i understand people beeing disappointed (i'm myself), but i would aproach it with care. I wouldn't create unrealistic expectatations, but i would look foward for the game. -seeing aquapazza having male chars (Arrawn, Hakuowlo, Oboro, Touka) and that 11 of 16 chars of Daemon Bride are males, it's a complete exageration to say "examu things are waifus". They have tried going the other way, receiving mixed responses, It's not a "hopeless cause". -the famitsu scans says the development is just at 40%. It's not something that will be launched tomorrow, expect at least 2nd half of 2015 (and for arcades) -as it's just at 40%....expect more characters -

it's not just urobuchi beeing nitroplus staff...the copyright is registred by both typemoon and nitroplus in the LN. This isn't the case of madoka, for example -

i remember a 4gamer interview with various top players pre-evo....and they saying sf4 ended up as a much more defensive game due to various mechanics decisions. Daigo sugested guard bars or they taking out the option selects to tech throws even when crunched (like the older sf games). I remember tokido sugesting charge partitions or reverse charges ([6]4 / [8]2) too as ways to make the game more dinamic/less turtle for charge characters. If the "guard break" showed in the video is really a guard bars that can be broken, i think it's a step in the right direction. It may create opportunity for 100% guard break blockstrings, but a "just defend" system like alpha3/garou/melty can easily deal with it (and c'mon, it was already in alpha3, no reason for them to not keep this possibility in mind). The activation thing that looks like VS darkforce/ blazblue overdrive/ KI instinct mode / etc looks interesting. But there's too little info to guess anything right now. Art style have gone in the same line as sf4/mcv3/sfxt , what is a let down for a lot of people. But at the same time, the majority of the blatant anathomy mistakes are no more, it looks way better. forgeted to post here, but there was a big event at a-cho kyoto called "dueling the kof", with old 98, 2k2um and XIII climax. A lot of guys from Korea, China and some from France came for the tourney, some from Mexico tryed but weren't able to. hum, saw a-cho streams, and maked sense of the game this way (may be completely wrong tho) -Zooners: Altina (elf) and Melty (witch) , can pester from fullscreen with projectyles, but normals are just regular. Altina can cover more angles, but she's a charge character, having to plan ahead. -Pokers: Roserinde (red armor) and Reiji (guy with a katana and orange hair), have very good normals, with a lot of range and priority. They have a lot of crossup potential too. But their walk and dash speed is really slow. Roserinde got better special moves (looks like they have super armor/invul?), but she's a charge character, having to plan ahead. -Rushdown: Fenrir (wolf) and Xiao (cat girl), have really really good walk/dash speed and special moves make them travel the screen pretty fast too. But their normals lack range and priority. From point blank, they can go for "anime" staggers. Pairon (chinese girl) looks like a hybrid of rushdown+zooner with emphasis in zooning. Sakuya (girl with katana) looks like a hybrid of poker+rushdown...she have the good pokes and the speed. But I had the impression she have lower health than usual... Issac (dude with long white hair) looks like a hybrid of rushdown+zooner with emphasis in rushdown. Ryuga (claw dude) looks like a well rounded hybrid of the 3. The 3 archetypes with defined strong points and weak points create part of the ballance, and kind of define the playstyles people should use with the characters. So the hybrids have potential to be much stronger or weaker than they should... -

While dfc isn't in melty level of air game, for sure it isn't a grounded-footsies game. So i wouldn't say they are similar. -

here the game wouldn't even open until i used compatibility mode to run it at 256 colors, but i don't know if this is your problem

actually, he finished modeling but just started making the animations. Some are so harder to be done in 3D that he's even thinking about going with rotoscoped sprites

i have played this and Queen of Heart 2001 out of curiosity, as it's by pre-2003 french bread (Watanabe Seisakusho). It's very cool to see Kizuato chars (as it's a main inspiration for tsukihime) and various shoutouts to kof chars. And the animation of some chars normals/specials too, like shizuru beeing kind of a prototype to v-akiha. Other thing i noticed is reverse chains (going from strong to weak), that are preset in qoh99, 2001, mb, unib and dfc. As in those earlier games airdash was not universal (but double jump was), they may be kind of similar to dfc feel.

the method i use to find matches for a specific character In the oficial site, in the section アーケード page 2 (http://climax.sega.jp/arena.html), you will find the link for the aime database. You can always pick it there if you don't remeber/don't have it in the favorites http://sp.cliapm.info/ There, in ランキング > GRADEランキング you will have acess to the data of the top rank players. In the bottom you can select any specific character. It's not necessary to fill, so the players might not do it frequently, but in their profile there's a section named ホームグラウンド, this is "home ground". When it's filled, it have the name of the arcade the player go the most. Obviously, people travell to play, but it's unlikely for them to travel for weeklys tourneys. It's more easy to find footage of them in their "home" arcade, or another arcades from the same city/district. If all fails, then it comes the route of seeing videos and streams from everywhere. you know that last blade was in planning and concept before the first samurai shodown came out, right? In the same fashion that Xrd was in planning/concept since 2008 . Fighting games aren't maked in one day at all. And it's well know that Daisuke worked in LB 1 , he is listed as the designer for Yuki and Shinkyo stages. And that ASW was in good realtions with SNK at the time, enought for ASW to put Billy Kane at the background of AXL stage in the first GG.
