  1. Is it known that hitting 4B on a grounded opponent doesn't pop them up anymore? You can do 4b 3c 8d 6a 236a dash 3c 214c 5cc now since 4b > 3c works now.
  2. I'm pretty sure Rachel can also 5a Astral. No one ever does it because they're afraid of dropping the combo though.
  3. Thank you for correcting my translation. I'm kind of new to translating stuff and I have never translated something to English before, so I really appreciate someone double checking and correcting any mistakes. I'll be more careful when I translate next time.
  4. I cant translate the whole article because that's a lot of work and Ihave got some stuff to do. Perhaps someone who is interested in the Celica, Lambda and Hazama can translate the first part if htere's anything useful. I have translated the last part of the interview though. The first part isn't very interesting, he just thanks everybody for playing even though it's extremely hot in Japan blablahblah, then explains why he wanted to add Celica etc etc. The answers on the following questions may be bit more interesting though.   6. Tried translating N-Otoko's tweets. However, I would really like someone to check and correct these if needed. It's not that I'm not confident in my Japanese abilities, but I'm new to translating Blazblue stuff so please have mercy if there are some mistakes. 6A feels like it has a bit more lag (N-Otoko thinks it's like two frames more.). 6A 236a feels a bit weird. 6A 236a seems harder to do (but still possible). N-O is not sure whether it's the 6a or 236a. Lobelia C distance changed. Seems to land way at the end. 5C's start up seems to have improved. You can do 5CC immediately after 4B. 4b 5cc does 1500 damage. 3C doesnt have SMP. Something nerfed about about the knockdown of 3c. Edit: 3C leaves them closer so they can roll out of the corner. ... 5cc pumpkin 3c frog doesn't seem to work effectively because of 3c nerf. 3c 9d 5b 6a 236a seems to be much harder. 5b 6a 236a 6a 4c 3c works. It seems you can add a 5b before 6a 4b since the opponent floats very low after 4b. From j.a overhead 6a 4b works. (Literal translation. I'm not sure if he means j.a j.b 5b 5cc 6a 4b but I do think so. Someone check please.) Probably no change to cat chair but he's not 100% sure. Fatal 5C Frog 2C doesn't work. Both 5b j.c 236a 3d and 5b 6a 236b 2d combo routes are out. 5a 6a on aerial opponent doesn't seem to work. From an N-starter, 2b 5b j.bd j.c 5b 5cc 4b 6a 236a 3c 214c 6a 4b works but it's a bit weak.

  9. Litchi changes made me cry at first. Her 6A overhead being only special cancelable, Tsubame damage nerfed, Itsuu A has more recovery, staff not recovering on hit.... But then I remembered we're talking about Litchi which means she'll be fine anyway. Besides, it can still get much worse than this... I thought you were joking all the time but you're actually serious. Dude, Carl is one of the best characters, he's definitely going to be nerfed and the little asshole and his cross-dressing puppet deserve it.
  10. This is correct. In the interview, they gave the example of Ragna doing 2a 6b. After blocking Ragna's 2a, you can guard cancel overdrive and interrupt it.
  11. Does it actually connect ever? I rarely see N-O do the 3c route against Hakumen, he usually does 6B jb jc 2d 6a 4a 5cc.Other Rachels usually either do the same, and if they don't they drop the combo. I even skip it and only do 6a 4c 5cc in fear of dropping the combo... Ugh I hate Hakumen and Bang >_>
  12. I'm currently in Nagasaki, living about a 15-min walk from the nearest arcade and there's also one near the university, so if anyone would like something to tested just let me know. Not that there is much I can let you know though since some of you seem to know more than I do :P. Lotus really feels improved though, it's much easier and more reliable to hit with with. (yay)

