yeah i was able to bait it out a few times during curse, but what really killed me was getting hit by the bat a few times into the corner in neutral game when i just thought he wouldn't use it. i basically never got the chance to even throw out overheads or do extended pressure because he always had it.

:D thanks! pretty pleased with my play...got hit by too many platinum bats, coulda utilized bug pressure during curse better, but oh well. got my j.b iad j.b to work a few times lol, other times not (huey was definitely getting salty in casuals later about ioh j.b combo'ing into the second j.b for full curse in the corner). i'll watch the matches again when my wallet isn't starving for that 1st place paycheck

Only switched to Rachel against the tager cuz I lost to him with arakune in pools. Rachel v tager too easy lol, even when I can't do combos with her anymore. but yeah, that match put me in top 8. Sorry, i won't be playing the princess for these matches though

it's very difficult, but after daily practice for like a month, I'm getting it relatively consistently. In all honesty, yes it's useful, but there are a lot of other things that are more useful to work on when u're learning arakune. Ver doesn't even use it and he's like 770 psr in jp.

just checked, both misinformation lol, it's 23 frames oops. but yeah, it's pretty slow, so you should be blocking it on reaction, but i totally understand not blocking it on reaction online haha. you're better off mashing cat chair honestly though if you think he's gonna use it because arakune's only real frame trap is a 6 frame gap (5a 5d) which isn't a small enough gap to successfully bait cat chair mash if rachel is mashing like a pro. arakune's airdashes are pretty much like Bang, except there's no reason for arakune to airdash twice because it's too slow....you usually will see double jump + airdash. once arakune does a falling airdash he can't airdash again. so if he does 8/9 iad j.4b, he can't do a jump after it even if he hasn't double jumped. yeah, unfortunately fighting arakune is like fighting tager for rachel, so you sorta just have to lame it out at extremely full screen and there's really not much arakune can do, but if you get impatient, arakune will kill you with one fell swoop of f of g

your last pre-curse pressure string is incorrect. arakune doesn't air-dash before a rising j.b (in fact, he only gets one air dash anyway). the correct pressure string should look like: 5a 9 j.b dj iad j.4b this block string actually doesn't work on rachel unless she stands (rising j.b will whiff rachel crouching), so it's pretty much useless unless you're trying to yomi block arakune's 24 frame overhead :-S . however, if you block the rising j.b, 97% of the time you can just backdash out of there after the j.b, or you can take a risk with 6a or 2c. barrier blocking arakune's precurse mix-up is very strong. arakune's mixup options during curse are limitless but yea, his basic plan is 2aa a-bug then either a cross-up, low, overhead, or cross-up overhead and they all do good damage if you don't block. rachel's 6a is good against j.b... rachel can sorta throw it out for free in this mu unless you're being obvious. also, lol j.c "unblockable"....i mean yes trololol, but just to be clear, it is just an instant overhead...or a cross-up overhead ;P ... with 100 P1

hakumens i play usually save enough megatama to have yukikaze at the ready in case i tempest dahlia. if haku yukikaze's it, then there's nothing rachel can do.

worth mentioning that valk's instant overhead is an option select counter-assault bait, so beware counter-assaulting moves like 5b that are jump-cancellable

aigis has lobelias. every rachel player should play her.

arakune is immune to anti-airs. when done properly, j.b iad j.b beats all aa's, jump a-teleport => 5a beats aa's midscreen, and if you can't do rising j.b (like against litchi) then bait aa with jump forward => jump backward => iad j.b ask anyone that i play about trying to aa arakune btw, most arakunes have terrible curse pressure cuz they mash all the bugs in the same place which is freakin retarded and y'all should be exploitin that shit. not to mention their actual pressure is complete ass bc they don't know how to use instant overheads and since they are usually using 6a or 6c, it's all blockable. what usually happens is i don't even need to mix ppl up cuz they're too busy running into bugs like dummies.

i'm not gonna go through piece by piece, but some of your pressure strings are really questionable. i don't like the whole air summon george during pressure and try to make safe with pumpkin. also against lich, there was 2a rapid delay green grab???? wtf?? toward the end of the lich match, you throwing lobelias at him while he was in the corner, which is asking him to mash super (especially after fork), and i'm shocked he didn't with 100 heat. whoever that second announcer was during the lich match is an idiot. tempest dahlia is a terrible super, and several of the times he suggested using it were in fact punishable for big damage. in fact, you did one toward the end that i'm pretty sure could have been mizuchi'd (the air hit box for that is stupid) against dacid, i was literally lol'ing at the j.2c's GET PWNED BY J.2C DACIDBRO. dat east coast technology ha. i agree with lk, unnecessary reset after cat chair - bbl. u were actually doing several odd combos in this match...nice with the whiff 3c combo though...just short of 5 min in...NICEEEEEEE i'm stealing that one. not much i can say beyond, yeah, that last match dacid just spaced really well and rachel just loses to bang, and if you had just confirmed second match properly you woulda obviously won. j.2c tempest dahlia is sooo not legit lol on block. he coulda just mashed daifunka right back at you, the block stun isn't THAT long. against relius, after kerokero, you did sword iris - 6a - bbl...better to just run up and bbl immediately when george is shocking them because bbl won't hit them for the full amount after 6a. i wouldn't really think about adding too many more random j.2c's to your game lol, yeah, it's technically "pressure" on block, but you have to take into account how strong that pressure is...which is pretty weak. if they barrier guard, much of the time the only normal that actually is gapless is fork because you're too far away...and the options after fork are pretty limited compared to if you just did air pumpkin summon - 2d === also, not to mention, j.2c can just be anti-air'd dp'd, or flat out avoided and punished, especially if your opponent sees that you throw out a lot of them. oops, didn't watch the team finals... pretty solid against lk freakin HYPE winning with 4b hahah. yeah, with 2 bursts and in the corner, you gotta be expecting dp or gold burst against skd with that long 4b.

i'm about to like a noob. how/where are you finding/calculating blockstun? also, i went into training mode and i think it's actually a 6 frame gap because i tested with haku's, rachel's, and arakune's 5a to mash during this frame trap...haku (and makoto i tested) beat it out, rachel traded, and arakune flat out lost (with haku's 5a startup being 5 frames, rachel's 6, and arakune's 7) also, like i was wondering if you're just doing every gatling? because like even though moves cancel into 3c, you would never use it as a block string per se because 3c would completely whiff (with long recovery) btw, this list is really cool. me like

not a fail/derail lol, i just had to clarify my own question/problem. also, yeah, the combo thread is sorta mixed into the gameplay thread i guess, so i'll just copy and paste from there 6a > 5d > IAD j.4aa > 2a > 5b > 5d > IAD j.4aa > 6b > j.6d => the basic and most reliable combo for full curse from 6a ...although until i got very comfortable with airdashing with arakune, i did a simpler combo for 70% curse (and i actually still use it on chars like noel because their hitboxes are too hard for me currently to combo consistently). generally, as long as i'm getting a good amount of curse off of confirms, i'm fine...like 100% curse confirm isn't necessary to play very solidly with arakune 6a > 5d > IAD j.a > j.4b > 5a > 6b > j.6d
