Looks alright, probably download the demo.

Which is the fun part of playing with him, salt for everybody. Real talk, I understand that. Ragna is very free, extremely free. He's not the best character by any means, but it's extremely easy to win with him. I enjoy playing with him because it pisses my friends off so much because of how simple he is, and I like his character. I might pick up someone more technical, I'm thinking of Valk at the moment.

Yes, embrace the White void. In all seriousness, Hakumen is probably one of the easier characters because of how stupid his reach is with his sword and get 3K with at least at least 3 stars in EX. Even when they tried to nerf him in CP, he's still pretty dumb. The hardest thing I found about him was linking his combos(cuz no cancels) and drive spamming, drive spamming are the bane of all beginner Hakumens. That, and he's a very patient character orientated character, he's not "mash buttons=win" like Ragna. You should play Ragna, just to give and get as much salt as possible :V

I like to see a theme going given who has the biggest connections: Jubei trained Ragna Hakumen "trained" Jin Hazama used Noel/Mu Kokonoe has Nine's magic prowess. Luna/Sena have Trinity assisting them If there's any interaction among them, I can see Valkenhayn giving Makoto some advice.

Interesting theory that was brought to my attention, but do you guys think the story is leading to successors of the Six Heroes? If so, who do you think will be the ones to succeed them? Obviously three of them are going to be Ragna, Jin, and Noel but who else do you think are worthy successors?

Ragna & Platinum need more screentime together

Ragna Critique and Self-Improvement Thread
BlackYakuzu94 replied to Bandit Revolver's topic in Ragna the Bloodedge
I can't help it that Ragna is dumb, and causes me to do dumb things. In any case, I'll take that advice. I don't play a lot of Rachel honestly, and I know she has a lot of tools to keep me out so I tend to wait it out. Also, moar matches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpffNU4K8ks&feature=youtu.be -
He needed Noel so he could destroy Amaterasu while she's Mu, as well as take control of Takemagahara. Ragna foiled plan A, but at that point Hazama didn't need Noel anymore because plan B worked out.

That was mostly because of Yukikanesa too. Without it, he's pretty mellow, just cold and distant, and bit more of a sociopath

This came to my attention recently, but how many of you guys think the story has kind of built Jin more up as the hero than Ragna? I mean Ragna more or less stays the same from CT till now, but Jin goes from fighting mostly for himself and not giving a shit about the world to fighting for the world and the people he cares about. It's just something I caught on.

[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
BlackYakuzu94 replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Better start saving them paychecks. -
Oh Donte. It's funny how Ragna manages to come off as a better character than half of the other Japanese protagonists out there despite him being mash of cliches. Just goes to show being cliche doesn't equate to being a shitty character.
-
He put a Limiter on himself so he can fight longer.
-
This has to be the most assbackwards compliment ever. "He suffers, but he suffers with style" I don't know why, but that's the description for Ragna. No wonder I love him so much.
-
No one ever said that the NOL are the bad guys, just that the people in charge are massive dicks who have no problem exploiting everyone within. And I still can't see why you're trying to paint Ragna in a worse light than he actually is. The way you're making it sound, you're treating it like he's a malicious monster who doesn't care who he kills on his path to vengeance.
-
As long we're in agreement that the NOL aren't the shining beacons of purtiy, I'm cool.
-
Good thing he's an Anti-Hero then I'd have a better time believing this if Blazblue's story wasn't so cynical. Anyway, I don't think it's really going to matter whether it's brought up or not, Ragna's made it pretty clear that he doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks about him. Keep in mind the Ikaruga War, don't really think they're as noble as you're making them out to be. True, mac pointed it out that it's more about the "why" than the "what" really. Well even within the story it's kinda hard. The story doesn't really idealize it's protagonists(One of them was a villain till recently) with the only clear cut villains once again being Hazama & Relius. It's because Azreal is manly, and manly characters can get a free pass for everything. Hell, I'm even having a hard time hating Azreal for his manliness.
-
So have Ragna & Jin. Ya know, our protagonists. This series has a really wonky morality scale. It's hard to fit characters into good or evil, except Hazama & Relius. I really have a hard time believing Ragna would kill people without being provoked into doing so. It just doesn't line up with the characterization he's been presented with; he's been shown to be capable of mercy and even gratitude, and feeds hungry people, albeit reluctantly. Ragna is only after Hazama and generally leaves people out of his way unless they oppose him. I'm not glossing over his faults tho; provoked or not, he did still kill innocent people and heart of gold he may have, he's still a massive dick to everyone around him even when they don't do anything to provoke such a reaction. I say it's black & grey morality because while the protagonists aren't the nicest or most heroic characters around, they have their virtues and the people whom they oppose are far worse than they are. As for the NOL, we really don't know much about them. Who knows, maybe the NOL truly have noble intentions and are only doing what they can to ensure the survival of the world; the way Tsubaki talks about them would suggest that is the case. Since the only things we know about the NOL is that Hazama & Relius are exploiting the hell out of it for their own purposes, it's pretty easy to paint them in a much more negative light than they actually are.

As it stands now, Azrael is an Antagonist through and through. To say otherwise just doesn't make sense to me. I know, that's why I said. He's an antagonist, but not a villain. I only said he's neutral because he doesn't really have any evil intentions. He hasn't done anything good, that is true, but he hasn't done anything evil either. If simply opposing the protagonists made someone evil, then Tager, Hakumen, Rachel, & Litchi are also evil by this logic because they have opposed Ragna in the past too.
-
Lemme rephrase that; He's not evil because he hasn't really done anything evil or had evil intentions, he just wants to beat people up. He neither serves the actual villains of the story, but at the same time opposes the protagonists. In short, Azreal is an antagonist, but not a villain.
-
That Ragna is amazing, gives not a single fuck.
-
Well...this series has some serious Black & Grey morality going on, so even the heroes aren't afraid to dirty their hands if they have to. In any case, I can't really call Azreal evil because he doesn't see what he's doing as evil. As far as Azreal's concerned, he just wants to beat up strong people because it excites him. In fact, I can see him actively helping the protagonists just so he can fight the likes of Hazama(another one of the Six Heroes). In short, Azreal is neutral at best. He fights for himself and his own amusement and doesn't care who he runs over to do so. Good god I want an U. Ragna vs. U. Azreal match, his arcade ending still gives me goosebumps for how manly it is.
-
No, not at all. Like I said, I like this about Azreal. When this blood thirsty, homicidal maniac comes in and starts steamrolling over the supposedly powerful characters with no enhancements, then it gets a little iffy. But yea, considering how batshit insane he was, Tager & Kokonoe probably had something to do with his imprisonment, and Azreal more than likely wasn't happy about that.

Well Ragna's technically came from nowhere, while Hazama's is his NOL uniform. -
I think you're severely underestimating him considering the shit he's been doing since dropping in.
