Agreed. After hearing BBAM's version of UHD, I was expecting some amazing version of Nightmare Fiction. In every other regard though, I liked this episode better than the first two. I wish the action sequences were done a bit better though.

I'm not too kind to the idea of playing games on my computer, but I would still buy it if a console version wasn't possible. It's not a bad idea I would say, but the potential to sell a lot of copies of this game might be really low.

I must apologize for the bad analogy, but yeah. I don't think BBAM was meant to appeal to a "new" audience anyway. The twelve episode setup and fast pacing seem to imply that the studio who made the show assumed that all of the viewers were already familiar with the source material. If this isn't the case, then I wouldn't see any other reason for the show to be the way it is.

What about the Unlimited Blade Works movie? It's kinda in the same vein (as in for people who already did the route in the game). It's just a treat for fans.

I can't really comment on the damage question, but I think a lot of people would agree that Ky is one of the easiest characters to learn, if not the easiest. He has all the "standard" FG stuff (fireballs/dp), and his combos aren't too hard to do either.

I just wanna add some things. If the Naoto player is doing 214AB on their wake-up, meaty 2C beats it clean. As you said, it's pretty much a roll, which meaty 2C also beats. Not that it's too useful because this hardly happens, but Naoto's 236236A can be IK'd for free by Liz. 236236A can be OMC'd though and Liz IK doesn't catch it then. I think Liz gets Hama for free too if Naoto doesn't hold back.
