Well most of GG's story is in the supplemental material so its there if anyone wants to read it, while the main video game series focus on the gameplay. The story is there for people crazy about that stuff, while the focus remains on the gameplay.

So what about the combos that we know now?

It helps that Rachel was one of the few characters aware of the time loops, so she was the only one who was even capable of doing anything against him. And considering she's also one of the only characters not to give in to Terumi's trolling, it makes sense that he'd hate her the most.

I don't think anyone has tried, but I doubt it considering the lack of being to pick up. To do that combo you needed 5D or 3C CH. You can't combo off of 5D anymore and from Spark said from AX, you can't combo from 3C>2B either.
