  1. The timing is tricky on it. You have to delay the j.C a little bit, and sometimes the j.B before that too, depending on the character. At least, in my experience anyway. If you want to practice it, start on Tager. It's easiest to do on him. I've found it kinda hard to do on Jin, Litchi, and Taokaka.
  2. Should mention that the Jin player besides Buppa is actually "nise-Pachi" or "fake Pachi". He's a different player from the Pachi who uses Faust in GG. Also, if the recent batch of nico vids (http://www.nicovideo.jp/mylist/9644314) is any evidence, "Ren" seems to be a pretty solid Jin player, tho not quite as intimidating as nisepachi or Buppa IMO.
  3. Sorry, he plays nothing like Ky. The ice and the lighting just both happen to be blue, and Ky and Jin both happen to be blonde. And I guess they also happen to wear uniforms that are fairly similar in design if not in color. ... But no, they don't play alike.
  4. The only time he sounds gay is before and after he fights Ragna. That's it. Everywhere else he sounds extremely pissed off and awesome.
  5. What are you talking about? It's perfectly understandable. If you don't understand something, make it clear what you don't understand and we will help. That said, thanks for posting those up umgogo!! Man, I need to subscribe to arcadia...
  6. I see 5B 6A instead of 5B D uppercut in vids a lot, but I can only get it to work 30% of the time. Is it character specific? or does the spacing have to be just right?
  7. Anyone know what the conditions are for air-throwing someone after the arrow super? Sometimes I can air-throw them and sometimes I can't. wtf Re: mook - shit. I need to get it for myself. Can't justify paying $30 tho for a book that costs like $15 in Japan. Screw that.
  8. If they neutral tech the 5C's gonna whiff. Not sure how you propose canceling into 5D from a whiffed 5C. Pozerwolf - I'd be happy to help w/ the trans. Are there links to the articles and/or mook pages? I haven't even seen them.
  9. Sick, I'll try that out. It's a little slow to recover, though - you don't get punished for it when people neutral tech? And thanks for the ideas kid viper - I'll give those a shot.
  10. Can we edit the first post and wiki so Fubuki isn't described as a mist finer? I think it's a little misleading. What have people been using for tech traps? (Am I even using the right term? haha) After knockdown, I'll often put out a 5B to snag opponents who are recovering late (neutral) or forward (towards me), and just started using 2C last night to catch forward techs. Was thinking 5D might be good to catch forward and back techs, but it feels a little unsafe.
  11. So 6C>66 is safe on block by 1 frame? Jin's DPs are throw-invincible, right? What's the startup on jumps?
  12. http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/960/960010/blazblue-20090306102236536_640w.jpg Hakumen is a perv.
  13. Oh yeah, 3C, haha. You're totally right. I'll edit the post. I am obsessed with connecting 6C whenever I can. That move looks so rad. Thanks for checking the FD/IB question. I think it's a really good anti-air move when placed right.
  14. 6C > dash on block will get you thrown, or worse if they are IBing anything you do before that. If they block your shit, you shouldn't be chaining into 6C ever. I can't really see a reason to ever do 6C unless you're 100% sure it'll connect. Also, fun (?) combo that does piss-poor damage: 3C (link) 2B > 5C > 6C > dash cancel > air combo OH! Can anyone confirm that you need to FD Jin's 6C when in the air?
  15. Personally, I find this: 5B, 5C, 2C, Hell's Fang, RC, dash slightly, 6D, j.D, land, 5B, 6A, JC or HJC, j.C, j.D, JC, j.C, j.D, D Inferno Divider -> followups. way easier to read than this: 5BC2C, 214A, RC, d.6DjD, d.5B6A, jCD, djCD, 623D236C214C I think it makes more sense to have combos written out the longer way (which seriously, doesn't take up THAT much time) than have to wince at 623D236C214C to figure out that it's inferno divider with the C followups. This is getting off-topic though. Maybe there should be a thread on official notation? Even a sticky, perhaps!
  16. I was messing around with this last night. If you double-jump at all in the combo before ID>uppercut>heel knockdown then you won't have any jump options left. Also pretty sure you can't do another attack, though I would need to double-check that.
  17. For moves with followups, Ragna must connect (block or hit) with the initial move to do the followup. This goes for Gauntlet Hades, Hell's Fang, and all followups to Inferno Divider. Hell's Fang followup is definitely NOT safe on block. Hell's Fang itself is either safe on block or DAMN NEAR it. CH Hell's Fang has TONS of hitstun, so you have plenty of time to go into whatever you want.
  18. Sorry if this was covered already. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPQamr1pO_U @ 00:34/35 he does the life-stealing followup, but goes straight into a crouching kick (b?)... How did he do that? dash-cancel out of the followup? edit: nvm - he RC'd. They're so hard to actually see now.
  19. air throw worked rather well at the end of this combo
  20. It doesn't change anything about the speed at which Johnny falls, but depending on how soon you put out j.H it'll either hit or whiff. Using that to mix up your opponent on whether they should block high or low on wake up is the point.
  21. It doesn't look like they're up on youtube. Best I can give you is a nico video link: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm5231772 You'll need a user/pass to watch, but it's free and pretty easy to do. To watch the subsequent matches, you can click on the blue links above the vids that all look like this: "sm2303956" or whatever number. Here's the post from the Guilty Pleasures forum: http://dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=320231&postcount=580
  22. Yeah, it took my a little while to realize TMN was his super. I never refer to it by name and since it's his only overdrive, I never have to. But for a while I was like... "TMN... Teenage Mutant Ninja... ???" haha btw, I don't know if anyone's been watching, but I have new-found respect for Satoo's Johnny. He was pretty sick in the latest batch of vids.
  23. I tend to only combo into it when my opponent is really close to death, and/or when I want to keep them from bursting. If you're pretty sure you can kill them with a super, then I think you have ever reason to combo into it. They can't burst out of that shit. If you watch a bunch of Omito vids (couldn't tell you which ones) you'll see him do this occasionally. Anyway, that's my opinion on it...
  24. I don't have the song, but it's by a Japanese band called "surface".
