Your first three questions can be answered with: they took away Nu's 4B. Her pressure and momentum (I guess) were increased because they took away her ability to consistently open people up. They also gave her more options because they took away 4B and various parser moves (Luna 236D as well). The reason why gravity seed is ridiculously good is because they took away Phase Lift (22A). They wanted some semblance of that gameplay to remain with Nu, but much easier to do. There is no reason I can think of as to why Nu's damage is so consistently good. In previous games her damage was medium-to-high but she couldn't get it all the time (CT being the exception). Somehow all these changes lined up to Nu being really good, heavily disliked (nothing new here actually), and painful to play against. The good news is Nu is fairly easy to nerf, unlike consistent top-tiers who have very good game mechanics. We'll just have to bow to our Nu overloads for one patch.
-
Is Nu the primary cause of this? Or is it a combination of things? I have seen a lot of hate for Nu in this version update and it's pretty justified. I'll still use her, of course, since she's the only character I've ever used in BB, I just liked to think I won with her because I was good with her. But it seems I can get away with only using 5D/4D and win a good portion of my games. Some argue that she's better than CT Nu or really close. The difference being that in this version of the game, Nu has counters. Hazama didn't exist in CT and her current counters didn't have enough tools at the time. Kokonoe was a counter once, but all the nerfs to her probably flipped the match up.

One of the key strengths to being good with Nu or Lambda is utlitizing her superior mobility. It's easier said than done however.
-
Same speed as Nu and Mu. Lambda is one of the faster characters in the game.
-
At this point she might just be considered a worse Nu. Lambda was supposed to be lockdown, but Nu does that as well and better. Lambda has oki and mix-up and her crescent saber can cross-up. So I guess a mix of zoning and mix-up/oki.
-
So basically auto-pilot Ragnas (and characters in general) will suffer and the other ones will be fine.
-
Still a lot easier than needing a 22A multiple times in combos. Lambda had a lot of untech time on her combos so they were easy to do. The TK loop combos were tricky though and so was doing 4B(2) since the spacing was tough to get down. The TK loop combos only lasted for one patch though. Lambda also didn't have near infinite gravity field like Nu did in CT, or the crazy recovery and damage of her drives, so I can understand the new learning curve. I still think all the versions before BBCP were easy. Personal opinion of course, someone else may think differently.
-
Before BBCP, Nu/Lambda wasn't heavy on execution. So thematically, BBCP would be the odd one out in that regard. So I guess they're returning to what old Nu/Lambda players expect.

The only projectile lv3 I knew of was Platinum's AH back in Extend. Seems they changed it now though.

Oh man that's pretty crazy. When I was watching those videos of Naga vs N-O I thought maybe it should be possible to escape. But I never actually considered 4DD > gravity > 4DD (or maybe I glossed over it when I binge watch Nu videos) since 4D has always been this slow overhead. If someone as good as N-O couldn't get out of it, safe to say, it's tough as nails to escape. By well spaced do you mean the opponent has their back against the wall?
-
I had a feeling Nu's 4D was faster. Does that mean the block stun for 5DD has changed? I mean, if it still had 23F of blockstun... what do?!

Q&A about Joystick Building, Parts, and Purchasing
AchedSphinx replied to mr.mortified's topic in Hardware
I have a Street Fighter 4 Tournament Edition Fightstick. It's lasted me for almost 4 years now, but the diagonal input seems totally borked, is there any way to fix this? An example as to how it was borked happened in a few matches I played today. I was holding down back as Mitsuru and sometimes she would randomly stand up and I couldn't force her crouching for several seconds. A few times, because down back selectively turns on or off, she would do random AoA when I want her to do sweep. Any hope or should I just prepare to buy a new one? -
GGs all. Looks like I won't be playing P4U2 for awhile. My arcade stick just lost the ability to down back (1 or 3). It had a good run. It almost made it to the 4 year mark. Also, I played about 20-30 games thinking my down back would return. Funny how effective not blocking can be.

