Uhh I'm sorry but you have to use the number inputs if the game is an anime game, it sounds kinda ridiculous to not use it. Just have a really simple explanation such as this to go along on the first post: -

Oh don't get me wrong, I am all for playing multiple chars, I think the best way to learn MUs is knowing how to use the char yourself since you begin to think like their user there and know what to look out for. Also it's just a ton of fun and I like a lot of chars outside of my main so I use them. I'm just not gonna resort to counterpicking. If I'm using a sub it's cause I just feel like using them, not cause I think it is a strategy needed so that I can win where I otherwise wouldn't. Sledge has armor all the way until it recovers now, it really helps a lot. -

The counterpicking discussion here misses out a fundamental aspect of what occurs when one counterpicks. While there may be strategical merit, I believe counterpicking can also damage morale. It's a sign of lack of confidence. It's like admitting you'd lose with your main who is the char you're your best with and thus need to resort to using someone you wouldn't otherwise want to use but now are forced to and are powerless to do anything different. Think about that vulnerable mental place this sort of thing puts you in before the game has even begun. It may be the optimistic nature of my character or whatever but I think it is valuable beyond measure to be confident even when you face an uphill battle and I think this confidence shines through in how you play. If you already have decided your best has lost and you need to resort to a strategic maneuver to stand a chance, even with the knowledge of MUs being in your favor and such, you still will end up being in a bad place as far as morale goes. Oh and to note this applies to people who actually have a main that they consider their best char and not people who would sub like 8 chars and counterpick as their primary go to way of achieving victory. -

Simply put, you should never ever go for that combo now since while we did lose that trait of 236H, we also gained the much more important trait of 623S increasing in hitstun. Just do 236K>623S>214S>236H, more damage, more meter, more oki, can sometimes 236[h] vs the less gigantic-hitbox-fattie chars, just overall much better at everything.

Yeah that was my impression as well but since it was used as an explanation for the delay I assumed I was missing some information. I'm pretty sure they don't have voice actors for half the chars that are from shows that aren't out in this country yet. -

There isn't all that much text to localize in this game anyhow, it's not like this is BB or GG with hours upon hours of visual novel to translate. It's odd that it has taken that long. -

Air falling slash crossup into combo burst seems like a really strong option. Beyond that Saber looks cool but not as "weird" as some other chars. I guess it makes sense since she's arguably the most popular char in this game so a lot of people will go to her. Makes sense making her an easy to pick up char with straightforward buttons. I like her wind sword the most. The ability to buff the sword to get the wind super is cool. -
Arawn is also evenish with her from what I recall.

Haha, ok! This was "exactly" what I thought she was doing. I am happy to see I understand this game to at least some level considering I never played it. Her long arm poke did seem like a normal which was the only odd thing out but I could see them using it in such a way so as to make them try to jump the grab only to get poked during jump startup, which is a type of mixup I like to go for myself so I could recognize it. Also thanks about the movelist. You offer a ton of helpful info about this game, if we ever get our own board you should be our mod :D. -

Are there character movelists anywhere? I'm trying to figure out if Saya's long arm poke and hair command grab are followups to a stance Hazama style or what since I see her do a similar startup animation before going into them. -

I kinda hoped the english version would have ignition in it what with the release date being as it is. I guess that's not realistic. I really hope they make the online cross version cause otherwise I'll have to wait since ignition sounds like a separate disc already lol. Double dipping for an update is fine but triple-dipping is a bit much...and we have the new uniel on the way...and revelator...and NItro+. -

The easiest way to guarantee the red bakers is from a 2D landed in close range. This is easier to land than you may think by conditioning people to stand up when you run up to them by doing run up jD which is an overhead and then once they have been properly conditioned going for the 2D>623S confirm. Another way which is very easy to confirm and quite optimal is the max range fS>236H rc confirms where you get to follow with the run up 6H and do the usual combo. Finally, any time you land a punish of some sort by doing 2H or 6H, those are all prime chances for a red baker BnB. How much food it uses shouldn't matter since you're gonna be eating in the end anyways and Sin doesn't get many chances to hit people so maximizing each of them really matters a lot. Most of the time you can also 236[h]>j214k-6>jk>2h(2)>5h>214h off of that after the second 214S, too. Does a bit more damage in those cases where you're nearing the corner (which is most of the time thankfully).

Basically, the startup invuln (or the full screen tracking of Saya for punishing stuff that can't be punished otherwise) seem like the only reasons to use this "combo super" as I have been calling it from watching vids. -

Even if they 6P me they'll get hit by the voltic dein which will be a net gain. Also I really don't know anyone who would mash 4H during the time where they're blocking voltic dein, at most they'd be trying to IB it and gain meter or they'd be worried more about the incoming mixup and thus try to see how to block rather than mash. Look, I'm not saying it's the best thing ever or anything of the sort, it's just a nice little tidbit I accidentally did and was surprised by how effective it was lol. jS into j214S into stuff works from that. -

You do that when a grab is enough to kill. It's a really good mixup with less reward. Even if they're blocking it it's not like Sin's mixup is all that strong. It's for those cases when you prefer a guarantee hit to a highly damaging confirm that's harder to connect with. Also you can throw them INTO the moving dein if spaced right which actually does decent damage. -

I'm sorry, are you saying fighting game fans are by definition supposed to dislike visual novels and stuff? Cause I think I am a fighting game fan (played them since early 90s, been competitive for like 7 years already, went to tourneys and even won money!) and I love that stuff! Are you saying they shouldn't have made a fun game out of these things because you dislike them and now you are forced to play a game with them because the system is fun? I dunno, my logical self would go in the direction of "I'm glad these guys who like this stuff get to enjoy a good game with their fav chars" rather than "why doesn't this suck i wish to keep hating it without sounding like an idiot!" lol. All in all, the Psyduck icon really does sum a lot of this headache up lol. -

The issue is they won't know the timing to this setup and it looks like they're actually in the fireball so nobody's first go to thing would be to press buttons while in the process of blocking voltic dein. You would have to show someone that setup a bunch of times for them to start adapting to it and even if they do you get to then do other stuff off of it such as push them out of the dein but then do rising jD to counter their grab attempt (which you can do while they still are in blockstun so there's no risk of being grabbed) etc. -

I accidentally found out an interesting throw setup, it requires voltic dein. Basically, you throw it out and run behind it as they block it, preferably before they have started blocking it you will already be running, then, you keep running to push them out of it after they have blocked one or two hits. You run faster than it moves so it's possible to push them out of its range and grab them as the blockstun runs out but it still will be there so if they try to do anything other than backdash or dp it will hit them out of it (and it should trade with most DPs).
