[CPEX] Hakumen Video Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo.(Updated 6/9/2015)
BlackYakuzu94 replied to BlackYakuzu94's topic in Archive
I appreciate the effort to posting more videos guys, hopefully we can get together and make up the difference from back in then end of 2014 lol. -
Wouldn't it be a fuzzy guard then? Just like how'd you J.B, jump cancel into a second j.B to catch them trying to crouch low. EDIT: Actually, that's exactly what it was. Notice the red "!" when Ragna got hit by J.A, which means he was trying to crouch.

I'm assuming we're talking about offline, so I'd suggest you try to stick with that if you can help it. There are too many variables on netplay to really come up with a concrete solution to anything substantial. I think everyone on this site knows what it's like to take a million overheads on netplay.
-
It seems like something that just comes with more experience with playing. The more you play, the more things you pick up and be able to reaction better. And like Anne said, it depends on the situation and if the opponent even should risk the overhead depending on what they're rewarded off of it beside a standard confirm. Also, I want to know if you're speaking about netplay or offline play?

So...how will the game evolve based on the general and specific changes that we know about CPEX? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was talking about an air hit Sekka. Ahh ok, thanks. I think this is the first time I actually understood what was being talked about in these types of discussions.
-
Is it the same reason why Jin uses Sekkaijin twice in the corner(at least in 1.0-1.1), it puts him in a much better position? But that in itself has nothing to do with SMP itself.
-
So its trying to get the most out of a situation in the most "correct" way possible.
-
Hmm, guess a little studying and understanding would do me some good.
-
I'd like a general understanding of the current meta myself.
-
I dunno, this thread tends to be dead most of the time and is generally only active when its news or we're just shit-posting. Its the first we've actually been constructive in a while.
-
Don't worry guys, SKD will deliver We'll just have to wait.
-
Awww, but I like but I talking about things D: Real talk tho yea, this is kind of getting off topic and I'm not that informed to really speak for anyone, so I'll let the man himself handle it. Kbai, going to eat cheez-its :V Hope I said something worthwhile, if not then I'll just listen some more.
-
Guess Jin's playstyle makes sense then, it really does feel like he's insulting you with every move he makes lol. EDIT: Damn we got a full house tonight.
-
Ya know, you guys are making it really hard to make a response when I keep getting quoted D:< But that's assuming SKD was speaking in a vacuum about Bang at all. Why would he talk about one aspect of a character and ignore another part? This is how misconceptions start, people viewing things in a small scale. Part of this discussion is giving both sides the benefit of the doubt, but it should be based on information that's sound and makes sense. Anyone can question everyone else, but everyone is not comparable, or at least not in the way you're saying they are. If someone is more skilled at you than something, that would clearly put them at a level higher than you, unless you don't believe that, at which case I'd like to understand why. I'm not saying that people should be quiet if they have something to say, I do believe in freedom of speech. But once in a while, we gotta consider if what we're saying is actually right and if so, why is that and compare that to the experiences of the person we're talking with. If a person says something that makes sense and is logically sound, why shouldn't I(or anyone) listen? Whether its SKD, LK, Lich, or whoever the hell you wanna cite. If the information makes sense, then it should be worth listening to. It really doesn't matter who posts what, what matters is what is being posted and if it makes sense, not to you but to everyone. I've been on this site for like 4 years, if i didn't care to listen to people, I wouldn't even be here lol.
-
SWD got shot down not because he "dared to challenge the law of the mighty high level player" but for trying to make claims despite lack of information. Its like a 13 year old arguing he knows more about something than a 60 year old, despite the latter doing it for far more years and would be in a much better position to make a claim. And you're exactly right, not a lot of us have reached high level of play, so shouldn't that mean you should actually try to listen to what a high level player actually has to say, instead of just blowing them off with "Pfft, well that's just like your opinion man. If you do it MY way then, its clearly good". If you don't really care about high level play and just prefer to play at your own level, why even get involved in the first place? It seems counterproductive to argue a point you have no interest in.
-
Except nobody is putting anyone on a pedestal? If somebody knows more about something than you do, isn't a natural thing to ask them questions and defer to their knowledge? How is that being "awestruck"? Nobody is sitting here being like "ZOMG SKD, SO KEWL" we're asking someone who has a much better understanding of the game to clear up some misconceptions about it that we have. Like seriously, if you really think there's an issue with asking someone for advice then I don't even know how to respond to that. That alone shows some arrogance, that you feel you don't need advice and just make assumptions.
-
It definitely actually makes me wanna come into this thread and read instead of the usual shit that goes on in here.

Pretty sure it's not as simple as that lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Please do not take that video as "proof" of anything, it's just an example so please treat it as such. You should really study that video and start analyzing WHY what Rocha(the Terumi player) worked and the mistakes the Azrael player made as well. Keyword: analyze. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
I showed him that vid btw and watched it. I didn't post it to say "ZOMG TERUMI IS GUD" but just to show that being a competent player and exploiting the opponent will take you a long way. I watched that whole set and yea, Rocha just capitalized on all of the Azrael's mistakes because he started out pretty strong.
-
But how easily can you do this to a competent opponent? If I don't feel threatened by Bang's mixup, then I'm not going to press buttons so easily. I can either jump, or just throw out 2A if I find a hole. Also, we're still comparing him to Jin I hope.
-
But can you honestly say that your experiences are comparable to SKD's? If so, why? I say that because I don't really know your experiences to compare them to SKD's, so I'd really like to understand why you feel he's wrong about them. Or rather, how and why can you sum up everything he said as "Bang mixup sucks compared to Jin's lol"
-
Its Rocha. Ego? I guess its pretty hard to accept that you might not be as good as you think you are despite playing for years.

SWD plz, stahp We just got on some actual constructive talk in this topic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
