons. I also wanna say I look a lot worse when I go up against Daedron or anyone who's clearly above me right now, but eh. Like, I don't have problems beating people who are weaker than me and are trying to play smart but I have great difficulty consistently beating people who are obviously mashing =/. And then there's people like you guys who are all way better than me and I just end up looking like a complete scrub :p I don't think I charge cancelled much pressure in that session, but I've definitely started doing it more often in EX than I did in CS2 now. I remember I kept getting 2A CH'd after I charge cancelled and then attempted to continue pressure in a previous session though. I think, against much better players than I, I try to not look terrible and end up thinking too much, because I know there were several moments where I missed the window for cancelling my gatling (like a couple times where my 2BB was blocked and I did nothing after it). I'm also definitely getting pressured and just falling back on CS2 combos or other bad habits and not being ready to confirm better combos when I do actually land a hit. Regarding 3CC, yeah, I agree, I'm definitely using it way too much. I know a couple of times I accidentally got it instead of 2CC but even aside from that. I'm hoping that part of it is just because it's a new toy (since it was near useless in CS2) and I'll stop using it quite as recklessly. Jump cancellable normals. Yes. Definitely need to start doing that because I don't think I've ever really used any jump-cancel pressure. And I need to fix that. Match-up knowledge is definitely something I need to work on. I'm aiming to just sit and play a lot more games against a lot more people than I did in CS2 so that should help in the long run. Playing against someone who know a little of every character also helps (Dae literally played every character at least once against me a couple days ago :p) One of the biggest problems that I've noticed recently is that I'm free to people who can jump. During those matches, Dae made Tsubaki's j.C look like a ridiculously good move, and I kept either attempting to 2C way too early or way too late. I really need to start getting used to using EX combos in real matches. I'm using them fine in training mode and confirming them often against CPU but I keep falling back on CS2 combos or just not getting the most out of my confirms when I do hit (the 2B 5CC confirm in the 1st match that you pointed out, for example). I'm gonna start working on blockstrings and combos off of less than ideal starters too. I definitely need to work on hitconfirming CH and FC combos and work on hitconfirming off hitting with a 2B, 2C, 6B, etc. I end up practicing mostly combos that start with 5A, 5B or 5C or something so I need to branch out desperately, especially since I'm never going to get a clean 5A or 5C hit confirm on someone like Dae. For reference, my current EX BnBs that I've been practicing are: 5A > 5CC > 22C > 6CC > 236C > 5C > 2C > 236C > 214B > 22B 5A > 5CC > 623C > j.214B(w) > j.C > j.C > j.236D > j.214B > 2B > 2CC > 236C > 214C > 22B 5A > 5CC > 623C > j.214B(w) > j.C > j.C > j.214D > 6CC > 236C > 5C > 2C > 236C > 214B > 22B 22D > 3CC > RC > 6CC > 623C > j.236A(w) > j.214D > 5C(w)C > 2CC > 22C > 5C > 2C > 236C > 214B > 22B 3CC > RC > 2CC > IAD > j.CC > 5C > 2C into whatever depending on distance from corner and also 5A > 5CC > 214214D > 623D > j.236D > j.214D > 2CC > IAD > j.CC > 5C > 2C > 236C > 214B > 22B though I haven't landed that in a match yet. Still not looking for it enough I guess, or when I do try to look for it I can't get a clean 5CC hit in, so > refer to practicing combos with non-common starters. Anyway, thanks again for the advice. I really do want to get better and improve so I can actually compete with you guys, but right now I feel like I'm playing much worse than I ever did in CS2 and it's really quite frustrating and depressing, though I'm hoping part of is just me needing to complete the transition to EX.