I didnt read N-O's tweets all too well (there's a lot of them) but I think he's worrying about about this system change: It's something that caught my eye as well, since it would seriously suck if this messed with her overheads. I think so too. The Japanese notes don't say anything about 'only' or 'reduced', they only mentioned we can use it four times now. I cant really comprehend what they are trying to say with this change, but your suggestion makes perfect sense. If its true, this would be a pretty nice change. I'm curious to what they have done with Lotus though, since it was pretty slow to begin with... they must have done something big to compensate for it.
  14. I'm a stick player and I have been facing this problem for a long time. Every time I'm barrier blocking, be it in the air or on the ground, I block using A+B+C and holding back. Before I get to break a throw, I already get a throw reject miss because I am holding A+B+C, and apparently the game registers the B+C as a throw, even though I'm also holding A at the same time. This means that I always get a throw reject miss which results in always getting thrown since I don't even get the opportunity to break the throw. What can I do against this? ;_;
  15. Does anybody have any tips on her mid-screen jc2d 236a 3c 214c (etc.) bnb? Her full mid-screen combos are so hard and I just suck at them And how do her corner combos were vs Bang? I cant do 236a -> 6a against him.

  17. Soooo I just returned from Japan where I hit up some aracades to play Blazblue and use my Rachel and Litchi. :D The game is great, I love it! Rachel is really solid too. Her overhead is easier to do now that it hits everybody. j.a j.b 5b 5cc hits much better. I'm not sure if it's easier to do the microdash but I'm pretty sure the hitbox of 5cc has been changed in such a way to make it easier to do 5b 5cc after an j.a overhead. I suck at her combos though. I'm not a execution monster at all, I actually drop them a lot, but even in training mode her combo's are tough... Following up after 236a is so difficult . I in the corner I could follow up 236a with 5b but that's about it... even 236a 6a was hard. And don't get me started on her mid-screen combos... Mid-screen I usually just did 6a 4b 3c pumpkin or something because I just sucked at everything else. You really have to take your time when learning Rachel's new combos (but it didn't take very long for me to learn Litchi's) and I didn't have enough time sadly. In Extend I'm a frog oki lover, using it whenever I can, so I thought the frog nerf would have beaten Rachel hard, but it isn't nearly as bad as I though. It's not much of a noticeable nerf actually, there are still plenty of times where you can use frog. I did miss the lobelia counter combos though, but it just took some time to get used to it. Her wind regeneration is a bit different... In Extend wind generations consists of two phases: in the first phse her wind generates really slowly and in the second phase, it suddenly recovers really quickly. In Chrono Phantasma, the recovery speed of her wind in the first phase has seen a speed up. It takes about 2.5-3 seconds to gain a wind bar back (same speed as CT?). After you have regained two wind bars, the second phase starts. Basically, this means that her first phase wind recovery has improved because it's much faster, but to balance it out, it takes much longer to get into the second phase of wind recovery. I personally felt pretty comfortable with her new wind recovery. Combined with her new combos, where she's grounded more often when combo'ing and which takes less wind than they do in Extend, I could usually possess at least one bar of wind. I love B lotus, it's a very useful zoning tool and the hitbox is pretty decent too. I don't know much about A lotus though. Her old 6B jump cancel is great too . Other than this, I don't have much more interesting stuff to say. Keep in mind that my skills are at best at a middle level, and I'm usually forced to play offline because there's no scene here. I could stand my own against most 6/7th dan players. Higher than that they would usually beat me. That said, I love arcades. It's no wonder the Japanese are so good at fighting games. Besides the fact that they get the games earleir than we do, playing in an arcade is so much better than playing on a console. First of all, you're sitting in front of a huge screen, which in itself is a huge help. You keep getting to play solid players offline (without any lag yay) and there's just something about the atmosphere that makes you want to win more and battle harder. Definitely an interesting experience, I had a lot of fun :D

  24. So basically her Astral Finish can be combo'd into by using 5b 6b 3c 6d 5b 5c/ 5b 5cd 5b j.c 2d dj j.c (on airborne opponents) Throw I wouldnt be surprised if 4b Astral would connect as well... Her Astral is looking really good.
