Anyone know the song for the Johnny CM "JOINT"?
-
You guys NEED to see this. Lots of really interesting new Johnny stuff in here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2169943 I know you need an account. Good luck. Unless someone has a d/l link, then we're stuck with it.

Johnny CM "~D~" http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2169943 Holy shit.
-
Holy shit, r u srs? I've been holding the button every time. You're not worried about accidentally letting the MF go before you hit H?
-
Japanese players (of whom BLEED is one) almost exclusively use stick. They have arcades all over the country with GGXXAC cabinets. Johnny's FD dashing is very easy with a stick, and ridiculously hard on a pad.

Gotta post this before I forget it exists. vs Eddie Mid-Screen: throw > dash/jump cancel > j.p > j.k > j.s > jump > j.s > j.h > KJ FRC > j.d > delay 1-hit hotness. vs Potemkin Mid-Screen: throw > normal jump forward > j.p > j.k > jump > j.p > j.k > j.p > KJ FRC > j.d > 1-hit Really tough timing, and only 60 dmg. This combo is totally not useful. =/
-
Jam, anywhere Safe Mist: super-safe zomg throw, j.K > j.S > dj > j.S > j.HS > KJ FRC > j.D > Ensenga BV has the right idea, though. Let's concentrate on one type of 1-hit, then once that sub-category is finished, let's move onto another. I vote we start with throw 1-hits. Starting with corner, no tension. Then go to 25% tension corner throw 1-hits, then to 50% tension. Then we can do stuff like dash-jump 1-hits, then throw-coin 1-hits, etc. etc.

I find that it's just better in general to let Baiken come to you. Coins, 6P, upper MF, and jumps with rising j.P or j.K are all good for zoning her. Also, as long as you're not in block stun, one of the best ways to avoid her chain is to just jump.
-
Now that I think about it, you are totally right, sir.
-
Basically, if you're unsure whether or not you can beat out her IAD j.S with an upper MF or a 6P, then just block. (edited to remove retardedness )
-
Zewo, try throwing a coin instead of MCing the hard-slash. If he does the get-out-of-jail-free-card GC then he's screwed. Counter-hit coin into huge damage. Once he gets used to that, start throwing two coins instead of just one. Once you've got him scared to do that particular GC, you can start MCing again.

I find 6K useful against LVL3 missiles, mostly. Good Robo-Ky players won't usually spam non-LVL3 missiles at close-range. Watch out for falling j.S, though - once Robo-Ky players know you'll come after them with a 6K, they'll slam you with it. Also, Johnny's (amazing) sky-high jump really helps avoid the missiles when they break apart and come after you. They can sometimes be avoid with a simple double-jump forward.

Please don't incite hostility by starting your posts with "Sigh...", thereby making your post sound condescending and disrespectful. After I gave you a perfectly good explanation (twice), you ignored any notion that what I said was at all valid. The fact that you're Korean or speak Korean has nothing to do with it. Thanks, POScrub, for the useful link. I had no idea that was there.
-
Nothing to do with Japanese? It's a Japanese game. Thousands of Japanese people play it and talk about it. You are right in that "baccus sigh" has "kasu" in it, but they don't ever call it バッカスサイ ("bakkasu sai"). They call it 霧 (キリ, "kiri") because it's way the hell easier to say. I can't read Korean, and I'm guessing you can't read Japanese, but here's "my backup": Translation: If you're able to get the 1-hit when you have lvl 2, and then put the mist on them, then it puts you at a huge advantage, but if you've only got lvl 1, it's not something you really need to go for too much. Nobody seems to have corrected THIS guy either. Does that mean they're both wrong?
-
The verb "kasuru" in Japanese means to graze. The term kasu-hitto, which is shitty romanization for かすりヒット or "grazing hit", is where the "kasu" comes from. Nice try, tho.
-
Linguistically, "enkasu" comes from combining the beginning of "Ensenga" and "kasu"-hit, the latter of which refers to hitting with just the first hit of Ensenga. I'm pretty sure "enkasu" just means one-hit ensenga. The word they use to refer to the mist is "kiri". Having the mist on the opponent and locking them down so they get owned is called "kiri-hame".

That's awesome, Bakugami. Thanks! Koogy, maybe update your first post to include this stuff?

I regret posting the English comment. I'm not sorry, but I should have just kept my mouth shut. It was a simple misinterpretation, and things are going in circles. Could you guys please get back the fux on topic? Towards that end... I wanted to add a little to the "difficulty of combos being factored into tier placings" discussion by reiterating that I think it's mostly not the case, with the exception of crap that's retardedly difficult to pull off. I was talking with a good friend that was talking about how Baiken has a really strong combo that gives her a huge advantage, but it's too hard to pull off consistently for the Japanese. (Please don't give me the "How would he know?! He doesn't know." BS, k thx) Since these tier lists and character grades are based on popular opinion and lots and lots of arcade play in Japan, I think it's valid to say that some combos/setups may be too difficult to consider (though I don't see the point). Is May's dolphin loop too difficult? No. Also, the play style point is a good one, I think. If I were using Sol, I'd much rather use 50% tension for a VV RC frame trap or mixup or whatever (ie, something more likely to open up damage directly) over Dragon Install, which just makes the damage better when you finally DO land a hit. The flipside is that DI puts the opponent in a different mindset. Which is better is debatable, and opinions will differ based on play style, experience (both first-hand and from match vids). To ARGUE about which is better isn't the point of this thread, though. While everyone seems to be trying to answer the "who's the best (and how much worse is my own character)" question, people should be considering certain characters' strengths and weaknesses to try to up their game with their own character. ...but I suppose that's not how Dust Loop works.

Reading skill is also a part of knowing English. Spirit Juice's grammar is fine. Sounds to me like you have some studying to do.

POScrub's translations are excellent, and doubtlessly take a non-trivial amount of his personal time. Please stop complaining that "(insert character) isn't done yet!". Thanks for the hard work, POScrub! :D

There's an easier way to do that, JOFan. Example: 5H > 236K (HOLD) > H (HOLD) > 664646 That way all you're holding is K + H, instead of P + K + HS.

It doesn't matter WHAT it is, it's awesome, and potentially very useful. I can see it being a good option against Venom's Dark Angel, Jam and Chipp's rush-up-and-hit-you-a-bunch supers, and potentially others. ...and actually, that's totally a buffer. Why is that not a buffer?