[P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Gameplay Discussion
AchedSphinx replied to LegendaryRath's topic in Mitsuru Kirijo
Not terrible. If it will win you the game, do it. Plus SB droit > OMC > 5A is good for catching mashers since SB droit is negative on block. So you can use it to continue pressure if you have the meter to do so. If the opponent is crouching when you hit with SB droit (preferably droit A) you can do a much better combo depending on the distance. SB droit > 5AA > 5B > sweep > droit B. If they're in the corner you would want to do droit A > 5AA > 5B > sweep > SB droit > 2 > bufula D > 5 > sweep > droit B. SB droit has a crazy high SMP, so you can't do two SB droits in one combo. The correct distance to connect a crouching hit confirm droit A or SB droit is if only the tip of Mitsuru's rapier hits. If it does, she can do droit A/SB > 5AA. Since Mitsuru can't really control droit A, it's a bit situational. SB droit is doable, but with the SMP on it, she can't get crazy damage off the combo. Possible if you do something like SB droit > 5AA > 5B > sweep > droit B > OMC > 6 > 2 > bufula C > 4 > droit B. -

corner 5AA > 5B > sweep > droit SB > 2 > bufula D > AoA~D > droit B corner 5AA > 5B > sweep > droit SB > 2 > bufula D > 5 > sweep > droit B SB droit > OMC > auto combo Also, consider checking the combo thread, most of Mitsuru's viable combos are there. -
GGs all. I can't believe I got double perfected on. I was even denied my salty runback. Today was a bad day.

So she gets chip damage from spamming 5DD > 4DD over and over again and she can reset pressure safely with gravity and get good damage from fullscreen away. Is there any reason not to spam 5DD > 4DD? That Rachel didn't do much to punish it. Plus, there was a game where Nu used up 100 meter in RCs to get enough meter back to do another RC. This is kinda like CT Nu without all the crazy. Nu's RC combos also seem reminiscent of CT Nu because she just does 5DD after 236D RC and gets pretty good damage. One thing I noticed after watching those matches is that Naga very rarely did any corner combos. He basically did the midscreen stuff if they were in the corner, you know, 5DD > 4DD. So either corner combos aren't worth it in a risk vs reward sort of way or he doesn't know many corner combos. The latter seems possible because against that Jin player he had two attempts at a corner combo and botched both.
-
The most honest character is Bang because he tells you everything he's doing as he's doing it.
-
The ironic part being that Anne trying to prevent the derailing caused the thread to derail further. At least we were talking about gameplay, now we got all this talk that isn't even related to gameplay.
-
I did kind of like doing CT in combos. Perhaps it's viable in the corner only. But seeing as how she can do good damage effectively without it, she's better off saving it. We need those counter assaults after all and Calamity Sword is still a solid ender for winning rounds.
-
GGs. You totally panicked when I got that Tentarafoo off. Well, a lot of people do. It's pretty rare for me to actually land it.
-
It's been awhile since I've received hatemail for my Nu. It's also very strange if she does happen to be A-tier. I'm not sure if there will be an influx of Nu characters though. She's not easy to play in a mechanical sense. Combos are easy though. I'm not sure about you but I hate mirror match ups.
-
They gave her an extra drive on the ground, plus she can go backwards with them such as 5DD > 4DD > 5DD. Her gravity is almost always off cooldown and it recovers really fast. So she can reset her pressure easier. Her damage is also good despite losing Luna form. I'd say her damage is better than Lambda's at this point. All of this essentially bolstered her zoning. She's really flexible now, in my opinion. She still suffers on the defensive end. But there won't be many characters that can beat her in neutral.
-
Kind of strange when you consider she shares A tier with most of her bad match ups. Makes me wonder how much things have changed in 2.0. Nu does look good though.
-
Oh yeah, you could do that. Exception being the gravity is on cool down for quite awhile. Also, I haven't seen any of 2.0 Nu's use Crush Trigger. I'm wondering if it's worth using anymore.
