  5. trying to 6a him out of j.2c is a bad option, because if he doesn't j.2c then you're screwed because you were too busy waiting for him to j.2c. most of the time it's better to not expect it and throw out 6a at the normal time, rather than delay it. if he j.2c's then you can still ib and punish. or cat chair ;P EDIT: if tager spaces the j.2c perfectly, your 6a won't recover in time and he'll hit you. In general, i would continue trying to space tager rather than punish his jumps because trying to 6a him is a risk. If you continue spacing (back dashing), then tager is still sad, because you'll keep whacking him with lobelias and/or pumpkin and keeping him far away, where he can't hurt you.

If you have Carl cornered with nirvana, there's still really not a lot you can do, however, if you have combo'd him into the corner, and nirvana is far away, he will try to vivace out (the dash) every time, and if he doesn't he will try to counter assault like spa said. You can just spam 2a to make him sorry he vivace'd and hit confirm for 2.5k+. Or bait counter assault with stagger 2a or jump cancel 5b
  9. what situation is there where you end a combo in 3c? i'm pretty sure on tager, any combo situation should end in 5cc or 6b lobelia or 5b iad backwards edit: and those options are only windless options....if you have wind, end every combo in 5d 3c 236b 5a 5b --- aircombo if you have at least one wind stock. you've very convincingly outlined how dangerous anything is off a 3c ender. an aircombo ender is much safer and creates distance between you and tager, which is the situation you always want to be in, whether you have the life lead or not.

  14. idk if there's a challenge mode thread, but i have a problem with challenge 15. i'm fine with 6d rc 2c release b c d but then the c bug comes out during j.6c when it doesn't come out in the demonstration (it's supposed to come out in the j.236c i assume). is there a way to cancel a bug from coming out? or am i doing something wrong and the c-bug shouldn't be coming out

  16. baden baden lily is a good combo starter, but it's much more useful midcombo because it allows you to wind regen during your combo. a j.2c combo into bbl will end with a full re-stock of the wind guage (not to mention more damage), whereas one that starts with bbl or doesn't use it at all will most likely use up one or more wind gauges. tempest dahlia will most likely get poked before the dummies come out, and if you have a level 3 or 4 tempest dahlia i would say in most of those situations, if you have 3 or 4 wind stocks there are meterless punishes you can probably do from the same situations, that are not only safer but have the capability of dealing much higher damage than tempest dahlia. there are many more uses for tempest dahlia for wind regen than for positioning or damage. the best uses of high level tempest dahlia imo is for getting that last bit of damage on your opponent, or ironically like a dp, because of its one invincible frame (trust me, i've taken gross advantage of that one invincibility frame with level 4 td)...i mash level 4 td's during my opponent's block strings all the time lol....way better than cat chair. and tari, there is nothing entertaining about hakumen using yukikaze on your tempest dahlia to eliminate you from a bbr qualifier on stream
  17. ok first of all, king george only comes out at high levels of td, i think at least 3 maybe 4...if you're using level 3 or 4 td's you're not using it for the wind regen, which is its primary usage. second, tempest dahlia imo is a weak use of rachel's heat. i almost only ever use it as a desperation move because the wind regen is ok at best (mayyybe 2 stocks) and it's not a guarantee. i probably counterassault more than i throw out tempest dahlia. a counterassault resets you to neutral and legitimately allows you out of your opponent's pressure while allowing for wind regen in itself. just to add to the list of things that beat tempest dahlia...lambda 4d, relius's doll, carl's doll, makoto's fist super, litchi will daisharin you and gain pressure over your td, ragna carnage scissors (when spaced correctly), jin's wave super, ....pretty much any character can negate the effects of tempest dahlia...it's a crappy move
  18. i actually thought you did a pretty good job in neutral game for the level you are currently at. i thought most of the problem was that you need more practice with combos and gatlings. you weren't always sure what you could and couldn't combo, which often led to some wasted wind and counterattacks (at least in that bang match i watched). you should either visit the combo thread of the rachel forums or watch and see the kind of combos the japanese rachels use and practice those. this will dramatically increase your rachel's power level. also....no one has told me why i'm getting pwned by spark yet

  21. i didn't see a variety of combos off 4b...i know it's a low percentage overhead but this is a pretty decent combo and it's hit confirmable mid screen. 4 wind, 50 heat 4b 5b 6b 5d 3c 7d BBL sj 8d 9 j.2c (fatal counter) 214a 3[C] 5b then j.2c level two...nets about 4.6k off slow-ass overhead also, i haven't tried this combo yet on a variety of hit boxes, but it works on ragna.
