Star-Demon replied to St1ckBuG's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
When I talk to a lot of people I want to get into the game hey really do not like having to keep current with versions. I have one player who bought CS2 early this semester and was starting to learn on his own for the first time playing lambda then try to play vs my Extend Litchi when I would bring my PS3 to campus. For those of us who are big fans or committed players of this game this isn't as big of a problem, but for people that are just getting into it - it really is a pain when entry costs are so high for a game you really are just trying. -

cool - while I'm here - anyone who's played me a lot (Moy?) can take time for me and go through matches we've played and take apart what you think I was thinking and and what I wanted and basically call me out on everything I was thinking and trying to do? I think it'd be interesting. Match examples would be helpful, too since I forget sometimes. PM me about it.

Running and streaming another open BB room tonight. You want Netplay streams, you got it. I expect more than 10 viewers.

[CP] Litchi Faye Ling - Gameplay Discussion (Read first post!)
Star-Demon replied to Lord Knight's topic in Archive
4D's a mixed bag. Some people you can just do it to - even if they are good - but more than likely they are used to it and understand it's a risky move with good reward. It comes down to habits and anti-habits and your opponent's habit-counters. You're playing the player. What you can do is just spot situations where 4D will body them, and learn who you cannot use it on like that. -
GGs to people in my room - It was fun calling your matches. Have some SPACE TRAVEL:

Until I go to sleep- late. room is live

Room and stream going up at about 6 - running until I feel like it. Hope you guys turn out since you want netplay to get hype.
-
No - no matches until rescue/training arc is over. Room will be plenty big for people.

I disagree - You are oversimplifying this issue. As for BBVlog - I think they died? As for hating the game on commentary - this is mostly because of "Old Men". I understand how they could feel "tired". The person that usually puts it best is DacidBro, since he has a very positive attitude but still is tired of BlazBlue. I'd also add that commentating matches is a real mixed bag of skills. Some are social, some are theatrical, some are academic. People place value in different ways into these. We like Dacid, we like James Xie, but we also sometimes like SpiritJuice and sometimes Hellpockets. For example: I'll be proud when I get to sit at the stream setup at Next Level. A community channel for uploads is a good idea - give password to several people - it's a common practice.
-
Tonight I'm hosting a 6(5) man room for a long time. I am still enforcing my own self-ban from FG (training arc) but I am not banned from commentating. Get salty.

:Just some personal thoughts on entering a online ranbat - maybe you can relate, maybe not: I was out of fucking control when I played comp in Tribes and Battlefield. I never want to revisit that. As bad as you guys think I am right now, I consider myself mostly on balance these days compared to Counter Strike, Tribes, and Battlefield. Entering and maintaining a weekly competitive schedule will probably be the worst thing I could do for myself and others. Granted, I'm on a training/rescue arc right now, but whatever I feel about playing competitively online at the end of this arc - I 100% do not want to revisit my comp days. If you are concerned for what people think of netplay and competition - keep in mind it *does* bring out the absolute worst in people whether they want it to or not.

You can't spell DONATE without NOT EAD.

I don't know what this thread is supposed to accomplish... If you want more people to netplay you have to have a lot of people want to play A LOT. Good luck - I have no answers to that one. I've used vent for 10 years. I think a vent channel would be nice. I would use a DL vent. I think vent is a great way to forge stronger communities, and it works.

Today's Gem: "It's easy - Just do the right moves" Cancel Dash Tatami - it's easy - just do the right move! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VchQKqqXdgQ PS: Still can't do a BnB. That's 3% success and it's not even correct. What are the right moves? How do I do them?
