Yup, KoF removes and add characters from the cast following the story of the game, if someone (for example) dies the only way they come back to a game is if it is a dream match (like KoF 98 and KoF'02). But I don't believe Lambda will be removed from the game.

From the videos that I saw I believe Naoto is the most straight zonner character of the game. And BTW, I'm going with Yukiko because I think she the most similar character on the game to lambda in terms of being a zonning character with at least decent rushdown tools.
