Under Night In-Birth, PS3 release confirmed (Jul 24, 2014)
caiooa replied to Hecatom's topic in Under Night In Birth
yeap, it's getting out of topic really hard with all this bullet talk XD. Specially because his moveset have nothing to do with her. I thinked about comparing Walldenstein to others french bread graplers (satsuki, kouma), but he's kind of different for me. I see influences from older versions of Ralf, Goro and 3s Hugo... http://in-birth.wikia.com/wiki/Waldstein_%28Gameplay%29 -his dash is step style and slower than the other characters. But he still get acess to assault, air assault, and normal with different proprieties during dash...he's not slow. -have some big range normals, balanced with slower startup. It's kind like nero chaos...a misstime from him can be punished. -moves involving his claws (both normals and special attacks) destroys projectyles. -excluding his command throws and his B+C, everything else he does is air unblockable. This forces people to be in the ground when he's close (and then, be more vulnerable to his command throws). I can be wrong, but it makes me remember KOF 98 Goro with his 3C and MB Satsuki with her 623C. -have 360 command throw with fast startup. The range is bigger than regular throw. Ver. A can't be tech-throwed, B and EX can. -have [4]6 cavalary throw. Slow startup, but travels fast. Corner carry from anywhere. Can pick characters in the air (like kof), but can be blocked there. -both command throws can be used in combos. But be it in combo or as a stand alone, neither commandthrow actually scores big damange. -

hum...i never had problems using grapplers in sf alpha 3, 3s, and much less in kof. But in all of those cases the chars don't really depend on command grabs, it was just more on tool for them. I played very little with satsuki and kouma in mbaacc, but i'm pretty sure they don't depend in the command grabs too. -

hum...after the first dive and 2 otgs, it don't catch anymore. The cpu is using recovery/tech instead of waiting to wakeup normaly, and because of it is beeing caught? -

if in neutral you hold shield, it drains meter proportionaly to how much time you have hold 4/2/7D. And while you are holding it, you can't change between standing and crouch. You have to let go of the D button (and it have some recovery, while you are open to attacks), and while you are holding D button it let you completely open to grd break. When you get throw from a shield, when you get hit by a low while doing a high shield, and when you get hit by a overhead while doing a low shield, you stay in grd break state. Can't use B+C, assault, shield, your grd go to zero and you can't gain any grd in the next seconds. It pretty much let your opponent get grd vourpal (and acess to chain shift) in the next cicle. When it connect, both shield and guard shield reward you with a increase in GRD. Buth the reward of guard shield is much bigger (Xie said normal shield is 1 block, guard shield is 2-3). It definitively change the tides of who will get grd vorpal state (and acess to chain shirft). In melty blood, you can chain attacks from weak to strong or to strong to weak freely (in Crescent moon or Half moon). The only things to consider is that you can't use the same normal 2 times in a chain, and that every time you make a reverse chain (from a stronger attack to a weaker), there's a extra prorate during the next 3s ("reverse beat"). In Unib, this extra prorate don't exist. And if you acess normals with the autocombo, it let you bypass the "1 one of the same attack" limit. Like in melty blood, the window for canceling a normal into another is not so strict (like marvel). This open the possibility to timing variations...of canceling earlier or later. So, it's not so easy to read the timing and what normal is coming on in a blockstring to Guard Shield it. This last line will be my expeculation: maybe it can be easier to Guard Shield special attacks with multi hit, as the timing between the hits don't change (i'm saying it because in melty blood, it's easier to ex-guard this kind of attack). As a curiosity: you can chain from a stronger to a weaker attack in dfc too, but just in some special situations. After a combo blast or after using a dengeki icon (while there's still blue meter that the icon create). -

Not so sure about it now. Senaru have used akatsuki in every omni spica events in last months, and he definitively have defeated every one at some point there. But he definitively have some bad matchups agains some characters. Just my impressions, take everything from now on with a grain of salt -yuzuhira can run away from him with the telelports and zone him out with battou very efficiently. He have to work hard to get in. The n°1 yuzuhira is a regular from omni spica, so yeah, senaru had a lot of trouble with this one. -hilda can aply pressure in him pretty well at midscreen, but can't really run away from him. Her force function can act as a reversal, and is used a lot...but it isn't as fast or big as seth reversal. -seth can't zoone him out at all. But he can run away with his 44>2 (have a special animation that leaves him in the air), and have a reversal with good horizontal reach. Senaru had to watch out for this reversal, use shield correctly and tech the throws consistently to win. The seth player "Rion" give him a lot of trouble. Except for akatsuki vs yuzuhira/hilda, the better of both akatsuki and the opponent is at close range, so things are somewhat ambiguous. It's pretty much decided by who have better footsies, reads and who can defend better....block high/low variation, use shield to get grd (and then grd vorpal, and then chain shift ability), tech the throws, bait reversals, etc. -

yup. You can see that hitstun bar don't change. It's clearly a bug, and not a problem in the general mechanic (like linne infinite). Btw, the description of the video says you have to connect just the last hit of walldenstein 623C....maybe because of this it taked so long to be discovered (from september of last year to last week). -

-Some people liked the aesthetics (the "anime-esque" 2D sprites, char design, ost, etc) -Some people are looking for the mechanics. -And some people are going on for brand loyalty. It's produced by French Bread, the same guys behind melty blood series and ragnarok battle offline. More recently, they were involved in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax too. Fans want to help them make it big this time. -

there's just 2 wikis linked in the op. Mizuumi one never received content really (you will just see "infinite words" in each attack description), and is obviously outdated. The other one (http://in-birth.wikia.com) is up to date in almost everything (just don't have screenshots for some of akatsuki normals, but have description for every attack of every character).
