  2. Saw jp players talking about it in twitter on the last month beta, but just now saw it in motion. They joked that it looks like a newdad swinging his child ( http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=37403518 ) battle arena shinjuku streamed again today. It was laggy as hell, more than the other days, and the sound bugged for a time ( http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/6656/n1ex.jpg ) . They said that they are using a new equipment to record the stream as a test, and apologized for the problems. I was able to record some footage again, and this time i captured just the game, not my entire screen. But the sound was bugged when gordeau vs chaos theme was on :V. -i was wrong about orie b+c. It just put her in the air, and after the ascending part she can do anything she wants. Jb (crossup), j2c or air summon (overhead), simply land > 2a or even use assault. She says "evasion!", so maybe it have some invencibility? -saw merkava using his snakes and controlling when they would run.   3. yes, i did it with format factory. The size was reduced a little, and i can't really spot a loss in quality compared to the original. But when i tried to upload to youtube, the quality was gone to oblivion.   4. stream runned again today. Less players appeared today, but i saw some interesting things -Seth B+C is a powerup. The next orb he uses is planted farther from him, is bigger and is shotted faster -Walldestein B+C makes he throw a rock from the ground. Resemble Hisui's vase, but goes fullscreen and is faster. -Carmine B+C makes a pool right under the enemy that shots a projectile equivalent to the one that came from 214 -Gordeau vs Chaos battle in history mode have a special music. But i haven't recorded it -_- -Pretty sure it's possible to hear footsteps of every character. It's just that some are more easily audibly (like the sound of the high-heels that hilda uses) -Compared to the 8,5k that walldestein was able to do in the old version, he is way more tame now. But he still can do 5,6k with full meter, while it looks like the rest of the cast can't. I recorded some footage, but i'm really a noob at recording/editing. The archive will probably be oversized and with inferior quality. I will try to upload it on youtube, but it will take a while with my shitty internet too -_-;.
  5. yes, overhype isn't a good idea. Like, people will probably find new combo routes with time. While they probably will be more tame in terms of time leght, maybe there is potential to the same damange of the older version? Hum....i used rock howard's top attack as a comparision to Orie's B+C because it was the closer move i could think in terms of speed. I don't play persona, but people said in twitter that it's similar to Yosuke's moonsault in terms of arc lenght and speed. Not sure if it have to be blocked high. The stream wasn't archived. But it runned from 11pm of august 26 to 11am of august 27 for EDT timezone so...it runned since the arcade opened to when it closed lol (10am to midnight for jp). Obviously, there was a hotspot in this time when there was lot's of people playing (around 6pm to 9pm of jp time), and there was times when nobody was playing (in the first hours of the stream). In the last hour it was just a guy playing in training mode.
  6. yes, they where streaming in this link until minutes ago. It's really with the new version, as it have chaos and in the lower-right it can be read 2.00. Things i noticed -combos are much shorter. Don't know if it's because the enemy get higher in the air during air combos, if they put some hitstun decay, or put some limit specifically for rejumps. -damange seemed really lower. Haven't seen any combos dealing more than 3,8k during 3hrs of stream. The majority of them was around 3,7k. And there was some really good players there (like the n°1 sion). -instant kills not necessarly instant kills. If you are low in life and have full meter, the activation of "veil off" become really fast (like melty blood's heat), and your character will be in the "charge grd" stance. If it conects, the animation of the instant kill will come out, dealling 2-3k of damange. Kind of a comeback mechanic. -Orie's B+C looks like rock howard's top attack. -Yuzu's put her in battou stance, and let you chose between using her normal batou attacks or charging the moves for a version with improved damange, but lower reach (equivalent to batou ver. A reach maybe?). It create a effect of falling cherry petals. -Gordeau use a slash with his claws, comes out pretty fast and have good reach. -Linne's one is a "dragon ball special" that can be used as a combo ender for hard knockdown. -Sion's move cause wallstick, and i saw it been used as combo ender too. -the game has a menu now. And a trainning mode. You can be interrupted by a "new challenger" at any time, but if you win the game will redirect you to the last mode you where playing automatically. http://imageshack.us/a/img266/8140/60g2.png http://imageshack.us/a/img703/4301/yf1x.png -not sure if it was there before, but now dashs of the "run type" can be crouch canceled. -lot's of cosmetic changes. Guard effect and recovery effect seemed a little different. And we can hear footsteps of some characters, like gordeau. Before it was only walldestein. -liked the chaos's theme. It tended more to techno, and some synthesizers where the same used in merkava's theme. The song was more cherfull, almost like a oldschool rockman music....just at the end, right before the loop that it creates a darker atmophere.

  11. basically, roll back is one mechanism to keep synchronization. If you are using roll back together with the more traditional synchronization system (imput delay), you probably will need a much smaller imput delay to keep things synchronized. With it, even when the ping is kind big (like 300ms), if it`s stable it will be a good experience.   16. hum...changed a bit the brightness and contrast in the silhouettes...one is chaos (even without manipuling the image, it's evident...the pendant is fully visible). The other actually isn't a image obscured, it's really just a black mark. It have good chances of beeing nanase, as she was showed briefly in the last stream and the tip of the silhouete looks very angular, like the tip of a big sword...but not 100% sure. Let's see if they do another stream at the end of the month, like narita promissed.

  18. it use pre-redered sprites (3D models turned into sprites). If you played snes donkey kong country or super mario rpg, that's the same. The "xing of fighters" tried to do it too, but the result wasn't so good. About asymmetry, it can be done in sprites, but take more effort to do and need more memory to run. I remember that cps2 back then don't have memory to make it real (see sagat eye-patch) even if they want to, but neo-geo could. For this reason in sf3 (that runned in cps3) they deliberately put asymetrical characters (gill and his secretary), to prove capcom system could do it too. You can see asymetry in recent games too, like "under night in-birth" hilda, but it takes more work to do and will need more memory to run, so developers try to avoid even designing asymetrical characters.
