Pretty much your only options, I asked Spark a couple pages back and he said the same thing. There doesn't seem to be a real Option Select of baiting bursts off a good punish

Most of the time I get bursted right as I Overdrive cancel, so I have no time to block the burst because overdrive recovery is so fucking long. Its annoying.

Its so hard to actually block bursts with him now, that situation almost never comes up for me lol. I think some important things to note is how much recovery burst have and see what we can get out. This is also meter dependent keep that in mind.

Hmm, I wanna say CSEX Hakumen, but I'll concede to CP1.1 Hakumen. CP1.1 is the perfect balance of solid without being OP that I learned to appreciate over time. Its a shame they nerfed most of his primary options (again...) in CPEX, but I hope CF gives me something to look forward to. I actually liked CP1.0-CP1.1 Ragna more than CSEX Ragna honestly, the latter is a little too...dumb for me. Don't get me wrong, I loved the damage and all that jazz, but getting so much with so little effort is LOLOLOL. CP era Ragna feels like a bit more effort to earn your high damage.

Who do you want to be the protagonist of BB 5?

We know next to squat about half of the cast, so I don't think it's wise to shift focus suddenly to a character that's been there since the beginning after Ragna's has been done and over with. I'm going to assume this is going to be like how SNK does things; Ragna is no longer the focal character, but still plays a major role in future installments and any subsequent protagonist is related to him in some way. Think how K' from KOF2002 took over as the primary character, with Kyo being out of commission for most of the arc and still playing mostly a supporting role when he returns, but K' is a clone of Kyo and there's a bit of a dynamic between them. Same how Ash's primary targets were the Orochi treasure holders, which included Kyo. So yea, we might be getting a new cast entirely. -

Bullet has higher max damage than Ragna does, but she has to expend a lot of her resources to get it (Meter, heat level, etc etc). Bullet also has good neutral tools like 2B and j.C. She also has a full screen projectile. Ragna has better and more consistent average damage as he can get at least 3.5k-4.5k anywhere on screen depending on the confirm and 5k in the corner without expending resources off a crouching hit. Ragna has better mobility having a dash and whatnot, so he can do dash 5B to extend his range a bit. Ragna's offense is...the same as always, opening people up is dependent on your creativity with his mixup tools. I'm not too familiar with Bullet's offense so I can't really say for sure how good is it compared to Ragna's.

It might be a couple frames after, he gets hit by Jin's Ice Blade too a bit after the startup. -
For the most part, I like what I'm seeing; he's basically CPE Hakumen (who already is decent) with new options. New drive special will help out in neutral if it doesn't change anymore to final release; it covers distance and recovers remarkably fast for a counter move.If Renka is still +1, then that means more pressure options off it after a blocked hit (Renka(jc)>j.2C, 2B, etc etc) I wanna know if both hits are jump cancellable or just the second hit tho.Specials are now ODC which is gonna make confirming into OD even easier. Hopefully he still maintains his current damage.Tsubaki isn't an overhead anymore, but it guard crushes and does hard knockdown, so that's a fair trade off I guess. I hope the frame advantage off of guard crush is enough to get a decent combo. Exceed Accel is the new hotness :V (MISOGIIII) But yea, he didn't get anything too crazy but at the very least, they didn't take much away this time without giving something decent in return. I can't wait to see what people come up with this Holiday. Just make counters catch projectiles and give meter again and we'll be good, plz team blue.

Well, I was kinda gonna add that myself eventually (probably some time this week), but assistance is appreciated. It looks good for the most part; I would give a bit more elaboration on his offense tho like you did with his Defense and Neutral. If you want, I can send you what I wrote so we can compare them and try to make something out of it.

I notice his standing overhead is fast, but you can't seem to combo off of it? Both times it hit, the opponent was able to block afterward. His offense pressure is looking nice tho. -
I'll post my overall impressions later on today, but I like what I see so far.

I like the Tsubaki buff tho, finally a decent reward off it....can it still be blocked mid?
